It was definitely easy to see that winter was just around the corner. The cold wind bustled through the area, harshly punishing any who dared to venture into its path without proper protection. Luckily, the youths were tucked away in one of the caves, out of the wind's reach as they waited for the adults' arrivals.
The purple-haired teen peered over the cliff-side, keeping an eye out for the new parents as she braved the wind's biting chill. This was going to be super-de-duperdy fun! She got to give two kids to their new family! Jaella stood back up, taking her backpack off and heading back over to the two younger girls, smiling brightly.
"You guys want some cookies?" she asked, pulling the crinkly package out of her bag. "They're snickerdoodle-chocolate chip-fudge supreme!" she chirped, holding the the tasty morsels out to the girls. "Or do you need another blanket? You can have mine if you need it." She smiled at the kids, trying her best to keep them comfortable until their new parents came.

Zasha giggled and got to her feet, twirling around in the constant warm air that surrounded her. "Why would I need a blanket? It's nice and warm!" She knew she was being silly, but she just couldn't sit still for long. Sitting still was boring and she'd much prefer running around and doing something fun to sitting still and waiting quietly. "I don't see why we can't go meet them ourselves - why do they have to come here?" The summer-twin beamed an excited smile at the purple-haired teen and bounced around the cave again, twirling once over to hug her sister briefly before resuming her state of constant motion. Never once did it cross her mind that they might be getting truly separate guardians. That wasn't possible, was it?

Chris hated the cold. With a passion. It froze her paints, made stone absolutely chilling to the touch, and she'd once gotten her hand frozen to a chisel while working on a sculpture last week! Curiosity, however, was stronger than her hate of cold weather, and the petite artist simply pulled her knit cap down tighter over her feathery-blonde curls and squinted against the wind, trying not to be blown over by the force of the gale as she made her way up to the caves.
Hopefully the people who lived there would have some hot chocolate!

Karina blinked languidly in the direction of Jaella, pursing her lips and politely shaking her head. "No thank you, Miss Jaella. I'm fine." A thin trail of mist curled upwards from her pallid lips in the chill of the winter air, puffing upwards with every shallow breath. Not that she payed it any heed; she was more than used to the chill of winter. It was something she couldn't escape - at least not without her twin at her side. And seeing as said twin was currently bouncing around the cave like she'd just been fed three shots of espresso, she was stuck with the chill.

There were very few things in the universe that could drag Thindaur out of the warmth of his home on a day such as this. The enigmatic letter he'd received in the mail earlier this week instructing him to be at Durem's caves on this day was one of them. If one thing could be said of the elf, it was that he was curious. (He liked to blame that particular aspect of his personality on Baran, even though he knew full well his familiar took after him.)
A particularly strong gust of wind caused him to stagger briefly, and he tugged his scarf a bit tighter around his neck. The last thing he needed was for that to blow away and leave his neck and ears half-frozen. Blue eyes narrowed at the thought, before scanning the expanse of rock before him. Surely it was around here somewhere...
Ah! There! Not too far away now, so it wouldn't be more than a minute before he could be out of the wind.

Jaella grinned, looking to the energetic girl who seemed to be all sunshine and warmth. "Sorry, forgot." she said, giggling a little. She then paused mid-giggle, finger rising to press against her lips as she thought. "I'm not sure....because Momma said they had to come here?" she replied, answering to the best of her ability. The teen nibbled on a cookie, pondering the question a bit more. She then offered Karina a bright smile, holding out another cookie with her other hand. "Cookie then?"
The girl's ears twitched; someone was coming. Someone was coming! Hooray! Now the girls could meet their new parents and get to go home to their new family! Like Zasha, Jaella was under the impression that they'd be kept together. After all, why would they be seperated? They were like peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies..... glitter and rainbows! The girl skipped over to the entrance of the caves, a bright smile plastering itself on her face as she waited to greet the arriving adults.

"Ooooh, okay, gotcha Miss Jaella," Zasha said, twirling in a circle again before plunking down next to her twin, sprawling half on top of Karina. "Come on, Kariiiiiiiiiii, relax, have fun! Don't sound so - so sleepy, silly! We're gonna meet our new parents! Isn't that just the most awesomest amazing thing EVER?!?" the summery twin drawled, peering up into her sister's violet eyes. "Come on, sis, smiiiiile! Like this!" And Zasha proceeded to pull her own lips apart with her fingers to make a silly smile.
---
Finally, she had reached her destination! Chris would have breathed a sigh of relief if she wasn't more interested in actually getting inside of the caves. Biting her lip, the blond peered around. "Hello? I'm here, like I was asked!" Privately, she looked around and wondered if she could try her hand at cave-painting sometime soon.
