___███████████████████████████████ █████████████████ ███████████

___It was a bright, sunny Monday morning when Alice awoke to the sound of her alarm blaring its annoying sound to get her out of bed. "Aaaaarrgh! Shut up already!" Alice groaned, smacking the "snooze" button on the top of the machine. Sitting up, Alice rubbed her eyes, and pulled the curtains closed over her window. The bright morning light shining through did quite a number on her eyes, and she didn't need a headache on the first day back to school.

___Summer vacation was finally over, and Alice was dreading the new school year. Not so much the work, since she was a straight A student, but moreso the people at school. Since the first grade, Alice was a victim of the popular girls torture. They would shout derogatory comments at her when she walked to school, and then they would knock books out of her arms when she was walking in the halls. It was horrible, but for some reason Alice tollerated it. She didn't quite know why herself, but it was probably because she didn't want to bother anyone with the issue...

___After getting up, having a quick shower and getting dressed into her usual attire of jeans and a simple purple sweater, Alice made her way downstaires into the kitchen where her mother was making breakfast. "Good morning honey! I'm making you blueberry pancakes. A good breakfast will help you make it through the first day of school!" Her mother said cheerily when Alice entered the kitchen.

___Alice smiled at her mother and sat down at the table. "Thanks mom! They smell delicious!" She said happily. Her mother was such a wonderful parent, and Alice sometimes didn't give her credit. There was so much Alice kept from her parents, especilly the problems at school. Alice just felt like if she told her parents about her problems, they wouldn't understand. "So, do you have any plans made for after school?" Her mother asked, setting a hot plate of pancakes down in front of her daughter.

___"No... I might hang out with Rael, or go to the library." Alice said, taking her fork and sticking it into the pancakes. A concerned look crossed her mothers face, and she sat down across from her daughter. "I know that being a teenager makes you think that your parents are uncool, but you have to know that you can talk to me. I worry about you..."

___ Her mother's words hit her like a punch square in the stomach. Alice stopped eating for a moment, and looked at her mom. "I don't think you're uncool! I love you and Dad so much, and would never keep anything important from you. I can promise that there is nothing you need to worry about." This was a lie of course, but Alice just didn't have the heart to tell her mom the truth right now.

___Once she was finished with breakfast, Alice grabbed her gray pleathy bookbag, said goodbye to her parents, and made her way out the door. She usually met up with her best friend, Azrael to walk to school together. Not only did she just walk to school with him because hwas her best friend, but also because the popular girls at school tended to keep their distance when Alice was around him. It wasn't the only reason she was friends with him, but it was a bonus. After years of being harassed at school, it was wonderful to have such a great friend like Rael, who doubled as a body guard, as she often told him.

Yawning heavily, a mass of blankets stirred on a low mattress. A pale hand reached out, slamming down on a blaring alarm clock for the third time that morning. One could not clearly see the individual buried beneath the mass of sheets, though they could infer their gender from the mere size of the hand left hanging over the edge of the bed. The rest of the young man was buried under a mound of blankets; at least two separate comforters were visible, along with a fleece blanket and sheets of flannel. Had his house been made of glass, this would certainly draw confused looks. Though it was September, such an excessive amount of coverings was not completely necessary to stay warm. This person, however, had built himself a thick cocoon of extreme heat; and he liked it.

Surveying the small room, one could tell that the occupant of the bed had little spare change; though every spare surface was covered in clothing, more blankets, or random things, one could tell from the condition of the room and multiple objects that this was not necessarily the nicer end of town. Looking to the door, one notes the head of a dark skinned girl peeping through the crack. After a moment, the late preadolescent girl throws the door open and throws herself onto the bed. "Big brother, big brother! Wake up, or you'll be late!" she cries, clinging to the moving mass through the blankets. Slowly, but surely, the pale hand pushed back the blankets entangling what one could rightfully assume to be the head attached to the same body. A low grunt could be heard from beneath the barrier of cloth, and the girl's brother flails a bit in an attempt to free himself.

