History: Vessali is the second son of a farmer and a wherguard, the woman he never expected to fall in love with. Despite the potential for danger and rough handling in their lives, his parents took deliberate care in teaching their sons to be careful not only with each other but with anyone they met and befriended. Yes, they taught them to take care of themselves if push came to shove as well, but fighting was never to be a first option.
As a result, Vessali has always been the backup and bodyguard of sorts among his friends. He's been content to lend a hand where he's needed since he was old enough to do so and never pursued any particular craft, as too many appealed and he knew he couldn't devote enough attention to one.
It's for this reason, the inability to settle into one task, that he's never considered trying to follow his mother into guarding prisoners or to take it a step further into training to one day try for a white dragon. A distraction on the sands when one of those beasts hatched would probably get him killed. Better, then, his parents agreed, to let him follow whim and his current desires.
Appearance: Big. That's the first impression he gives. Vessali is broad-shouldered and chested and tall. Where others his age are still gangly or gawky, he's already put on muscle and settled into a thick build, something that makes him seem ideally suited for a mining or smithing life. Dark brown hair is always kept cut close in a thick brush cut. He has long, blunt fingers, a square jaw and dimples that frame a smile a perpetually crooked-smile. His eyes are a dark storm grey.
Personality: Vessali is a gentle giant. Despite his size, he sees fighting as a last resort, not a first choice. He can fight and will if he's defending himself or someone else. His father and older brother made sure of that. He's much more eager to talk through a problem than he is to throw a punch or knock someone down. If he's pushed to the point of getting physical, he doesn't back down until he's won or unable to swing again, but it takes a lot to get him there.
He is not a particularly focused young man. That's not to say that he's good at multi-tasking, particularly. He just has a hard time devoting all of his attention to any one thing for long periods of time. He's got a decent memory and he's not a slow learner. It's just that if he's introduced to something new, that becomes his focus and he'll let other, older tasks sit idle in the background until he's reminded or reintroduced to them.
He is good-natured and friendly. If he spots someone hanging back or looking uncertain, he's the sort who will head over to say hello. He has a laugh that carries and can be heard over and above a lot of other noises. He is very family-oriented, and very much devoted to his parents and brother. He considers his close friends a part of his family as well, but he hopes to have a family of his own one day. He's had good role models in how parenting should go from his parents, and he enjoys spending time around littles. He makes a spectacular pony for giving pony rides, after all. That said, if he's attracted to a girl and she shows him even the slightest interest, he tends to stutter a bit.
He is severely claustrophobic. Being in deep darkness triggers a little of that panic, but as long as he can move and not touch the walls of whichever room or cave he might be in, he's fine. If he is restrained or stuck in any small space, however, he gets upset very fast. He was lost in caves for a few hours as a child while playing hide and seek with his friends, and has not been able to stand close quarters as a result since.
Is this character being trained as a 'White Candidate'? No.

D'aw, I like him! XD
Only thing we'll need you to change is the parents. Unlike whers, there have been a very specific amount of white dragons (detailed in the time line sticky) and so there aren't actually any whiterider NPCs. (There are ones that exist IC currently not being played, but we have full intention of giving them out eventually.)
Other than that he looks great.

I made dad a farmer instead, after making sure NI had room to farm. Hope that'll work out better.
