Theo stood in the doorway to his brand new living space for only a moment - just long enough to suspiciously glance around to make sure no one was in there already, or had been previously. To his great enthusiasm, the dorm was still bare and in mint condition, with neatly made beds and tidy counter tops. Thank God for that. "CLAIMING THIS ENTIRE SIDE." he announced to the furniture, just to make things official as he kicked backwards and sent the door slamming shut behind him. Wasting no time, Theo crossed to the 'good' side of the room (obviously, the side with the TV), and proceeded to unzip his duffel bag full of belongings. After this, his next course of action was to violently swing all the contents at the bed; more than half of these possessions probably ended up on the floor, but it added to the charm. So did his decision to use the table lamp as a hanger for the now-deflated luggage bag.
Satisfied for only the length of a few seconds, Theo suddenly remembered that his mom had insisted on having him call the moment he had settled in to his new room. The teenager fished around his scattered clothes until he found his cell phone, clicking it into camera mode. He then aimed, paused for a moment, and sent a picture of the hurricane-wrecked room with a text of, 'I got this.' to his waiting parent. Man, it would be awesome to see her reaction to that one.
Oh yeah, and before he forgot, he stole the pillows off the opposite bed while he had the opportunity.

It wasn't until a couple of weeks later that Sergei was allowed to move into the dorms. When the time came to do so, he had (sort of) politely turned down his mother's offers for her and Sorrel to help him move in. He insisted that all he needed was a ride to the school with his bags, and kept to himself that he didn't think it would be much of a boost to his manly reputation to have two girls - related girls, that is - help him lug his bags into his dorm room. And so he walked down the hallway, counting the numbers up to his assigned room, carrying his two bags (one for clothes, the other for Stuff) by himself.
By some stroke of luck, he and Theo had been roomed together. But even so, he hadn't yet been to visit. Mostly the two of them, as well as Gavin, hung out outside of school grounds. Luckily, the place wasn't too hard to find. Sergei placed the bag containing his clothes on the floor and fumbled through his pockets for his key.
At first, Sergei had trouble registering what he was seeing. The room was a disaster. There were clothes and empty food wrappers, among other things, strewn everywhere. There was an empty duffel bag hanging off the lamp and the shade was smeared with something that vaguely resembled mustard. Both beds were heaped with stuff, and were the pillows on one of them missing? He narrowed his eyes and strode over to look closer. They were. And they appeared to have become part of an intricate nest of pillows and blankets on the bed further from the door - obviously where Theo had made his den. Injustice boiled up in Sergei's spine as he growled low in his throat. The room had been destroyed, all right, and he hadn't even had a chance to stop it.
Or help it happen. Whichever.
"THEO, you b*****d," Sergei snarled, throwing his bags onto the remaining bed, "I. Am going. To kill you."

Approximately an hour or two later, Sergei walked back into the room. Though he was grumbling with no small amount of irritation under his breath, much of his previous indignation had faded away into what was more of a simmer. He hadn't yet been able to find Theo, and truthfully, the chances of him letting go of the state of the room until Theo was served justice (on a silver platter, preferably) were slim to none. Much closer to none.
One sweep of his arm had most of the junk previously on his bed onto the floor, and he sat down on it moodily. Damn that Theo, and his pointy teeth, and his stripes, and his stupid antennae. He was going to pay, all right. Sergei just had to find him first. Luckily, it was starting to get late. "You'll have to come back here sooner or later," he announced to the room darkly, clearly plotting Terrible Things, possibly including toothbrushes and public toilets, if Theo didn't show up soon.

He had known the minute the door opened (and slammed shut) that someone had entered the room, but Theo hadn't actually been bothered to move until he was positive it was someone he was interested in talking to. Now, he didn't really know who or what Sergei was referring to with the whole, 'You'll have to come back' garbage, but that wasn't really important. Not important to him, anyway. A mountain of what could only be referred to as crap stacked on the floor shifted a little, then went still. And then, out of the abyss, the stupid blonde pixie slithered from beneath the nest of sheets and pillows and nameless cords to sprawl halfway onto the floor, propped up on his elbows. Smug. Somewhere on the other side of his den, you could hear something clatter onto the floor; it was not investigated.
"What's up, man? I see you've finally made it to THE PAD."

So wrapped up in his plotting, Sergei didn't notice the nest (which had changed slightly since he had last been in the room) move. In fact, it wasn't until he heard Theo's voice that he looked up.
The sight of the pixie half-sprawled on the floor with a stupid, pointy grin on his face provoked his irritation back into a boil. Who did Theo think he was, looking so proud of himself like that? Didn't he have any idea what offense he had committed? "I've been here already, actually. Only difference was, no one was home." He glared across the room at his friend, then, deciding that wasn't sufficient, got up and weaved his way through the scattered objects laying on the floor - stepping on a few and breaking one in the process - to crouch in front of Theo. Not quite eye-level, but it would do.
"Who do you think you are?" he demanded, eyes narrowed dangerously.

