Besides, even as a kid, I didn't get to play a lot of the great games that I can play now that they're being re-released.

Nope. Owned by respective companies. You never bought the games in the sense that you own them, you simply bought the permission to use it. Same with any CD's or movies that you purchase.

oh I know that, I just feel a sense of kinship with the old games is all, you know what I mean? like mario brothers on the NES, awesome game for its time and there is a connection there to when I was a kid. At least the memories are still mine until the corporations find a way to download them from my brain and sell them to people who don't want to actually play the games but still want the experience... hmmm, I think I just discovered a new way to make money, you supply the tech and I will sell you my memories!
