...would Satori make a really neat addition to the next fighting game?
Bear with me as I lay out a What-If for you:

Now, the fighter series Tekken has a character named Mokujin, who doesn't actually have any moves of its own, but instead copies the style and moves of one random fighter each round. It's the pro player's show-off character, because they could be one character they're good at in one fight and one they're poor at in another. This is essentially what I'm thinking of.
So, taking the battle system from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody/Hisoutensoku, each character has a set number of spell, system, and skill cards they can use in battle. Up to 20 single-use cards, 4 of each particular card. Satori, of course, wouldn't have a deck setup screen. Instead, she would simply use whatever deck the player has built for the character she's copying. If any props are used in the original character's fighting style (like Youmu's swords, or Marisa's broom), she makes a facsimile out of magic.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

-Battleground: Palace of the Earth Spirits
I've always liked the mosaic background of her stage, I think it would be nifty to revisit that, but from a side view, instead of top-down.
-Music: Heartfelt Fancy
As much as I like her boss theme, I can't quite imagine a remix of it that would work quite right. So a remix of her stage theme, it is.
-Story: ...Debatable. Since Utsuho was playable in Hisoutensoku, though, it might have something to do with chasing her down. I 'unno.
-Palettes: Oh, one of her alternate palettes would HAVE to use Koishi's colors. There's just no two ways around that razz

That's all I have for now, I'll toss in more if I think of it.

Interesting idea. I like it, and it's fairly simple to implement a character like that code-wise. Though I'd honestly make her an auto-mirror match type myself, given her apparent ability shown in combat.

Only one real problem with it... Tons of sprites. Making even a single character takes a while with spritework, and this'd be almost like making all the other characters over again if no major shortcuts are used. (This is the main reason this idea is really only implemented in 3D fighters to my knowledge)

It would also be amusing if she had her own full moveset, but a few specials and supers would depend on who the opponent is. I'd imagine that she'd have very little reach with her melee attacks. *laugh*

Actually, I might put in that Nue would likely be the "mirror fighter" instead of satori, but that's just me, and maybe a couple other people.

I always imagined that if Satori were in a Touhou fighter, she would have her own set of skill cards and spell cards, but that she would also have a "Doppelganger" spell card, that allowed her to copy the effect of whatever card her opponent happened to be selecting at the time of use.

Satori would definitely be the mimic of the game
Koishi would probably be more suited for her own moves, with spellcards to cancel the other players' spellcards or perhaps lock them out of melee-based attacks or danmaku-based attacks

Mostly because Satori doesn't strike me as the kind of individual who would get into a brawl.

Satori would be awesome to see ingame, although moveset I'd have no idea... In SA she would copy spellcards from whichever partner you'd chosen (Yukari, Aya, Alice, etc.), but unless ZUN/Tasgore suddenly introduce a partner system that wouldn't work out =/

If anything, I'd agree with mimicking the opponent's spellcards, but add that the alternate-colored sprite is "summoned" to perform the attack, or Satori takes on that appearance briefly.

I couldn't help it... And she looks mildly intrigued more than sad, honestly.

Also, I find that a few of the ideas being tossed around in here are interesting, but a bit off character-wise. XD
