Even with drabbles as short as 150 words, I have noticed that there is a three-quarters hump that randomly sprouts up before me, where the scene and the characters have been introduced already, but I need to add a little meat before trying for a good ending line.
Sometimes I have to take a break from writing, watch something on Youtube or listen to a song in my head, to envision what my original intention for the fanfiction was. Usually I go into writing only having chosen the setting, the characters, and possibly the plot. The dialogue is on-the-spot, and the “meat” - the plot coming in and ending - is in the hands of my word flow.
Often, short fics such as drabbles have only the dialogue for plot. The conversation’s end is the sum of the fanfiction’s “meat.” These are usually a little easier to write, because dialogue is always a great set-up for a killer ending line.
But there are dozens of partially-completed fics in my computer, lost forever to the three-quarters hump that breaks my writing flow and discourages me from continuing. It’s as though a wall comes towering up from the abyss and blocks my way, every single time. If I really enjoy the characters I can usually push through, but as I said, there are many victims stuck on the other side of that wall, abandoned.
Does anyone else find themselves stuck sometimes, even with drabbles? What does it take to put some meat in your writing?

Okay, okay.. In all seriousness, yes I have gotten stopped by the hump.
Oddly enough, it happens more frequently with my more favored characters, Mulciber, Reg or any of the Death Eaters.
It's like I get in the right mindset and I'll have my music playing and I'll just write. Like I never plot Anything out for my fics unless there's a prompt and even then I just write what comes up in my head first thing.
My main problem that starts the hump is when I start to write to a song but then it changes via radio or playlist, OR I get tired of listening to it and don't know why I started to write it in the first place.
Here lately, I can't seem to write in enough background for fic and it just comes off like vague and it feels empty to me. :/

Snape Kitty and don't know why I started to write it in the first place. This has always been an issue of mine. I'll dive into writing and end up drowning in the splash of it, all tangled up in a rush of words that I can no longer remember the point of it. Or I'll feel like the writing went stale and who would want to read this anyway?
When I was sniffing around the NaNoWriMo website, however, I read this peptalk by Neil Gaiman and it made me feel a bit better about humps, stale points, and self-doubt.

Sandman. <333
Gaiman is ******** amazing man. He's up there with Stan Lee when it comes to comic creating and writing.
He seems like the type that would give a pep talk, too.
I want to try doing different writing styles for different characters.
Like I love, love, love writing for Reg in first person, and I typically hate that style, but it fits for him so well.

My probem is that I spend too much time fantasizing and by he time im able to write, ive already made the entire fic in my head and am done wih it and too bored of it to write it down. Or similarly i will start a fic and flash through everything hats supposed to happen in my head before i can write it all down, and then i get bored of finishing it or find it uninteresting to be posted.
What works for me is musing on one narrowed scene and doing it in different ways and then expanding it out into a fic. If i think slowly my typing can keep up and BLAM! Fic.
I thhink immaa write moar xeno/harry and godfrey at eleven being rrjectedfrom hogwarts. But not gonna think on it too much, just cling to a few.whispy ideas/moments.

@Kitty: I'd be interested in reading some first person fanfiction of Reg during, say, OotP. It still remains my favorite time era. X3
@Cassy: I have that trouble with verbal roleplaying. I flesh things out so completely I get bored with the concept. XD
And, yesssss, more Xeno/Harry (I'd like to see the evolution of their relationship) and lil' Godfrey.
