Hello everyone my name is Tay.
I have a serious question and I require some help
everytime I smoke and get high I have deja vu like this has happened before
and I rarely smoke maybe once a month if even that.
And the deja vu comes from these dreams that seem to come true months later or years. Idk but its kinda strange that this happens this has been going on for as long as I can remember. Could someone help me out?

Generally when dealing with Deja-vu, people get to predict the future because sooner or later, an event in your life will be replicable, especially if the dreams are vague. Now if they're specific, I don't know.

Its like I'll have the dream the, maybe a year or months later it happens but I will have forgotten about it until it happens.

Heh, sure.

Quit smoking.

Problem solved. xd

No, actually, scientist aren't really sure what exactly deja vu really is. There's some theories about how it's one side of your brain already processing something, and then the other side catching up, which produces an 'I already did this' feeling. But, at least for me, that's bogus.

But, I can tell you that if you were to quit smoking, you most likely wouldn't get that feeling of deja vu as often.

I understand what you are saying but, even If I don't smoke I still have deja vu its just the fact that when I do smoke it kinda enhances my sense and I think about it more.

After re-reading my post, I think I come off as kind of flippant, and I don't mean to sound that way. I have the same thing happen sometimes, minus the smoking. I'll have a dream about something, forget about it, and months later I'll remember the dream and what I dreamed about will happen right after I remember it. To the point where, in the dream I'll pick out certain details (what color shirt some random person will be wearing, what time the clock says, a certain phrase someone says, etc.) and then it'll happen right in front of me. Gives you the strangest feeling. But, I don't know why, or how to stop it from happening, it just happens.

Sorry I can't be more help...

i don't get increased deja vu when i smoke
i was taught by teachers in my school growing up that deja vu was caused by the brain malfunctioning and short circuiting the information it was supposed to put into the short term memory into the long term memory, so that you think what just happened, happened a long time ago when it really only happened seconds ago.
but of course i don't trust that 100%, scientific reasoning is often no more than theory. what about the theories of paranormal powers like seers/clairvoyant seeing the future?

As far as I know, no one really knows what causes deja vu just like no one really knows what causes near-death experiences. Sometimes people take a hypothesis and pass it off as fact even though it's never been tested.

This has given rise to the "brain being deprived of oxygen/release of brain chemicals" explanation for near-death experiences despite the fact that this hypothesis has never been tested and has nothing more than an assumption supporting it.

I tend to question most things that I'm told about the mind/brain relationship.
