Arizona: cuts medicade for transplant patients

Excerpt:

Francisco Felix, 32, a father of four who has hepatitis C and is in need of a liver, received news a few weeks ago that a family friend was dying and wanted to donate her liver to him. But the budget cuts meant he no longer qualified for a state-financed transplant.

He was prepared anyway at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center as his relatives scrambled to raise the needed $200,000. When the money did not come through, the liver went to someone else on the transplant list.

I find the following excerpt the most telling:

The Republican governor has in turn blamed “Obamacare,” meaning the federal health care overhaul, for the transplant cuts even though the Arizona vote came in March, before President Obama signed that bill into law.

Seriously, doesn't our God hate lies? Are we not required, by our faith and our God to at the very least, state the truth?

I know these are rhetorical questions but sometimes I think they need to be asked, if only to get people to stop and think for a moment.

My aunt, with Diabetes I, has been on the liver donor list for about three years now.

She's was going up the list progressively, but then her husband got laid off. His company's insurance no longer covered them, and she's disabled.

Our family doesn't have much money, but we're doing all we can to fund-raise for her.

It's more the fault of those not signing up for the organ donation list than anything else, honestly.
The hospital has a limited amount of donors, so it takes a needlessly long time to go through the list...
If everyone would just SIGN UP on their driver's license, we'd have so many more organs avaliable!
I'm a proud organ donor. When I pass on, my healthy organs will save lives.

Still, my aunt's been doing better than the doctors thought. It's a miracle her livers haven't failed yet -- they're holding out stronger than they should be.
We've been praying to God to heal her, and it's showing. Praise God. <3

I have a good friend who`s mother needs a liver transplant so the stress of waiting for someone to die to receive life is hard enough
so to read that government is cutting needy patients off their lists is absurd!
I pray over our government, the world leaders and just ask that there will be a changing in their hearts and that whatever they do will be blessed by God because that choice was said unto them by him.

I`m going to have to disagree with flauterfli, respectfully of course about signing up to be organ donors.
An article came out in the early 2OOO`s I believe about how not all organs go to needy patients in fact organs have been reported going towards science and schools that need cadavers, body parts and organs.
So in light of that evidence I will be keeping my organs to myself.
