Physical Description: Dr K is a skinny man, but not muscly. His cheeks are boney, sallow, and frequently covered in stubble. His face overall is a little long and pale. Dr K's eyes are brown, but his oversized circular glasses frequently obscure them behind a fierce glare. His hair is jet black but prematurely gray at the temples from being overstressed. His brow is frequently wrinkled in worry. Dr K keeps his skillful hands covered with thick plastic work gloves with metal plating on the back to protect him from both germs and more substantial attacks. He almost always wears a light blue labcoat over typical shinigami garb. Much to his chagrin, he has sported a pair of curled goat-like horns ever since his awakening in soul society. They don't serve much purpose, and he finds them awkward at times. Dr K is often hunched over or in a similar posture. He has, of course, perfectly straight white teeth.
Personality: Dr K is a nervous man, constantly fretting over things that don't matter. He is especially concerned with the safety of all parties involved in, well, pretty much everything. He is almost always completely absorbed in some thought that doesn't have much significance in real life. Dr K is also incredibly obsessive about oral hygiene, as he was a dentist in his life. He often feels useless now that he has passed on to a realm that doesn't seem to have much need for dental work. Dr K doesn't tend to give himself much credit for when he does something well, and is always nitpicking himself. He has low self esteem and stutters at times. He does, contrary to his own opinion, have and excellent strategic mind set. He is actually a very kind man, if a little annoying at times.
Zanpakutou: Kikai Tenshi (Mechanical Angel)
Zanpakutou Spirit: Kikai Tenshi is a young girl with odd features. Her eyes are covered in a blidfold, and her hair is silver, tipped with rust. Her skin has rusty patches as well; some of them are even broken to the point where an observer can see through to the gears and cogs inside. She has a pair of mechanical protrusions coming out of her shoulder blades where wings might be, but they are only a few inches in length and jagged and rusted where they might have been attached to the rest of the wings. Between what might be her broken wings is a large windup key, which she winds herself when she starts to lose power. Kikai Tenshi is a fearful spirit, and seldom helps out her host on the grounds that “It's way too damn scary out there for a cutie like me!”. Kikai Tenshi is very confident of the fact that she is adorable, but seems completely unaware of her own broken down state. In fact, if a piece of her body snaps off she dismisses it as “a normal part of a girl's development”. She frequently harasses Dr K by calling him a pervert for having a spirit who is such a cutie like her, though he isn't like that at all.
Inner World: Dr K's inner world is a plain white room. There is nothing inside, save for a door and Kikai Tenshi. The door is locked, but Kikai Tenshi seems to come and go as she pleases. For reasons unknown to him, Dr K is unable to turn his head to look at the other half of the room behind it. Whilst in his inner world he is unaware that the room even has another half to it; he is usually concerned with Kikai Tenshi and the door.
Sealed Form: Once Shikai has been obtained, Kikai Tenshi appears as little more than a tanto with a plain lacquered wooden handle that blends with the sheath. The bottom of the sheath is attached to a plain chain that hangs around Dr K's neck. An observant person might notice that Kikai Tenshi, while sheathed, seems to make a gentle ticking noise akin to the sound of a clock.
(Not obtained yet) Shikai Name/Release Phrase: Windup, Kikai Tenshi
Shikai Description: When Dr K summons Kikai Tenshi's shikai, there is not big flash, no surge of energy, his sword just calmly transitions into it's new shape. The blade is then much longer, about 3 feet, but it's not actually a “blade” per se. The business end of the sword transforms into a series of gears about four inches across imbedded in the sharp side of the blade. The gears turn as Dr K fights. The guard becomes large and blocky, and has a windup key matching it's spirit's protruding from the side.
Shikai Powers/Attacks: As a passive ability, the blade acts like a kind of makeshift crushing chainsaw towards anything that gets caught in it's gears. Objects imbued with spiritual energy tend to resist the strength of the gears (examples: a seated officer whose unreleased blade is caught may take a while to break or only crack slightly, while their shikai blade might be able to hold against the gears without suffering much noticeable damage. A captain's blade would most likely be unharmed. If a gear is removed or destroyed another gear will cycle in from the guard, though damage to other parts of the sword is not subject to such replacement.
Clockwork Guardian: Dr K may detach an individual gear (with the dimensions I have given, there are 9) and grow it to immense proportions to act as a shield. The gear stays where it is once it has grown; if he wants to move it Dr K must shrink it and re-deploy it. Dr K initially can only create three such shields without straining himself, though with training more may be possible.

Special Accessories: Dr K doesn't really see any need for distinctive accessories, though if he finds something functional in the future he might begin carrying it around.
Skills: Dr K is a pretty good dentist because dentistry was his chosen profession in his former life. He is very good at noticing small details and other things that most people would miss, but frequently forgets about the big picture.
Abilities: Dr K doesn't really get the concept spiritual energy, but he's working on it.

Biography/History: In life, Dr K was a first class dentist who had several regular patients and a fairly nice income. He was born in Germany, but doesn't remember it because his family moved to the states when he was very young. He was living in the suburbs when he died. Dr K's close relatives all died before him, and he had no spouse. He didn't make any friends because he was absorbed in his work. Dr K died one night when he stayed late at his place of work to finish some paperwork his assistant had neglected. A person in a ski mask broke in in an attempt to steal anesthetics. Dr K attempted to stop them through stammered persuasion, but was shot when he mentioned the police. He came to become a soul reaper on the other side through hard work and determination, as there wasn't much use for his abilities and he wanted to feel useful.
