If the military were used as it is supposed to be used, the answer is most definitely yes. The entire point and only point of the military is homeland defense. At no point in time was the military supposed to go overseas. What we're doing now is unconstitutional and, because they chose to hold to the constitution and their morals, several soldiers were sent to prison. Corruption started with the government and now our military is being misused as a result.
One person in history, I think it may have been Jefferson, said something along the lines of warning us that if we go overseas looking for monsters we may become monsters ourselves.
Although I don't know exactly where they are and haven't read previous posts, there are scriptures in the bible that do support being in the military. Serving and defending your country are not sins and killing is in some cases justified.