At last breaking free, the teen revealed sits up, causing the girl to tumble down the foot of his bed in the process. "That's what you get for jumping on me." he tells his younger sister, only half joking. Yawning heavily, he eventually manages to disentangle the rest of his body from the blankets. The girl sitting at the edge grins at him, jumping up and racing across the room. "I put some clothes for you in the bathroom. If you don't hurry, you'll make Alice wait too long." she scolds him jokingly, slipping out into the hall and away. Stretching his back, the red head disdainfully moves out his room and down the hall to the bathroom.

Reappearing some twenty minutes later, the boy raises an eyebrow at the attire his sister had picked out for him; a plain, short-sleeved white shirt and stressed jeans that had once been terribly plain. It was average, he supposed, and felt no need to change. He hadn't the time, and it wasn't as if he ever wore anything fancier. The V in the shirt was a little sharper than he'd like, the material a bit too small as if run through the wash a few times too many. He moved back to his room, snatching up the plain black cord on which hung a simple silver medallion. He shoved it into his pocket, reaching to grab a slightly wrinkled red V-neck sweater. Making his way out of the room while pulling on the sweater, he nearly trips down the stairs, though somehow manages not to die. "I'm leaving!" he calls over his shoulder, snatching up his faded backpack before slamming the front door.

Azrael moved swiftly through the alleys of his lower class neighborhood, the house quality increasing as he neared the street that Alice lived on. Stopping on the corner where they usually met, he turned down the street in time to see her leave the house. A grin spread across his face, and one arm raised to wave energetically. "Heeeeey!" he calls, drawing the attention of a few passersby. Many smiled or laughed to themselves, used to the kid's actions by now. "Alice!" he calls again, to ensure he had her attention as he moved at a leisurely pace towards her.

ride the wind and don't look back

Alenna rose to the greeting warmth of the sun filtering through her cream colored curtains and the sound of her mother calling her name.
A soft smile lit her face and love filled her heart and she slid off of her oversized bed and padded across the hardwood to the stairs.
"I'm up!" She called back, then she ran to the bathroom to get ready for school.

"Mornin' Princess! You ready to go?" Her father greeted when she came down to the kitchen.
"YES!" She said with enthusiasm, grabbing her backpack from the table.
She kissed her mom goodbye and ran out after her father to the van and jumped into the passenger seat.
"Let's ROLL!" She cheered; pumping her fist into the air.

When they arrived at the school she suddenly beacame nervous; brushing at her skinny jeans and making sure they were stuffed neatly down into her boots before straightening her red, frilly blouse.
"You okay hun?" Her dad asked as he watched her little freak out.
"Y-yeah... Yeah I'm fine daddy," She stammered, pecking him on the cheek before climbing out of the van.

