Just a note: #1 It's kinda long. #2 This is a revised version. The original had a different ending. #3 As I said, it's the beginning of a story. No concrete ending yet ><
The weather station had not mentioned anything about a possibility of rain. They had said it would be sunny all day long. There stood a cop in pouring rain, staring at the sky while a body lay at his feet. He wished he had brought a jacket, or coat, instead of just a hat. His instructions were to protect the body at all costs, as it was considered an invaluable research specimen for some corporation. He had been told he would only have to wait about ten minutes for backup to arrive, but he prayed they got there faster. He really didn't want to face those things alone.
As luck would have it however, he heard growling coming from an alleyway a few feet to his left. He pulled out his pistol, preparing himself for the things. They looked like a cross between a doberman and a orca in terms of teeth, but otherwise they looked like pumas. There were theories as to how they came to be, but no one had anything that seemed to come close to plausible. He shot the first one that moved, and got the second one as well. The third shot grazed one of the beasts and killed another. The one he had grazed clamped down on his leg with its jaws while another grabbed the arm holding the gun, causing him to scream and drop his gun.
At that point he heard gunfire coming from his left. He looked up to see the backup he'd been promised in the form of 3 officers. He got up, his leg bleeding profusely, and hobbled over to them. They looked at him and one of the officers said, “Hey, you okay man?” “Do I look-” His sentence was cut off in the middle by a gunshot to his head. "Leave him for them", the man who had shot the officer said, "We only came for the body."

I really want to find out what happens next and at the same time, I kinda dread what will happen next too, good job at writing this mystery/horror.
