Like she had with her older sons, Ixxie Mizerlou was attempting to properly educate her newest little one. She'd educated her daughters too, of course, but they tended to like outtings to these sorts of places less, and had their own interests. Grubby, at the very least, was very intent on seeing wherever she took him so long as it was warm.
Presently, she'd taken the boy to what was essentially a children's play area, but to teach them science and about the senses. She remembered taking Phineas here long ago, and was glad to see Grubby was interested in it too. There were different rooms for each sense - a room with different strips of wallpaper with different textures for touch (there were also tables full of objects kids could safely stick their hands in to feel, like some slime the moose boy had once gotten in trouble with), and a room with all sorts of different snacks and foods from all over the world in sample form so kids could experience different tastes. There was a room with different colors, patterns, styles and shapes for sight, and even a room with scented objects so kids could play around with smell.
It was all so fascinating and all so new and in the entrance area, Grubby had NO IDEA what he wanted to do first!

It was honestly no surprise that the little girl wanted to go to yet another interactive sort of place as soon as Myrddin mentioned it while talking about what they would do today. They had spent a few days cooped up within their large home together because the young man had a few things to fix up and he wanted to reward his daughter by going out and doing something she wanted to do for the day since she'd been so well behaved and quiet. Serendipity was so glad for the outing she sang loudly and happily from the moment they bundled up and left to the moment they arrived.
She sang nonsense something about puppies and kittens dancing in a world filled with cotton candy and rainbows. It really had no meaning behind it but it amused Myrddin to listen to it for sometimes she'd put in words that she made up completely.
After they arrived he managed to check in her coat and mittens at the front area and he let her try to figure out what she wanted to do as he placed her on the ground. The small fairy-winged girl teetered unsteadily on her feet as she waddled forward, "Mmmm," she murmured softly. She looked over and saw something blue and fuzzy...
..She wanted to hug it.
Her hands immediately reached forward toward the blue fuzzy thing, "Huuuuuuuuuug!"

Grubby, who'd just been set down on the ground by his mother so he could wander around, was immediately surprised by a strange blur of pink and color that came over to tackle him.
"Wuuu?" he said, a bit confused by the whole mess. What had it said? Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug? Hey, wasnt' that that thing where Mommy or one of his siblings put their arms around him and squeezed? Oh! He remembered that! But wasn't it a shorter word? This weird train of thought took a few seconds so Serendipity had already latched onto him by the time he was conscious of what was going on and could lightly hug her back. That's what you were supposed to do when hugged, right?

When it came apparent the other figure didn't move and even hugged her back when she reached the figure the small pink haired girl let out a gleeful sound and hugged a little tighter - thankfully she wasn't super strong otherwise this would have been uncomfortable. Still for a moment she was latched onto the poor being and letting out small happy sounds, "Hee! Warm...soft. Likes it!" she cooed happily.
Obviously it didn't take much to keep her happy.
Finally she took a moment to look over her new friend. That's right this person was going to be her friend. She'd decided this a few moments after the hug was returned. She pulled back enough to take a good look at him through her glasses which were a bit askew upon the bridge of her nose. Something about this blue being did everything except scare her or make her uneasy.
"I Serendi...Sere...Serena. Papa call me that sometime," She informed her new friend.

"Thaaaaaaaaadyus Grubberly M'zer'loo." the boy struggled with, before his mother reached down to pat his head lightly to indicate he didn't have to use the full title. "Or Grubby." he added sheepishly.
"Nicssa meetsha, Serendi Sere Serenanana." the last part of her name exaggerated a bit, but not on purpose. Hey, Serendi Sere Serena sounded like a nice name after all! It wasn't his fault it sounded like shananana or something.
Ixxie chuckled and smiled over at Myrddin, "Hey there. Cute little one."

"Grubby!" She called out happily in return and then tilted her head at how he had interpreted her introduction. It wasn't what she meant but since he hugged her back she felt he could honestly call her whatever he wanted. Though still that sounded like an awfully big name and so she offered, "Grubby can call me Pinky or Serena, yes."
She honestly enjoyed both names as much as she liked her whole name but it was too difficult for her to say at this juncture.
Myrddin caught up after his daughter had taken off without him able to stop her. He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck as he tucked his wings a bit closer to his body so someone didn't bump into them, "Haha, thanks. Could say the same for yours. Sorry Serendipity pretty much tackled your kid, she gets a bit excited."

