Ever have one of those days when you just can't play anything well no matter how hard you try? I'm having one of those days today... I played a lot the past four days and I'm sick today and those four days are really showing in my playing.... my range is still here, but ughhh bad sound and flexibility is awful!
Does this ever happen to you?? and what are the general circumstances? Don't you just hate these days??

Tuesdays. I play like schist on Tuesdays, whether I'm practicing or playing in band. >.> And sunny days. Can't play on those days. I usually play epicly on rainy days because I'm pumped up by the rain because I LOVE RAIN!

I play my instruments A LOT every day, and sometimes if I played a loooot a lot one day, the next day my mouth and fingers will still be tired causing a bad playing day. Booooo it sucks.
But then I just take a break..

I surprising play better when I'm sick. Except when I'm sick its harder for me physically, like my lung capacity and ability to hold notes is completely gone, but my range is higher and my notes sound the best when I'm sick. But again, its harder to play. harder to play, easier to play good.
I play bad when I'm having a good day though. Like today. I was having a reall good day(although most of that spawned after band class, thanks to the head dm compeltely making my day) and I couldn't play either my clarient or my alto sax...which is really bad cause our cocnert is tomorrow. Like, on my sax I have a solo in jazz, and I couldn't play it at all. Then we had some freepractice tiem while the bd left the room for like 20 minutes and I squeaked nearly every ntoe in a way I haven't squeaked in a long time, really high pitched and annoyingly. I don't usually squeak highpitched. I squeak like I'm playing a really high note, but it doesn't sound as in tune. It was really bad.
When I'm having bad days, I play my best.
i think this is mostly because I practice mroe when I'm in a bad mood. Like, when I'm in a good modd I might actually do hoemwork, or draw, or read, or come on the comp and write a poem or story. But when I'm having a bad day, i usually take my clarinet out and practice my brains out, until my face hurts. This doesn't explain playing better when I'm sick...when I'm sick I can't muster up the will to practice...

If I'm pumped up all day, it's a good playing day. Like, a few days ago, I was bursting with energy, and I played a s**t-ton of Streetlight Manifesto on trumpet in the right octave.

I hate those days not only because we hate them (my section) but so does everyone else. when we can't tune for crap the whole band hates the flutes that day.

Oh geez. I've had them for the past three months. Braces ruined my chances of having good playing days. `Tis why I went from second chair alllllll the way down to last.
When I was without braces, I'd have them every once in a while. I sucked at tuning and I could never get above-the-staff notes without a crappy tone.
(I haven't been here in a while, ;w; I play flute, btw.)

Omg I had a horrible day at practice! I was messing up on EVERYTHING! I couldn't even do the very simple Flam excercises! I was so mad at myself and I felt worthless the rest of the day! Bad playing days such, especially a day before a parade mad

Lol, schist is a type of rock. So is gneiss (pronounced "nice").
But, I have those days too. I play Trumpet, and the notes come out, but it all sounds... NASALLY, and HURGNKY. For lack of better terms.
