Story:
It is common: To fear what is unknown. The things you cannot explain, and things that your human mind cannot begin to fathom. The darkness... The mysterious creatures that roam around the shadows of our lit world, and lurk in the blackest patches of the night. But not all that walks in the daylight brings good, and not all that walks through the night brings bad along with it.
There are many things in this clouded world that would make even the bravest cringe away. People whom you look up to have their dirty little lies. People who have done so much wrong can harbor love. And then the people in between who take you by surprise in the most curious of ways. All of this drives fear into our frail little hearts. Still, not everything can be known at all times. Where would the fun in life be if you knew your fate?
My favorite things would have to be the many myths that drift through our world. The legends of vampires, demons of the night, who kill the innocent without a second thought. As some stories say, that is. Demons in themselves, who jump out of their dark hiding places to snatch even the brightest souls away and carry them into the depths of Hell. Werewolves lounging under a moonlit canopy of dead trees, snacking on the remains of their latest victims, so content in their fur covered skins as they sit. And then the wonderfully oblivious humans. They are so innocent to these life threatening obstacles that line the gloom of their sparkling, care-free days. They go on, guarded all of their lives by illusions of a perfect, unaltered world of complete goodness.
But now, some have been taking a second glance. They see a flash of black out of the corner of their eye, or a spark of a flame drifting into a nearby alley. A women sitting on a bench, watching the many people pass by as if it was all so old and unchanging. A man, so beautiful that he cannot possibly be anything that could come from their world. His eyes as black as the night, and his words like honey. In reality he is like a walking, talking Venus Fly Trap.
They see it all so clear, but are too close-minded to comprehend. Such pitiful little things, always pushing such irrational thoughts from their small minds, until the day it is too late, and they are caught by one of the various traps around them. But they are just prey. That is how the world works, is it not? Prey and Predator. Hunted and the Hunter. Which would these humans choose to be? Or could they choose to be, to be more accurate.
Let's take a look...
