Swords have finally entered Gaia. Now maybe some of the jerks in the forums will complain less about no swords on GAIA.

Wouldn't it be easier if they came out and complained about the lack of more concrete phallic symbols in Gaia? Clearly, this month's donation items are a response to that. The sword is a traditional phallus, and the closed parasol looks even more Phallic-Huge. mrgreen

I would've thought they would come out with katanas first, due to the stupendous amount of japanese wanabees and imitators. But that's just my opinion, of course.
This was probably just something to sate them.

Mokotso I would've thought they would come out with katanas first, due to the stupendous amount of japanese wanabees and imitators. But that's just my opinion, of course. This was probably just something to sate them. The decision to release these dragonfly-styled sabers as donation items can be seen as taunting the masses, same with those wands/pitchforks from way back when. If anything though, it's bait. Releasing handheld weapons as donation items is incentive for all the forum-boppers to steal their moms' American Express cards and pay for fictional items. The objective of course is for Lanzer to get phat saxx of cash so he can beef up the servers from lightweights to Yokozuna. And of course blow it all on ale and cosplaying hos at conventions.

I don't know the guy, but that sounds perfectly logical. And just like something a sleezy political person would do... sad. But I'll bet that's how it plays out, now that you mention it. No, he'll want to keep people on their toes. Milk it for all it's worth. If he puts them out sparingly, more people will buy. Supply and demand, my friend. Not to mention the fact that people will keep buying in hopes of getting a weapon, even if he only puts them out once every three months.

yeah so i'm working on getting my second sword... and i chose to go the bidding route, figure it'd save me a few k's anyways why the hellzorz do ppl outbid the bid that is 2k away from the buy price before the one with the lower price and closer to close?
wtf ppl i have had to go back to teh marketplace twice in the 15 minutes that i have been on gaia... i don't care that i am being outbid, if my bid is teh lowest, but screw them for going after the 4500 instead of the 150
