Hmm, here's some looks I've sported before - if you want, I can post a step-by-step "How-to".

They are pretty simple to do with some toothpicks, a bobbin pin, and masking tape but VERY time consuming.

Xena's Christmas Stripes Nails!

Materials:

Tape - I like masking tape but I guess scotch will work too, you can also cut the sticky strip off of sticky notes.

Polish - red, white, and green. (metallic/pearl colors make it look prettier)

Tooth pick

Bobby pin - stretched out!

Procedure!

1) You probably know this already, get your nail ready for polish. file it smooth, buff it if you want to, and make sure it's clean.

2) Now there are many ways to go about making the red and white stripes including eyeballing it freehand. I have shaky hands so I use tape as guide/stencils. Here is my method:

Cut the tape into strips and put them where you want the red stripes.

Paint the gaps white, let them dry for a few second, then peel off the tape (like the french tips method). When the white is completely dry, put tape over the white and paint the red. Remember to leave the upper corner clean!

3) Use tape to cover your stripes and paint the corner green. When the green is dry, dab out a drop or small puddle of white polish onto a disposable surface (a scrap piece of paper/plastic/foil/ect) and dab the bobby pin or toothpick into it, use the pin or pick to make large and small dots. You can also scrape off the pin's protective ball on the ends to use the flat metal to make short lines.
