A tall woman walked slowly down the path toward the playground, her dress flowing around her ankles and her heels clicking against the pavement. Pointed ears came out frm her dark hair, and her eyes were slightly narrow as she glanced through half-specitcals. Her hair, which appeared to be curly, was pulled tight against the nape of her neck in a small bun, and she appeared very strict in her total appearence. To her right, clinging tightly to her hand, was a small, pale boy. His hair, also black, fell across her shoulders in lucious waves. His face, though thin, had a strange growth on the front that stood higher than his hairline, and covered his flat nose and fangs. His eyes, with red around them, were shut tight as he seemed to lean forward to the ground. And, surprisingly enough, his lower body did not consist of two legs, but a slowly slithering tail that weaved back and forth, back and forth. Had his eyes been open, maybe he would have seen the looks others gave him, but he was forced to keep his eyes closed, told from birth that nothing good would come from leaving his gaze on another.

He was here by himself. Or that's what his caregiver had told him. It wasn't that horrible, considering they lived a two minute walk from the playground. Currently he was the part pixie boy was in the sand box, sitting very, very carefully on the little wooden wall there, making a small castle. His thick tail was out of the box, in the grass. Those black eyes of his were peering oh so intently at the sand, as if he could see every little piece. Just as he was scooping up his little shovel full of sand the pixie sneezed which caused him to get dirt all over his pants and shirt. A cry came from his lips and he fluttered his wings, getting to his feet with tears in his eyes. "My shirt!" His clean little hand started dusting himself off but that didn't stop the tears. He had scared himself with the sneeze and gotten himself angry with the dirt. Therefore it was just a bad, bad start to his day. The little kid moved out of the sandbox completely and went over to the swings, sitting on one with a huge pout on his face gazing out.

The woman heard a loud sneeze as she paused with the snake-boy, her eyes snapping toward the sandbox as she watched the other toddler let out a cry. For a long moment she waited to see if anyone would come, and her lips pursed as the child moved to the swings still alone. Letting out a slight sigh, she turned back to the boy.
"Danithus, I've brought you to the playground..." she took a pause as a orange dragon-like creature slithered out from his hold, "your familiar will help you see, as we discussed...so are you ready to go play?"
A mute nod was returned, and the adult let out a nod before turning and going to a bench. As she sat down, she took out a phone and made a call, checking on her other child while keeping a keen eye on her son.
Danithus waited a long moment after his adopted mother walked away, before turning toward the squealing noise of the swing. When he was close enough, he paused with his eyes still closed.