♔ Yours Truly xxxThe White designed curtains hanging over the window with icy blue ancient patterns on it were still down. There was no light inside the Guardian Lady's room even a single peeking light. The long, wide, thick curtains were really covering the transparent, slight thick, glassed window as if the lady inside doesn't want to let anybody see her from the outside. The light from her phone stopped blinking from last night as it was connected to the charger then to the plug itself. "NNNnnnnn....." the deep sound of the aircon sounded, but the sound was like a whisper so it cannot wake anybody up. The temperature of the room is really cold as if it was winter already. Some of her Maids and Butlers don't understand her when it comes to coldness it seems that she doesn't feel any coldness at all, but they try to understand even though its a bit strange and odd.
The door knob turned right as it opens. A short haired woman with a height of 5,0 walked inside quietly having one towel hanging from her left arm. She stopped and looked at her Mistress still sleeping and blinked three times straight. After that she turned around and walked towards the bathroom and opened the door quietly "five, four.. three... two... one..." she muttered as the clock on top of the side table near The Guardian Lady's Queen sized bed sounded causing her to turn to her left and cover her ears with the blanket. The Maid hanged it on the bars and went out of the bathroom and quickly went out of her room since she forgot to tell to ready the car.
The Icy blue alarm clock went louder causing for her to turn to her right near the side table where the alarm clock is located, she lifted her right hand and pressed the snooze button. "Summer's over..." she muttered and lifted her self up in a sitting position. Her hair slided down in front of her chest as she tossed the blanket using her left hand on the left side. Quickly she lifted herself up and finally got up. Kasumi walked towards the curtains and pulled the fancy rope hanging beside her as the curtains opened. The Sun's raise flashed to her as well as her dark room, it got in contact with her fair skin making her rub her arm for once only.
30 minutes after she got up she was in her uniform already except for her sandals. She was wearing a 2 inched heels black stiletto. Quickly she took her lesson plan located inside her drawer along with her portfolio. She took her bag containing her laptop, pens, correction tape, I-pod shuffle and more. After her other necessities she took her LG Optimus phone and removed the charger connected to it. “The Assembly will start at exactly 7:40 am..” she muttered and went out of her room and went down the stairs as well. ”Here’s your coffee Madam..” her butler said handing her, her coffee. “Thank You..” she replied softly and smiled slightly. Kasumi took her coffee and started drinking it little by little. It wasn’t that hot but she was careful just so not to spill even a single drop of coffee in her uniform.
After one minute she walked out of the mansion through the Entrance door and walked towards her car. The door was already opened so she went inside and sat down on the driver’s sit. She placed her bag and her other necessities on the death sit and took the key from her other butler who was standing near the door “Thank you..” she said softly again repeating what she said but saying it to a different person. She inserted the car key and closed the car door. From the distance the Tall and Wide Gate is finally open. Kasumi drove out and headed to School.
10 minutes later she was already inside the school campus sitting in front of her desk inside the Faculty room where she was the first teacher who arrived. "Still got one hour.." she muttered to herself sighing a bit. The Aircon is working already as well as inside the other classrooms and the function room where the Assembly will be held. The function room can hold 500 people inside plus there's also a stage and chairs inside.
"A bit hungry.." she said softly looking around "I can still hold it, anyway after The Morning assembly Everyone has 25 minutes of Recess..." she added and opened her bag and took her I-pod shuffle. Kasumi closed her bag and clipped her I-pod on her pocket, she inserted the earphones inside her ears and switched it on as it started playing ~Tooi Michi no Sake de~ started playing. She went out of the faculty room bringing her phone with her.

A pair of knowing blue eyes, a challenging crimson smirk, a pale poker face, an icy heart...

XXXXXXXXXXXX Alex Minnè Engler, a strong, sophisticated-looking woman and current esteemed Earth Guardian, released a large, unladylike yawn as she walked out of her homey apartment with a shoulder bag in hand and keys in the other. Ruffling her long, wavy hair, she went to her motorbike which was parked at the side, sat on the comfy seat, and started the engine, the loud roar of the bike awakening Alex' senses completely. Oh, how she just love that sound...

A smirk on her naturally red lips, she drove down the road and towards the school, not bothering to wear even a helmet, laughing silently from the exhilarating and dangerous feeling of the world moving fast in her blue eyes. Although she slowed down the speed once she saw students walking at the pavements, looking around a moment for a sign of her Earth prince, before continuing on towards the school parking lot. She would have to meet him later as the English teacher; hopefully the prince would be on her class.

After setting her bike at one of the corners, Alex stepped down and strolled inside the building, the soft tapping sound of her high-heeled boots the only sound in the empty corridors, intent on going to the faculty room to get a bit of an alone time and a coffee before she have to meet her students. Entering the room, Alex ignored the other teachers that were there, only giving a small, polite smile and swiftly went to her own table, sitting down with a heavy sigh.

"Ah... I'm still sleepy..." she muttered as another yawn threatened to come out of her mouth but she held it in. She should not have stayed too late last night but what could she do, especially when the situation last night was highly interesting... Biting back a semi-malicious smirk from her lips, Alex instead settled at a rare quiet giggle, remembering the impromptu fight she was involved in after checking if her charge has gotten home safely.

"That man had a really strong punch, I admit..." she whispered to no one. Shaking her head to remind herself that it was not time for her to reminiscing, she took out a file of papers from her drawer and skimmed through them, faces of her students and names being registered by her mind. Alex chewed her lower lip when she saw pictures of students that looked like delinquents by the way they dressed and their facial expression. "Seems like I'm going to have a bit of trouble in class..."

