Lii huffed as he paused in his padding, ears perking slightly as he watched the two males and female settle ahead of him. They seemed to be taking breaks more often these days, as if their bodies were beginning to take a toll from the cold setting into the lands. He shifted from paw to paw, wondering if it would be fine to catch up with them now. The last encounter had not gone well, thought it seemed like every time he tried to spend time with Zen the older wolf was irritable as ever. At least Flea and Kiio were more pleasant, actually enjoyed speaking with him. He whined slightly and turned away, weight shifting as he slipped past several trees. He would be able to find them again if they decided to leave, he always did.

He wondered where they were headed to, and why they were headed there. Zen seemed to know, but was not open with sharing his plans to Lii. Not yet anyhow. His nose was to the ground, something smelled interesting. Another wolf? He sniffed and every few steps he would pause and look around. No, perhaps the wolf had been there shortly before but he could not see them around now. He grunted and sighed, slowly sitting as he gazed off into the distance. He was bored, dreadfully bored. He would need to hunt soon too... but that was another thing Zen would not let him participate in, which made it all the more work for both parties. It was almost impossible for Lii to catch anything filling, and he didn't see why Zen wouldn't just let him be another pair of jaws and paws for the hunting party.

"Grumpy old coon." He muttered out loud, rolling his eyes.

Revel rose, slowly, carefully, out of the leaf-bed that had been hiding her. She suppressed a gasp of fear as she nearly fell over, knowing full well that staggering could incite even a gentlemanly wolf to attack. In all her time of the pack's sickness and her eventual solitude, she had never felt so much like prey. She knew she was taking a huge chance.

But she couldn't resist the call of possibilities. Of finding new friends, of a new home. Hope was still well within her grasp. And so, painstakingly, she made her way towards the strange male, willing herself not to stumble though her legs still seemed to have a mind of their own.

It took him more than a few seconds to become aware of the sound of anoither wolf's pad falls, his gaze flicking just slightly to the left. Boy did they stand out! A fiery coat more suited for warmer weather, Lii couldn't help but think. At least if he really needed to he could lay on his back in a snow bank and wait for danger to leave him be, as his belly was fully white. His nostrils flared as he stood his ground, head slightly tilted. Was she approaching him? His gaze scanned over her again, after a moment his eyes focused in on her facial markings. He enjoyed the pattern, it reminded him instantly of Zen. Even if Zen did not look one bit like this female...

"Hello.." Lii was neither outgoing or shy, sitting somewhere on the fence of uncertainty. His greeting just barely made it away from sounding like a question, but his body was still slightly tensed; his ears a hint flicked back. Ah what the hell? She looked exhausted, he had nothing to worry about... right? "You look amazingly like the alpha of my childhood pack... are you aware?" He said slowly, the words coming from his mouth almost at random to break up what he felt was an uncomfortable silence.

"Also, are you alright? You look a tad on the sleepy side... or perhaps just woke up? I quite like waking up late into the day... of course when there is a bear back to reclaim her den at sunrise it's not really an option to sleep in." Weren't bears hibernating now? Oh well, he didn't care. "My name is Moke... you are?" s**t... he needed to stop doing that. At least give her the right name... "But all of my friends call me Lii... I like that much better than Moke you know, it's a good name. Short, easy." Well if she was looking for someone to talk to she'd run into the right wolf, Lii was a big talker.

Well, that was somewhat reassuring. He was obviously as nervous as she was. "Well, I've never been an alpha, that's for sure," she said, attempting to make some sort of a connection. "My name is Revel. Oh, crud," she said as she fell forward into the dirt. "Gosh, I'm getting sick of that." Oops, had she said too much? She searched Lii's eyes for an answer. But he'd have found out, anyway, wouldn't he? I'm in a bit of a bind.

He chuckled at her comment, nodding slowly. "Oi, you never know right? Stranger things have happened." For all he knew tomorrow would come and Zen would accept him and he would be the alpha of their little group! He snorted again at the little thought, no way taking it seriously.

As she suddenly lurched forward Lii's eyes widened and he whined, shifting forward but he wasn't quick enough. He wasn't some blood thirsty wolf out to attack others, he was a kind wolf with a large heart. "Case o'the jelly legs yeah?" He lowered his own body so he was laying, eye level with Revel.

