 Minoru sat at the edge of the river he had grown up with and stared into it's rushing water. Beneath the surface he could make out the fish and various colors of pebbles, but only vaguely as the water bubbled and churned on it's journey to the ocean.
Watching the water rush by him Minoru was hit with a wave of nostalgia. He remember playing with his brother and sister here, learning to catch fish with his mother, learning to swim, and then he remembered how long ago that had been. He was an adult now but he still had no real direction in his life. He wandered every now and again but for the most part he stayed close to his parents, just in case his siblings should ever come back for a visit. With a sigh he stood up and shook out his fur. "What is my purpose here?" he asked himself as he turned away from the water and made his way to... anywhere else.
Lost deep in thought and reflection on his life he wandered on aimlessly, all the while the expression on his face dropping the more he pondered his purpose.

Estela was bored, her last bounty had been months ago and she was seriously thinking about switching careers. Though she didn't want to do anything boring and she liked hunting. With a sigh she walked to the river, as she walked it's length she caught the scent of another and hurried behind a bush to watch. Soon a red male entered her sight. He didn't seem to be deep in thought and unhappy thoughts at that she thought. She took the time to study the male. He was quite handsome but she didn't have time for a male, after all her lifestyle was quite dangerous. She memorized his studious face and moved to leave unnoticed but her long hair was caught on the branches. During her time off she'd forgotten how long it had gotten and now she was paying the consequences. She struggled against the branches and winced when she felt several hairs pull.

It wasn't scent that alerted Minoru to the prescence of another, even though it should have been, with his keen sense of smell, no, instead it was noise and he jerked his head around to find the source. He could see a flurry of light colored fur in the bushes. It appeared to be struggling to get free.
Upon closer inspection he noticed it was a female Shakaiyo and that her hair was caught in the branches. Hurrying over to her he rose up on his back legs, balancing carefully and slowly unravelled her hair from the branch. "There ya go miss..." he said and then trailed off as he fully took in her features. Beautiful... was the only coherent thought he could form.

Estela stopped moving around when she felt, more then saw, the male near her. She stepped out of the bushes slowly before looking up at him. " Thank you. I should have remembered my hair was too long to travel through there." She shrugged her scarf back into place before shaking her hair out of her face. " Name's Estela. This your territory?" She moved into comfortable conversation since she'd got her staring out of the way earlier, not to mention there was no point in looking wishing for should haves.

After a few moments of staring, and most likely making himself look like an incompetent fool Minoru managed to grasp that she was speaking to him. Quickly he focused on what she was saying and he smiled. "Even the best of us have our moments." at this his grin widened and he chuckled a bit.
"My name is Minoru... and I suppose you could say that. I've lived around here long enough." It occurred to him that he had never seen her before and he thought about asking her where she was from but he didn't want to seem intrusive or overly curious, acually, he just didn't want to creep her out and send her running for the hills... not that he'd done that before... or anything.

Estela tried hard to ignore his staring so only her tail showed an signs of her unease. When he smiled her tail froze for a moment but then she smiled easily back. " It's nice to meet you Minoru. I hope you don't mind me passing through then." It was at this moment that she was actually torn, should she say bye and continue down her path or risk staying around and getting to know the place. Best to move on, she thought.
" If it wouldn't be much trouble would you mind showing me the quickest way through your territory? I'd hate to impose on you longer then necessary." Her excuse for compnay sounded lame even to her ears but just cause she made the right decision in moving out quickly didn't mean she wanted out of his company just yet.