Setting the file down, she stood up and walked towards the coffee maker situated at one of the corners next to the entrance and exit door. She made a small cup for herself and sipped it, letting the bitter taste warm her tongue. Alex leaned on the wall besides the machine and continued to drink her coffee; it's not like she likes the drink, she just found out that it makes the tiredness or sleepiness she often have in the morning fade away. Not to mention, she needed to be more ready and alert if she's going to confront teenagers all day. Honestly, her first day of being a teacher at a new school and Alex was already hoping to quit. But her prince was here so she have to endure it for the time being. And I could get a kick at torturing those students of mine with difficult, long, overly-descriptive vignettes. Maybe...

Going back to her table, Alex looked down at the watch attached to her wrist for the time, before throwing the empty paper cup in hand at the nearest trash can.

...a warm azure gaze, a sincere smile of freedom, a fond, laughing look, a compassionate, steadily beating heart.

___As Alice made her way down the street towards the school, the sun rose higher and higher into the sky, getting brighter as it rose, the temperature rising significantly along with it. This was to be expected on a late summer day. Most would even consider this a perfect summer day. And yet, Alice couldn't wait for the day to be over. Because, when the day was over, then the sun would go down, the moon would come out, and it would be nighttime. Alice loved the night. Far more than she loved the daytime in fact. She loved it for the cool air it brought, and for the quietness that came when everyone else was asleep. When the stars shone in the deep blue sky, Alice felt at peace, and completely content with the world. That time seemed to be the only time when she ever felt it... that sence of belonging.

___Looking up when she heard a fermiliar voice in the distance, a bright smile crossed Alice's face when she saw just who was standing at the corner. "Azrael!" She called back, waving excitedly. She then started to walk a bit faster, and faster still until she was jogging to the corner of the street to meet her friend. "Hi!" Alice said, stopping abruptly to stand, a little out of breath, in front of Azrael. "You're right on time! Shall we continue on then?" She stated, not so much as a question, and then began tugging lightly on Azrael's sleeve, pulling him in the direction of school.

___While they walked, Alice stayed pretty close to Rael. Not too close to make it awkward, but just close enough where she could hide behind him if one of those popular girls decided to come waltzing over. "So, how did you like summer?" She asked, trying to make some casual conversation until they reached the school.

Her iPod saved her from an anxiety attack when she caught sight of the massive crowd waiting for the doors to be opened.
Celtic Woman's "Danny Boy" filtered into her ears and she smiled before greeting groups of friends and stopping to talk to a few.
Since she was among the volunteers to help with the assembly, she wondered if she should go straight to the room it was to be held in or go elsewhere.

"Excuse me,"She yelled to a teacher who happened to be passing by, "Where do the volunteers go when the doors open?"
"You can go eat and everything, but make sure to be down there at least five minutes early."

She nodded; content with the answer and returned to the throng of teens.

Azraelstood on the corner, rocking back on his heels in impatience for Alice to reach him. He grinned as she came jogging up, pausing just long enough to catch her breath before dragging him on towards the school. Taking note of the proximity of which she stood to him, he wondered if something was bothering her. Was she worried about the first day of school? That much was understandable; things were bound to be hectic. He couldn't help but wonder if she was remembering the happenings of last year, and her run ins with the more popular students. Man, he hated that term. Popular? Yeah, right. The meaning of the word took on a whole new form when used in the halls of a school building.

"I had to get a job." he responds, his shoulder slumping forward with the admission. Jobs meant less time for naps, and whatever else he felt like doing; he was more a spur of the moment kind of guy than one who planned things. Though he'd gained a bit of pocket money from his part time job, the majority of it had gone to the family funds; food, clothing, bills. That kind of thing. Perking up after a moment, his hands move to his pockets as they continue on. "Otherwise it was alright. My little sister and I went to our grandparents' house in Colorado. It was a nice break." he shrugs, admitting that his break wasn't too eventful. "Mostly I worked, or got hauled around by my sister. Nothing too exciting." he turns his head to look at her, a small smile forming once again. "What about you? Your break must have been way more eventful."

