before Merlock had a chance to apologize and offer to help the girl further she ran out

Midnight glanced around at the others, "Okay...I guess I'll go.." She hesitated slightly because she couldn;t remember the words that were said in class yesterday because she normally didn't have to say anything to control her own shadows. She mumbled out a few words, "something something..um...ROOM BE DARK!! I COMMAND YOU!!" She swung her arms to cover the room & everyone in the complete shadow of darkness.

unfortunately for her nothing happened

as he recited the spell a surge of dark energy engulfed the room turning it so black no one could see a single thing no matter what they tried
"sorry team Darkness but that will be minus 1 for failure to complete your homework assignment"
"Team Ice step forward and turn in your homework"
Merlock said as he the darkness disappated and returned the classroom to normal

Vishnu patted Midnight on the shoulder "Its ok, its just a different form of casting, you'll get it. "
At the teachers command Vishnu and Brahma each laid down their own thin layer of snow on the class, exhibiting more fine control over the spell then the previous days sloppy barrage.

Airi smiled. "Ooh, snow. This'll be fun!" She teleported a cup of juice from the dining hall and looked at it intensely as snow was falling right inside. She quickly teleported a spoon in it as the juice mixed with snow, creating some shaved ice. "Yay! Ice-cream, or shaved ice, no difference to me..." she grinned and took a bite of her 'demonstration'.
Sunano shook her head at Midnight's try and smiled. "Oh well, that's okay, I wouldn't have done any better..."

Illumina returns from her leave of absence.* "Hi everyone." Making her way into class, she reviews the different banners. "Oh, that's right, I don't recall choosing one before. Let's see." Illumina begins walking towards the Ice banner, then stops near the darkness banner. Her eyes narrow slightly, and her lip curls in a devil-ish manner. "Yes, this is my place." Illumina sits confidently at the darkness banner, with no visual regard to anything or anyone else.
