Well...I am a robot/robot skeleton/human robot/terminator/cybernetic core so I guess my avatar would belong best in a science fiction action/adventure/role-play/strategy game.
If my avatar were to be featured as the main protagonist, I'd like to place him/her/it in the heart of a civil war between one specific machine generation.
Allow me to just name my avatar Metus. Metus belongs to a specific class of machines known as G.E.A.R. which stands for Genetically Enhanced Artificial Robot (In all seriousness, I have no idea where the hell that came from. Just popped into my head and went with it.). Th G.E.A.R.'s have been fighting against each other for centuries locked in an unbreakable stalemate. The two major factions are the Sentinels and the Insurgents. Metus fights alongside the Sentinels and therefore dons a blueish light and silver armor. The Insurgents don a reddish hue for light and lack complete sets of armor for protection, though their armor takes on a darker color deviated from silver. There is a third faction that takes little to no part in the civil war. They are commonly referred to as Halcyon's. The entire conflict began when the Sentinels refused to divulge the secret of their resources and strength to the rest of the G.E.A.R.'s and eventually rumors spread that the Sentinels are hiding a power artifact that is granting them limitless possibilities. A massive fraction of the population erupted into pure rage upon hearing of this and formed the Insurgents in hopes of claiming the artifact for all G.E.A.R.'s to utilize.
The plot will start off with Metus being created at one of the robotic factories. Soon Metus will learn that he/she/it is part of the newest variation of Sentinels that took 2 centuries to finish development. Metus will go on to fight Insurgents and learn a bit of their side of the story after each major triumph over their superior machines. Soon enough, Metus will come into contact with the Halcyon's and will be forced to choose one of the three sides.
(If you chose to follow the Sentinels)The Sentinels strongly believe that everything will return to normal once they locate and eliminate the 13 Insurgent Commanders and then deploy massive usage of their newly developed Control EMP shockwave to destroy the rest of the Insurgents. Once done though, the Halcyon's appear en mass and start attacking the Sentinels from every directions while the Sentinels main base is heavily under attack. Eventually Metus and the Sentinels triumph over the Halycon's as well and as the Sentinels celebrate peace at last, Metus finally admits that the entire conflict was meaningless and could have all been avoided had the Sentinels cared less about their pride.
(If you chose to follow the Insurgents)The Insurgents devise a plan to simutaneously strike at the Sentinels from all sides to thin out the powerful Sentinel forces to give Metus the chance to slip into the heart of their base with a handful of trusted Insurgents and steal or destroy the artifact. The second objective would be to infect the newly developed Control EMP bomb to set off after the Insurgents have retreated to wipe out most of the Sentinels. Everything works out according to plan except the fact that there was never an artifact. Realizing that he/she/it had fought for nothing, Metus disappears never to be seen again.
(If you chose to follow the Halcyon's) The Halcyon's believe that the only way to achieve peace was for the total annihilation of the G.E.A.R.'s and so Metus is tasked with retrieving the Control EMP bomb so the Halcyon's can duplicate it in order to wipe both the Sentinels and Insurgents out, while they were still busy fighting each other. Of course, Metus does not know the true purpose of the Halcyon's till the very end where they denote a CEMP bomb to wipe themselves out...including Metus.
This is probably a half-assed plot with plenty of loopholes but meh. It's late and I'm short on time. Have fun reading and tell me what you think about this. Feel free to provide suggestions on how to improve the plot and if I should add any other faction into the storyline or something to that degree.

Let it be said that I love Metus's idea. Now heres mine.
Well my avatar is a centaur so I guess he would be in a fantasy game. I'm a huge fan of old school RPGs so that shall be the type of game this is.
Story: The world has become a dark place. Plants have withered and died, huge grassy plains have become barren deserts. It is a time of evil. The dark lord Nicodemus, with his army of darkness, has taken rule over the realm. Its up to you (well me) to form a party to head a resistance against his tyranny and save the world from eternal darkness.
Gameplay: As a centaur, you have great wisdom and are highly skilled with a bow. You would have skills (learned by leveling up of course) including duo shot (targets 2 enemies) and tri shot (three enemies). At higher levels, elemental energy can be added to the arrows. There would also be physical attacks such as trample. Throughout the course of the game, you will meet new characters to put into your party. These include an elf, a dark elf, a dwarf, a woman, and a draco (dragon person thing lol) All these characters would be named whatever you want (one of my favorite parts of old school RPGs) There abilities would be highly unique based on how you wanted them to level up and what weapons you want them to wield but each has an optimal set up.
Centaurs are good with bows and elemental magics (drawing power from their surroundings) but can also be great warriors. Optimal weapon would be a bow or a claymore.(claymore could be dual wielded)
Elves are great with healing spells and party buffs. Optimal weapon would be staves. Second best would be a Scepter
Dark Elves are great with black magic arts (offense magic) and enemy debuffs. Optimal weapons are halbreds. Second best would be spears (could dual wield)
Dwarves are great with physical attacks and earth magic (shields). optimal weapons are Warhammers or axes (axes could be dual wielded)
Humans are good warriors and leaders. They are great at leadership skills (weaker versions of buffs) and at high levels can learn weaker magic. Optimal weapons are Swords or Daggers (daggers can be dual wielded)
Dracos are great with fire magic and have very high defense (would be your tank). Can use the taunt skill (forces enemies to attack only him). Optimal weapon would be brass knuckles or claws of ifrit (fire gloves)
Aside from their optimals, you can build every character however you want (you could have a centaur with a warhammer who can use black magic) but they will not be as strong in the long run.
How to progress: The main objective of the game is to get into the dark lord's castle and destroy him. In order to get to him, you must defeat his 4 demon lords who dwell in various dungeons. In each of their dungeons their would be an altar that the demon lord is corrupting with dark magic. It is your mission to defeat the demons and cleanse the altars thus bringing the world back to life and weakening the dark lord's hold over the world. The world is huge and would be cut into areas called continents. Until you find a map of a continent, you would not be able to see anything but a circle around the leader of your party (imagine old RPG overworld style). There would be numerous towns to explore each with their own unique peoples and shops. The people would give you clues as to what you should be doing next but will not outright tell you.(you need to use your wits). In 6 of the towns, there is a grand castle with the leader of a race as king.
The dark lord has minions spread out across the world and you will always have the threat of being attacked. The most basic minion is an orc. Aside from this there are many different kinds of monsters. Each dungeon has monsters that compliment the demon lord of said dungeon.
The Demon Lords:
The first demon lord resembles a devil. He is red with big horns and uses fire magic and dark magic to destroy you. He is weak against the element of ice. In his dungeon, you will face fire spawns and flame trolls among regular monsters.
The second demon is an ice dragon. He uses ice spells and clawing attacks to kill you. He is weak to the element of fire. Within his dungeon, you will face Ice blocks (INTIMIDATING HUH?) and Ice trolls among regular monsters.
Third demon is a minotaur. He uses earth magic to kill you. He is weak against light spells. Trolls and Land turtles infest his dungeon.
Fourth demon is an angel. It uses light magic to kill you. Weak against dark elements. Light rays and Flash trolls are in his dungeon.
The dark lord is a grand king of darkness in his first form and in his second form embodies the form of darkness itself (use your imagination on that one) He uses extremley powerful dark spells and has a very powerful blade forged from pure evil.
