I was thinking about this for a while, If it is good or bad to withhold the truth from someone, Scenario: If said thing is really bad and you dont wish to tell someone you should really be honest with but you dare not tell them because of the way they might see you after wards or may worry about you or think differently of you..
My answer is I probably would tell them straight out without waiting because heh Im rather blunt at times with important/serious things and want people to know what kind of person I am sweatdrop , Also I much more respect for someone who can just say it straight without dillydallying around(To much dilly dallying leaves me going -__-).
I want to get more thoughts and opinions on this subject: Would you be completely honest and tell someone? Would you accept that their views of you may change? Would you trust that person enough to be honest with them? Or Would you wait for the right time?

I always try to tell the truth but to give it to the person softly. Most people will be able to get your point that way and it doesn't hurt as bad. Some people you need to be blunt with and you need to hurt them a bit or they'll never change.
I'm okay with lying in some cases. I asked one of my friends why some girl hated me and she said it was so stupid she forgot. I'm pretty sure she knew but it wasn't something I really needed to know, so I'm okay with her lying to me about it.

Well Secrets thread provides an example from me...
I don't really know how to tell the truth lightly without fearing a harsh reaction. I guess I"ll have to "wing it". I kinda feel like teling the truth more since I remembered that a few friends were blunt and honest of why one guy in my class didn't like me at all. They could have just lied or looked the other way.

I think it depends how well I know the person. If I'm comfortable talking to them, and consider them a friend then chances are I would tell them straight out. (I'm too blunt sometimes I think). If I don't know someone very well I'm most likely to just not say anything, unless the issue involves me in some way. Such as a group project or study group, then I'd probably talk with them.

Hmm, it would most likely depend on the person and how bad the situation is. Though if it's something small, like breaking your mom's favorite vase or something, I'll probably tell right away, because it's better to admit it yourself than having to hold onto a terrible feeling and your mom finding out and you getting into bigger trouble.

I DID something horrible, I WAS honest with her about it. I ACCEPTED my consequence. I TRUSTED she wouldn't kill me. I WAITED and she seemed fine until chemistry lab and she "accidentally" splashed some chemicals into my eyes and now I'm blind in said eye. She taught me a powerful lesson: Do NOT under any circumstances EVER cheat on your girl friend.

well theortically I think people should be honest but most people aren't unfortunatly. People should be more honest with each other then the world might be a better place. Now not totally honest because there are some things some people shouldn't know and you have to lie about for whatever reason.

♦ ♣ ♥ ♠
I always tell the truth, buuuuut there are times when I put discussions off because I know it'll be awkward or it'll have negative results once the things that need to be said are said. I don't handle stressful situations well in the physical world when it comes to that sort of personal stuff, so it doesn't always happen as quickly and as easily as it otherwise could.

I mean it is definitely a bad thing to have cheated on her, but you told her about it she didn't find out by herself. Therefore I think she should've taken it better, talked to you and possibly punish in a somewhat less permanent way. It's one reason why people are discouraged from telling the truth, they're afraid that the person will have a bad reaction.

She shouldve dealt with it differently and taken to account that you manned up and told her.