The boy seemed a bit surprised by all the shouting, but he smiled and made little purring-chittering noises as she talked, bopping his head back and forth. This girl was nice - she had to be his friend like how Imani was his big sister Julie's friend, right right? After all, she knew his name and let him call her something and all of that!
"Sereeeeenananana." Grubby agreed once more and pointed at the doors, "Go with Grubby?"
The pink haired woman waved a hand, "It's fine, Grubby's not hurt and some energy'll toughen him up."

At least she was slowly calming down a little bit now that interaction was made possible via demands for a hug and what not. Her new friend made fun noises but for now she didn't comment on them. She even let him go though she stood nearby. Serendipity gazed toward the doors and nodded a bit, "Yes, I goes with Grubby," she said happily though she took a moment to straighten her spectacles and then looked at the doors some more, "Which?"
The prospect that there were choices was mildly overwhelming.
Myrddin grinned lightly, "I suppose that is true. Not like she mauled him or anything," he laughed and watched the kids for a moment. Might as well make nice with the other parent, "I'm Myrddin. Pleased to meet ya."

Grubby looked around at all the doors, puzzled as well, before holding out his hand and pointing at the nearest door - the taste room. "Near." he said and crawled towards it on his little caterpillary legs, pulling the fairy along behind him lightly.
Ixxie watched her son make his way towards the door and grinned, "Yeah, anyway he could use some excitement." she joked before turning back, "Nice to meet you too - I'm Ixxie Mizerlou."

Serendipity nodded in response and moved to follow along. She had no idea what would await them in this room though it didn't take long until she smelt the food and even saw some of it as soon as they passed the threshold. Serendipity's eyes widened a bit and she looked at Grubby, "Can eat food here? Safe?" she asked curiously because now she wanted a snack of some sort.
Myrddin smiled and nodded, "He'll definitely get a large dose of that today," he laughed. He was fairly informal for the most part he didn't offer his hand for a shake at the moment it was contentment enough for him to have met a new person. He looked over as the kids wandered, "Think we should follow a bit?"

Ixxie glanced down at the two and smiled, "Yeah sure. This place is pretty safe - I've brought my other kids here before, but this is Grubby's first time.' she explained.
The furry boy seemed just as amazed at the prospect of food and snacks as Sere was, looking around at the different tables and the people behind them - friendly ladies and gentlemen who were explaining to kids about the different tastes. Their outfits were color coded based on what sort of things could be found where - sweet things, salty things, sour things, etc. There was even someone at the exotic foods table, where kids could try bits of fancy foods from around the world to see how it tasted.
The woman walked over to crouch by her son and Sere at this point, answering there question, "Yep, you just go up to the different tables and the person there will tell all about those kinds of foods and let you try them. There's a sour table, and a sweet table, and stuff like that."

Myrddin nodded a bit, "First time at this particular sort of interactive-thing. The last one was a bit different but Serendipity enjoyed it well enough," he responded.
Serendipity's lips parted a bit in awe and then soon there was Grubby's Mom explaining it to them with her Daddy not too far behind smiling encouragingly at her to let her know it was alright. The small girl hummed a bit and gazed around, "Sweet? Like candies? I like sweet," she said softly as she looked around a bit confused. "Which is sweet?"
She never had anything sour before as far as she could recollect perhaps she could try that next. "What Grubby want to try first?"

Grubby was not as familiar with the distinction between tastes but hey, that person was in white! Let's go look at them! He pointed at the 'salty' section and bounced a bit, smiling at Sere with his barely visible - or maybe totally invisible mouth. "White suit!"
Ixxie chuckled and nodded, "That's salty. You two can go ahead and try there. It's okay if you don't like it though."

Serena was totally happy to follow with whatever Grubby wanted. She nodded a bit and started to lead the way toward the person with the white suit so that she and Grubby could try the stuff there, "White is a funny color," she observed simply but not really going into further explanation. She only paused when Ixxie explained that it was the Salty table they were heading toward but then continued on. It's okay that it was salty. She could kind of remember salty.
Maybe. Let's face it...Serendipity only knew enough to be 'dangerous' in the world of taste. The only one she had down pat for sure was sugar was sweet and that Daddy was sometimes a meanie-face and didn't let her have candies when she wanted some.
Myrddin laughed a bit as he watched the two go.

Grubby tugged on Sere's hand as he bounce-wriggled up towards the table and used his tiny feet-feelers to climb up onto the chair and stare at the salty items.
The person in the white suit grinned down at the two. "Did you two want to learn all about salt and salty things?" she asked, cheerily pointing to some small diagrams that very basically explained what salt was and where it came from and one that showed what part of the tongue tasted salty things.