His head turned to take in the other students around them, all heading towards the same place. Too many of them, in his opinion. It was bound to be crowded at the doors, and quite honestly, large groups of people just bothered him. Adjusting the backpack strap on his shoulder, he glances down at the girl walking at his side. Rael wondered if she'd be alright this year, though he doubted the multiple fights he'd nearly gotten in last year had done anything to deter the teasing. Especially the girls... always so sure he wouldn't hit them. Whatever happened to equal rights? They could have them, or chivalry; never both. This didn't, however, mean he didn't believe in common courtesy. Sighing quietly to himself, he turns his attention back to where he was walking.

xxxWith a slight yelp, Sayge's bright blue eyes popped open and her whole upper body moved upward with quite a bit of speed as she nearly threw herself off her bed and onto the floor, "Shoot! I over slept!" Of course, both of her parents worked very early, so she was usually getting up on her own. Pulling out some clothes quickly, then running into her bathroom, she showered quickly then ran back to her room, got dressed quickly, brushed her long hair, put her make up on, and grabbed her bag, nearly tripping and falling down the stairs as she tried to put on a pair of flats. Seeing a note for her left stuck to the fridge by a magnet, she paused for a moment to read it, then smiled, it was a note from her mother, "Sorry we couldn't be home to see you off sweety. Try to have a good first day back, and try to make new friends, okay? We'll see you once we get home. We won't be home until after 5 o'clock today. Feel free to make anything for yourself for dinner. Neither your father or I have anything planned." Ripping the paper from the fridge, she stuffed it into her pocket and ran for the door. She didn't live to far from the school, so it was a pretty pleasant walk when she did decide to walk. She just loved to walk on the first day, though she never understood why.

xxxAs she arrived at the school, Sayge looked around excitedly, brushing her bangs out of her facce, she smiled and waved to the boys and girls that passed by her, already finding their original groups and such. Of course, she belonged to the popular group, but she liked to take her time and just go around and talk to everyone before sticking to one group. It made her happier for some reason to just see everyone, and not just the same faces, same gossip, and so on and so forth all the time. As she walked to go into the school, she could almost feel and hear all the people talking and staring about her and at her, whether it be bad, good, or just down right inappropriate. But she just kept smiling and waving to those who she knew. Pulling out her class shcedule, she looked at the top of it, next to her name, and her locker number and combination were scribbled down on the top of it, and with a small smile, she walked into the school, going straight to her locker, and as she arrived, she gently put her bag in and closed the locker, then peered around, up and down the hall, wondering if there was anyone she really desired to hang out with. Sicne most of her friends would probably be either talking about their boyfriend or girlfriend, or wanting one, and she wasn't really interested in hearing stuff like that, since it only depressed her.

xxxShaking off her thoughts, Sayge turned and walked towards the library. As she entered the library, she looked around the books, running her fingers over the backs of them slowly, looking over the titles and the authors as she went. She wasn't looking for anyone in particular, she was just looking for an interesting name, and maybe a book she had read before, since she had read many books now. Pulling a book off a shelf about some supernatural existences, she smiled and opened it up, reading the front cover, then the first page, taking interest in what she was seeing already. With promise of a good read already, she went up to the librarian, and Sayge couldn't help but be thankful that the librarian was there early, and as she checked out the book, she thanked the woman quietly and left the library, now just roaming the halls, looking around curiously at the new faces, and the familiar ones. Still waving and greeting those who she knes.

A pair of knowing blue eyes, a challenging crimson smirk, a pale poker face, an icy heart...

XXXXXXXXXXXX Alex stood up from sitting on her comfy chair inside the faculty room, lifting a file of papers and an English grammar book in hand. After checking her watch for the time once again, Alex nodded to herself that it was nearly time for class to start, or at least she thought it was nearly time to start. Nonetheless, at least she would still have some alone time before the rowdy students come in. With that thought, Alex walked out of the faculty room and headed to the third floor of the building wherein her homeroom/English class, room 306, was located.