The fact that Sergei hadn't yet explicitly explained that he was annoyed meant that Theo had yet to figure it out. It's not like thinking was his strong point. He assumed that the glare he received from his friend was surprise at his sudden and miraculous appearance. The fact that he just broke something that was laying on the floor - was that a G.I. Joe he just snapped in half? - was probably just poor attention on where he was stepping. Of course all this would make sense. And so that's why Theo took everything Sergei said VERY SERIOUSLY. "Oh yeah? Well that sucks. If I knew you were going to be here I would've put out the welcome sign, hahaha." The look on his face was pretty much as sarcastic as you could get. He wasn't in the room at that time because he didn't want to help Sergei unpack his s**t, actually.
It kind of weirded him out that someone twice his height was trying to get to eye-level with him when he wasn't even sitting up, so Theo straightened up a little to stare directly back at him. "Captain Awesome. Commander of Cool. Home Decorator Extraordinaire. Lord of the Dorm Rooms. ...Is this a trick question?"

Sergei pointedly ignored the comment about the welcome sign, knowing better than to pick on little things like that in conversation with Theo. It would only sidetrack from the real issue. Instead, he squinted at his roommate, mouth a hard line. Home Decorator Extraordinaire. "I thought so."
Rising to his feet, slowly and deliberately, Sergei towered over Theo. The time for equal ground was over. Being tall had its advantages, especially in the intimidation category. "Guess that means I ought to thank you for decorating the room for me before I got here, huh? Real thoughtful of you. I didn't think you had it in you." Taking one step back, Sergei hoped to step on something else and was rewarded with another satisfying crack. He hoped whatever it was was expensive - although, with the kind of s**t Theo was hoarding, there wasn't always direct correlation between price and importance.

There was a small change in Sergei's demeanor and Theo squinted his eyes in calculation as he considered it. He thought so? Yeah he better have thought so, obviously Theo was a genius - but that wasn't really the answer that he expected. The bee was still thinking about this strange reply as Sergei towered to full height and started glaring down at him. Not only that, but the living building took a step back... and stomped down on a CD that was naked without it's casing on the floor. Theo's eye nearly popped out of his skull.
"WHOA WHOA WHOA, ARE YOU AN IDIOT? YOU JUST BROKE MY-- ohh." His aghast reaction faded as quickly as it started, and he returned to lounging with a disarmed sigh of relief. He laughed, as if it wasn't such a big deal after all. "I guess this is a really bad time to tell you I borrowed your CD last time I was over... hahahaha. You should watch where you're walking."

Sergei was about to feel satisfied with Theo's reaction when one key detail about the situation was revealed: the stupid bee wasn't just leaving his own s**t laying around their dorm room floor. He was leaving other people's s**t laying around too. His s**t, to be exact - and something he hadn't even asked to borrow. For a moment, Sergei was blinded with rage. He gritted his teeth against it, attempting to control himself, and only partially succeeded.
"Ah," he said stiffly, trying to formulate his seething thoughts into something more coherent than stepping on Theo. "You're right, I should watch it, shouldn't I? My bad." He turned his focus on the floor, seeking out something that was obviously not his.
There it was - a plastic something laying near the foot of Theo's bed, the function of which wasn't apparent at first glance. Promising. "I should probably start unpacking." Turning as though to walk back to his own bed, Sergei made a point of stepping on the aforementioned plastic something on his way. Crack.
There we go, he thought to himself. "Whoops," he announced aloud. "I guess wasn't looking again."

It seemed like these developments were finally enough to spark a light bulb above Theo's otherwise empty head. The fact that Sergei sounded like he was having issues breathing normally, and the fact that he was being super awkward by standing while Theo talked to him from the floor...it all made sense. He was pissed off about something. What the hell was there to be mad about?! They had their own place! This was a time for celebration! Any fool who couldn't see that was clearly blind. And that's when Sergei stomped down on something else that was clearly not his, and Theo bolted upright at the sound of destruction. "HEY! WHAT GIVES, a*****e?" He blurted, scrambling up to his feet to discern what was broken. "...That was my lucky Optimus Prime arm! I FOUND THAT IN THE STREET. I CAN'T JUST REPLACE THAT." He sounded pretty outraged about the whole thing, and was posed aggressively despite the fact that he was comically smaller than the other teenager.
Armed with his Napoleon Complex and little else, he pointed at Sergei accusingly. "Hey, what crawled up and died in you? Is it that time of the month or something?"

That was more the reaction Sergei had been looking for. To most people, the stuff laying on the floor would be considered junk, but not to Theo. Theo treated everything he owned like it was dear to him, whether it was shoved under a pile of other crap and never looked at again or not, especially (possibly even exclusively) when these seemingly random objects were threatened, and Sergei knew it. If it hadn't been for the fact that the taller Meta was so irritated at his friend, he would have found it funny. As it was, he was in no mood for laughing, and instead used it to get Theo's attention.
"I don't see what you're not getting here," Sergei said, shoving the broken toy arm under Theo's (real) bed with the heel of his foot as he turned to advance on the other boy once again. Theo would get over the arm, eventually. Probably. "I get to move into the dorms. Great! But then I get here, and you've completely trashed the place. Without me." He stopped and towered darkly over Theo, never breaking eye contact, the scowl never leaving his face. "And now I find out some of this s**t on the floor is mine. All that sure did put me in a cuddly mood, can't you tell?"
