Well, this was going to be a lot harder than she thought. Blankly glaring out in front of her, Halo grumbled as she tried to think of a way to complain about this setup that Card had planned without resorting to swearing. Shopping for the holidays? Why would she buy anyone a present? These days were just a huge waste of time and money, in her eyes. And he was grinning like a fool!
Her eyes landed on the kid that had recently come under her metaphorical wing, his sparkling hair hopping around at the sight of some lollipops in a nearby shop's window. Sighing, she figured she had better get used to it, at least momentarily. Merit wasn't a bad kid, and seemed to even go out of it's way to avoid her wrath. Though the sugar... like she really wanted to deal with the kid when it was hyper. Amber eyes turned to her, curious of the brightly-colored candy but hesitant to ask about it.
And then there was Fage. If there was anyone that could annoy her more than Card could, it was probably the kid he decided to take charge of. The imp of a kid saw that Merit's back was turned to the boy, and with a wicked grin, he scooted over to punch the pink toddler in the shoulder. With a giddy cackle, he scampered off into the nearest crowd. "Oww..." Merit whimpered, rubbing at his sore shoulder as he watched his cousin run off.
"F-Fage! Don't..!" Card wasn't quick enough with his tongue before the wooden spider had disappeared, leaving the man to wallow in his welling of panic. He rubbed at his head to calm his nerves before sighing, and taking off after the toddler.
Halo sank in her footsteps; this was already turning out to be exactly what she imagined it would be like. Placing a hand on Merit's back, she sighed, "We'd better go after them, too, or we might get lost." The toddler bobbed it's head in agreement, though it wasn't in any rush to meet back up with Fage. Not that Halo was in any position to be eager about it.
