So if a Loa or whatever they happen to be shows interest in you, and you are not a Vodou practitioner, what's the etiquette? How do you respond? I mean from the Vodou side of the equation. I know some Gods might be a bit jealous of their followers but that doesn't really seem like a thing for the Norse.

You might want to find out what the Loa like, maybe ask them why they're interested and probably feed them- but if it were me, I'd probably just feed them and hope it works itself out. cat_sweatdrop

And again they show interest in me that I'm not sure I'm comfortable with. Last ritual had Oshun throwing a tantrum because I was apparently not open for possession. Not sure what to make of that.

Huh. Maybe just me, but I'd be asking if it's really Oshun. I realize you work with and trust these people, but it may be more on them, than the Loa, that they're trying to draw you further into their group. It may not be, but I have seen it happen before. I hope it's nothing dodgy.

But assuming it's all on that level... If you don't want to open yourself to them, then don't. We have the right to refuse them. Your friends shouldn't allow you to be horsed unwillingly. If it's increasingly an issue, I think your best option might be to walk away from the situation. Not easy.

Well it was through someone who isn't usually part of their rituals and the ones running it were all very supportive about telling her that it was time to leave now.
