Why didn't they use it?

So I'm listening to Pastichio Medley, Smashing Pumpkins.

It's 23 minutes of random instrumental junk they [mostly] never used.
Some of it kicks serious a**. Lots of it sucks. But the good stuff is still good!

Why didn't they use most of it?
