I think it's a good time to think about what we want to 'change' or 'better' or 'start' in the New Year.. I believe in envisioning tasks you want to complete, and setting goals to do so (easier said than done; but with practice can become easier to do.. and be very rewarding)
At the end of the year I also think about things I wanted to do for the past year and what worked/didn't work.
Here are some of mine (applicable to the guild) for this next year smile (don't mind the grammar and comments, I only have limited time here! baby is only napping razz )
-keep it up with buying local/organic fruits/veggies (we're doing good so far, atleast before s.510 starts~~ might as well add that I want to freeze/store my fruits/veggies too when I can get them on sale!)
-buy organic meats in bulk from shops rather than meats from grocery store with steriods/antibiotics/additives/preservatives (we already started to buy meat antibiotic/preservative free from grocery store, but it's still not grass fed - still a step up though imo)
-keep drinking more water (clean, filtered, no fluoride or chlorine, etc) (something I find difficult - I hated water as a child, and drank mostly kool-aid and juice from concentrate... I drink water/tea these days just need to force myself to drink more more more water)
-keep up with (daily) supplements- multivitamin(high quality/high absorbtion), greens/protein drink, vit d, among others..
-visit more health food stores than grocery stores. even just to browse. you can learn a lot and see whats on the market and what prices are affected.. etc.etc. many benefits.
-exercise more. less aerobic, more muscle building/weight building core/balance stuff.. The more you do something regularly - even just starting once a week, then twice, and so on - the more of a habit it will become. I do have to tell myself this quite a bit...
-keep switching household products to better/cleaner/less harmful ones. I already do not use conventional hair products or floor/kitchen cleaners.. vinegar, baking soda, lemon, essential oils, etc are main items..
-keep switching makeup brands too. (used to use all cheap stuff, but actually spent a good chunk of money on some (more) organic ones - not that i even wear a lot of makeup.. after these run out(not for a long time), I will be looking for completely chemical free stuff. Something you put on your face, body or in your mouth or nose daily or almost daily should NOT be loaded with chemicals.. and where possible - when I have the choice, i will choose not to. Most are just WANTS not NEEDS anyway.
-keep checking labels to anything and everything. smile look up what you don't recognize...
-stay informed as much as possible about the country and world events. (the ones that matter~ so this means closing facebook and getting away from the folders of your friends friends sisters party pictures and taking that time to read a few articles, etc)~ aka, try to spend time wisely smile do you REALLY need to look up 50 different childhood cartoons to answer a quiz? etc~ sometimes the answer is yes, but more and more I say no and move on razz
-learn more sustainable/survival skillz.
uh k, it looks like I got off track a few times there.. but that's a start. I know i left some out. but as I said, I only have so much time. razz
smile
my main goal is to teach my daughter as much as possible with the time I have with her (which goes by ENTIRELY too fast.). and mainly teach her by doing so myself. smile
add your own resolutions, or suggest to mine! heart

exercise is such a common new years resolution and it will be mine for the next year. I want to buy a recumbent bike and do peak 8 exercises 3 times a week and the other 4 days strength training.
i should also try to find some local truthers, or open minded people to befriend. people i can talk to about subjects of the guild, I'm so tired of my sheep friends.
i want to buy BPA free 5 gallon water bottles maca root powder and other supplements
if i play ffxiv i want to make sure i don't get addicted again and divide my time up between the game, reality and self education appropriately.

I'd like to finish fixing up my new(1986) fold up bike and start riding again so i can participate in the local metric ride next october! smile
I also want to do more self educating and learn.
I also need to continue on with classes and all, which cost me a bloody fortune, and its tempting to just drop off(paying all out of my OWN pocket and working to pay for my college).
I need more free/cheap hobbies. I found a $5 gameboy advance emulator in the android app store, and I have a friend whom knows of an amazing site where you can DL bascially any game fore free *shhh!!!!* so my android will likely become my gaming system of choice. razz
Errr, I guess stay up to date on what happens in the world. It feels like i never have ANY time, but i listen to a TON of podcasts of shows like Democracy Now! Citizen radio, etc, at work, so I end up doing more than just working at work, im also staying current while doing my job, but still.
Also make/get an RFID blocking wallet because therre is an RFID in my work ID so I can enter the machine shop. That way big brotha keeps his hand outta mah pants(joke). The thing(RFID) scares the CRAP outta me!
EDIT: I also need to learn how to manage my time more efficiently. My boyfriend gave me a link to an AMAZING android task app, which I use a lot, but overall, my time is still tight.
Spend more time with those I care about... Depressingly It's not my family. :[
Finish prepping to move out of my parent's house. I've had it up to here*waves over my head* with them, and even in childhood have despised them. So I plan to move out as soon as i get the opportunity, because I prolly piss them off as much as they do me. This will also give me a chance to donate a ton of my extra stuff and downsize all my belongings.

Thanks for replying Sakakikala smile
Those are some good resolutions... most of which I'm going to be doing (hopefully) too razz
Managing time better is obviously a huge issue for me... I'm always trying to get more organized! ><
I hacked my DS and have around 600 games for it that I could play... but I really don't have the time any more :/ I wish... razz amongst my list of 'things I want to do: 2011' - saying 'no' to certain luxuries is one of them.. giving up game time is part of that :/ There are other things that take precidence at the moment in my opinion.
Also: It took being out of my parents place for years and years and then having a daughter just recently to show me how important it is to try to get along with family and keep in touch... I've learned a lot recently, actually ;P
thnx again ^^
It's weird talking in a forum where you don't know much at all about anyone. Seems many here like to be anonymous.. I don't really care that much. I link articles and 'conspiracy' stuff to my facebook all the time. I might as well use it for something good~ So I can't really 'hide' my identity from those who could be watching as it's all over facebook what my interests are~
errr i ramble
thanks for sharingg <3
annnnd I add this to my resolutions: Since I need to find a job now (maternity leave ended a whiiile ago~ things are tight) any extra money above and beyond bills and what is needed is going for Gold and Extra food. Buying 2 of everything preservable that I need for a while and building up a supply. (I guess this really falls under the 'survival' point? ohwell) My hubby already agreed it's fine with him. (I bet he will still go buy his giant tv he wants though - laaame)
Mei - don't get addicted to a game! - I like chatting w/ you! razz You'll be online even lessss razz
