Mermaid Melody I have recently gotten into because I really like the songs. The villains have depth--they're not just evil, and they have good backstories.

I'd definitely recommend Card Captor Sakura--DO NOT watch the dub. They ruined everything.

Tokyo Mew Mew didn't hold my interest.

W.I.T.C.H. was really good.

Winx Club was good, but I lost interest after a few seasons.

My top 5 favorite magical girl shows that I recommend aside from Sailor Moon

-1st season of Pretty Cure
-Creamy Mami
-Fancy Lala
-Princess Tutu
-Revolutionary Girl Utena (even if it might not count)

for a good magical girl parody show I also recommend "Dai Mahou Touge" also known as "Magical Witch Punie-chan" i laughed so hard

blaugh xd That was a horrible movie! Still, one could counter by saying SM is like that at points >_> (though more in the anime)

I suppose I'll have to just kinda...watch....everything to figure out what's good and what's bad. Thanks for the advice!

Well I'd never watch anything in dub really, original is (almost) always best. I'll watch like, episodes 1-3 for comparison and that's usually about as far as I can get.

also a couple of OAVs as well

the 1973 original Cutey Honey was your basic campy super-hero show

then in 1995, they put out "New Cutey Honey" OAV series which was aimed at much older men (there are so many bare breasts in that
adaptation its not even funny XD)

in 1997 they came out with "Cutey Honey Flash" which was aimed at Sailor Moon's demographic. also it toned down the original cutey honey's bouncing selling points

in 2004 the live action movie was released along with "Re: Cutey Honey" OAV which was much more in tone with the original series.