"My father gets that quite a bit... he is kind of a sissy though. Best way to get rid of it? Wait it out, of course." He didn't know that at all actually, he'd never seen a wolf fall over from anything other than force or exhaustion. "In any case it's nice to meet you Revel, you alright from the little fall?"

Revel felt like swearing, but her relief at not being attacked counterbalanced it and to her credit she kept her mouth shut. "I got kicked in the head by a deer and since then my legs haven't worked right," she explained, deciding with a touch of reckless courage to come clean. "As far as the fall hurting me, yes, I'm okay." She started positioning for a try at getting up. "You uh....you on your own, too?" It must be obvious that I am. I must have lost more weight than I even had on me. She _had_, in truth, lost an awful lot of weight, having been forced to scavenge what she could. Revel hadn't been able to catch anything since she'd been injured.

He winced when she told him her story, thinking that it could have been a lot worse though. Deer kick to the skull? She was lucky her skull didn't burst like a fruit and that just her footing was a little wacky. He thought it would be rude to say so though, legs not working properly could be just as fatal. It would mean she couldn't properly hunt, and in fact she looked very skinny.

Alone too... so she didn't have others. At least he sort of had a little group. Kiio and Flea readily accepted him... Zen not so much. So he had to trail behind, like usual. still he thought it was better than nothing. He would hate to be an actual lone wolf, their life style seemed so... depressing. "Alone in a manner of speaking." Ah crap... "It's not very fun, is it? You know... you won't survive if you don't find someone to help care for you." His ears flicked slightly and he sighed. "With the legs and lack of hunting and all.."

His ears perked up and he slowly sat up. "Aren't you starving?"

"Ha. Definitely." Having finally gotten her legs under her, she pushed up. It was a little iffy for a moment, but she did stand. "I do very much want to find...if not a new home, then friends at least." Elan...I wonder what you're doing now... she thought. I think I lost my mind, for a moment there. Where are you...? Where am I? "I don't know what happened to the last friend I found. It's something of a blank. He had taken me home with him to get better, you know, after being kicked, but then I'm blanking between then and when I found myself somewhere else." She didn't know it, but she'd run away in a strange fit of physically trauma-induced insanity. It hadn't happened again since then, and probably wouldn't, but it left her with a space she couldn't fill in.

New home... some friends... ah. So she wasn't entirely alone... just separated. Taken her home to get better? Lii was sure that was all the male had in mind. He frowned and shifted, obviously thinking hard over something. His gaze flicked up toward her. "Tell you what, you can come with my friends and I." He hoped he wouldn't regret this... "They're wonderful, very charming. I figure it would provide you with food and companionship and you know... you could look for that friend as we go along our way. There are three others besides me..."

He beamed at her. "Actualy, my father and aunt and a close friend of my father's." Even if Zen didn't believe that Lii was his son, Lii would convince him! "Really terrific bunch.." He added again, neglecting to mention that he traveled behind them rather than with them.

"I don't...I'd have thought he would follow me. He didn't, so...maybe he doesn't care if he sees me again." She didn't want to think that, but what other explanation could there be for his not following her? She knew she'd have had to walk from there to here, and given her slow pace getting from where she recovered her mind to here, he should have been able to catch up long ago. "I would love to come...if they'll have me...but I doubt they'll put up with my travel speed. If you think they might, will...will you ask them?" Revel looked hopeful, but at the same time afraid to hope for such a thing. Who would take a wolf that couldn't really even walk?

It wasn't like they were headed in any direction anyhow, why should it matter how fast or slow they traveled? After a moment he smiled, nodding. "Mmm, you know what? I think I should bring them back this way." Yes... well he'd have to convince Flea to convince Zen. Kiio would be fine with whatever... it seemed like she just followed along with whatever the two boys wanted anyhow.

"Would you be alright with that?" He was already forming a plan, yes. What would it matter if they stayed in this area for a little while at least? "And once they meet you and stuff I am sure they will love to hang around and help you get your strength up." He meant the hunting of course... "There's tons of game around these parts anyhow." He said knowingly, even though he hadn't a clue if it was true or not.

Revel really perked up at that. "Yes please!" Her tail wagged hopefully. "Thank you!"

(OOC: Sorry this post is so short, but that's all there is to say to that XD Go ahead and bring the others in.)
