The tradition is also to have a free plate and place for an unexpected guest (a wanderer). So - any door you hit, they will host you smile .

Woah kas, that's a whole lotta courses for a Christmas dinner. o.O We typically have a ham or turkey and in some parts of Finland Lutefisk, which is lipeäkala in Finnish. I would never ever want to eat that. D: We also eat a lot of "laatikkoruoka" at X-mas, which is not boxfood as what it literally translates to. biggrin I guess it could be a sort of casserole... but not quite. The typical "laatikko" are made of swedes (no, not the people), carrots, liver or potatoes. This is what a carrot laatikko looks like: picture.

Digital Malevolence Should have a real fish, like bass or trout, or my favorite, swordfish. I'm on board with the bass and the swordfish, but trout isn't a good fish for eating imo. What about halibut instead?

What about halibut instead? Rainbow trout is delicious. mad What about Haddock instead. I can't remember what halibut tastes likes like, I've only had it once.

We used to catch and eat a lot of trout when I lived in California... too many little bones for my taste. There was a breed of spotted trout (I think German) they had in some lakes around there that had a pretty good flavor, but rainbow trout I could take or leave. To each his own though.

If I can I will try halibut again if I can. little bones wont kill you. talk2hand also, I really don't tilapia.
