The air was still, no breeze to carry scents, which was both good and bad, depending on the point of view. Sure, the prey couldn't smell you coming...but it helped to be able to find the prey first. The fanged female stalked silently over the earth, her head low to the ground, seeking out the slightest scent that might lead her to food. Or scents that might warn her of straying into other Krokotas' territory, there was that to look out for too. Still, even if she did come across another Krokotas' scent, if there was food as well, she might just risk a quick hunt and hope she didn't get caught. She was getting pretty hungry.
And there were other distractions about that weren't helping matters. "Nessyyyy! I'm hungry! Have you found anything yet?"Cringing, Vanessa whirled on the other female with a snarl, all the more impressive with her elongated fangs bared. "No! And if you don't be quiet, we'll never find anything 'cause you keep scaring all the food away! Now hush and help me hunt for something!"Isane halted, crouching down with her ears drooping sadly. "Sorry, Nessy...I forgot again." She missed the tired eyeroll from the pale female, instead slinking after her apologetically. It was no wonder they were hungry. The crazy blue-eyed female kept forgetting how to hunt. The only success they'd had recently was when Vanessa got fed up and left Isane behind. Of course, it only worked temporarily and the obsessed female always found her again. Why couldn't she apply that same skill to hunting for food, not Vanessa?
Distracted by her thoughts, Vanessa failed to notice that they'd wandered into the territory marked by a male Krokotas as his own.

Tongue to the ground the Knight was patrolling his boarders, well the boarders he had made when Sun Joined his pack. His golden eyes were closed, it was easier to concentrate this way. It was a small territory but as the pack grew he knew he would need to expand its land further. Vibrations reached his tongue. Hooves? No it wasn't hooves but the paws of other Krokotas. They weren't far from his spot, a dash or two at most. Opening his eyes he lifted his tongue from its spot on the ground. Time to go investigate these sets of paws.
With that the male was off. Soon he was able to sense heat signatures between the trees. With the air so still he doubt the knew he was coming, he wouldn't have known they were their if it wasn't for the vibrations in the earth. His ears flicked forward as their voices could soon be heart. Keeping his distance he tracked their movements with caution.

"...so...what are we hunting for, Nessy?"
Vanessa sighed tiredly, her temper waning thin. "Anything we can find to eat, doesn't matter at this point." She was starving, personally, and Isane couldn't be much better. Neither of them had eaten anything in a couple days now.
"Oh, okay!" the blue-eyed female responded eagerly, her tail swishing from side to side. Had to find something to eat, something for her and Vanessa. She wanted to help Nessy, she really did. Anything for the strong female she looked up to so.
Making an effort to be helpful, Isane sniffed the air, then let her tongue trail over the ground. Had to be something around here for them to eat, right? It looked like a nice area to hunt.
Though, something wasn't right. "Um...Nessy?"
"What?"
"I think I found something...but I don't think we can eat it."
Wondering what idiotic thing the other female had been distracted by this time, whether a shiny rock, or an odd-shaped leaf, Vanessa whirled about...and froze. She'd been too busy dealing with Isane to keep her wits about her. They were in strange territory and she'd let someone sneak up on them. She couldn't tell much about the distant heat signature yet, except from even this distance, it seemed large and imposing. Another Krokotas for sure, probably a male. That was both good and bad, the way she figured, her mind turning quickly.
"Crap...listen, follow my lead, Isane. You got it? We don't know if this is his land or not, but I can keep us from getting in too much trouble if it is...I think," she muttered in a muted voice to her colleague, quickly gathering her composure and waiting to see if the male would make the first move, now that he'd obviously been noticed.

Realizing he was noticed Blade stepped out from his spot in the trees coming into their view. "Hello," He spoke lightly, still being a bit cautions. "What brings you to my neck of the woods?" he questioned. He kept his distance trying not to seem like a threat.

Vanessa stepped forward, setting herself as their spokesperson, and immediately put on her most winning smile. "Oh, this is your land, kind sir? I apologize. Please forgive a couple of wandering ladies for trespassing. I'm afraid we may not have been paying the best attention to our surroundings."
Isane nodded enthusiastically, trying to keep her mouth shut and let Vanessa handle things, though she wanted to help. She didn't want to say anything stupid though and make Nessy mad at her. Instead, she hung back, just behind the other female, shuffling her paws awkwardly and trying her best to look the part of a lost, clueless wanderer.
As if that were a big stretch from the truth.

Wanderers? He wondered if they would want to settle down sometime soon. Blade did see them as potential pack members. "You are forgiven. If you mean no harm to me or the rest of the pack feel free to hunt on our lands." He offered. His pack was based on the idea that it was a sanctuary for everyone to join, for those who are searching for a place to belong, or for those who have run from their old pack looking for safety. Blade would be nonjudgmental on what happened in the past for well the past was past. All that really mattered was those events which would happen in the future.