Opening the door, she took a step in and swept the room with her azure gaze, taking in the rows of empty chairs and tables, before walking to her table up front. She placed her book and papers on the neat oak table and stretched her arms like a cat. Sitting down on the table, her left leg folding on the other, Alex took a strip of cloth from the pocket of her thigh-length, black skirt and tied her hair in a messy ponytail.

"Now, I wait. Ah, the waiting part is always the annoying one." she muttered to herself, tipping her back and head further backwards with her hands on the table supporting her. As the time ticked away, Alex entertained herself by recalling the days of her apprenticeship; the first meeting between her and the former Earth Guardian, the tasks and challenges laid in front of her, the numerous books, scrolls, scripts that she had read repeatedly inside her predecessor's home. Those things and others were the only ones that made her life exciting, especially those challenges given to her. She can still remember the smirk on the former Earth Guardian's lips when he told her her missions for the day and always was her response consisted of a excited and eager grin and haughty, confident reply.

"Ah... Those were the days..."

...a warm azure gaze, a sincere smile of freedom, a fond, laughing look, a compassionate, steadily beating heart.

___Alice walked alongside Rael quietly, listening intently as he spoke about his summer. The part about the job didn't sound very pleasent, considering the kind of person Rael was... Hearing about his time in Coloroda also struck a nerve. Alice always felt a little bit jealous of Rael because he had a little sister. She had always wanted a little sister herself, but her parents had there reasons for not having another child... "Wow. Sounds like you had a good summer!" She said, smiling at him. "My summer was okay... I spent a fair bit of it in Switzerland, skiing. I also spent a bit of time in New York, since my Dad was on a buisness trip so me and my Mom decided tagged along. I visited the Metropolitan, and Central Park." While she told him about her Summer, she knew it was a bit more eventful than Rael's, but to Alice, flying around the world on vacation didn't mean anything without your family. Rael got to spend time with his family, and Alice barely got to see her family...

___As they approached the school, Alice subconsiously moved closer to Rael. She knew she was safe around him, and that chances were nobody would come around to bother her, but out of fear she stayed close to Rael. Too much had happened in the past for her to take the people at school lightly. In only a few short years, she had had gotten a pretty good idea of the capacity an average human had to be cruel... Alice remembered this one girl, that would find her on purpose, push her around, and torment her almost every hour of the day. No one would stand up to this girl. They just stood back and watched while Alice got tortured. She was never really completely sure why people just stood back, but she figured it was either because they were scared, or they enjoyed watching her suffer... That was, until she became friends with Rael, then her whole life changed. He was the best best friend she had ever had, and Alice would remember that until the day she died.

Paying close attention as she recounted her own summer, Rael frowned fiercely. "Both such cold places." he shook his head, explaining his reasons for frowning. He hated the cold. Besides that, he couldn't ski. Just picturing himself on a mountainside with the long sticks strapped to his feet made him shiver. However, he couldn't help but grin as the image of him went crashing down the mountain, hitting everyone and everything in his way. Still, he would have loved traveling out of the country, though he was much more likely to go to Africa or Australia if given the choice. European countries seemed so cold....

Approaching the school, he noted Alice moving even closer. He sighed inaudibly, always wishing that she's fight back. Rael knew that this would be extremely unlikely, but that didn't stop him from extending the hope. She always just stood there and took it, not even opting to run away; worst of all, he was the only one who ever stepped up to stop it. It disgusted him that the other students just stood back and let it happen, and he had had multiple arguments with his other friends for doing nothing. His eyes roved over the faces of the other students, waving at a few individuals and glaring at a number more. "And so we have arrived to the daily torture machine." he announces, a small smile curling his lips upward at one side. He continued to look over their classmates, taking note of the more popular crowd; Alice was one of their favorite targets. Casually leading his friend to the opposite end of the mass of students, the redhead eventually comes to a stop between the La Crosse team and the Goths. "What classes do you have this year?" he glances down at the girl by his side, still smiling faintly.
