Hi! in real life, my name is Claire (yes i'm a girl) and I'm crazy obsessed with history. I fell in love with Les Mis when I got the book out from my school library in 8th grade and proceeded to carry it around, working my way through it for almost half the school year. I didn't actually figure out there was a musical until I was looking up something from the book and decided to listen to some of the songs...I think the first one I heard was "Stars" from the TAC.
I got the CSR recording after that, and gradually bought more albums, so now I have the CSR, TAC, OBC, OLC highlights, 1980 concept album, and the Paris Revival cast (last two are in French). My favorite characters are Valjean, Javert, and probably Marius.
From the above reactions, I need to see the 25th Anniversary concert?

Bonjour. I'm a girl also in cosplay. xp My name is Jessica and I am a sophomore in High School. I have loved Les Misérables since I was 8. Strange but true. Since my whole family liked it and I didn't I tried the CD when I was 5. The only song I seemed to enjoy was Lovely Ladies. xd I don't like that song at all. I CAN'T DECIDE WHO MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IS!!!! So I chose Grantaire. But I also LOVE Marius, Cosette, Eponine, Javert, Enjolras, and Gavroche. heart I couldn't choose. I have 3 different recordings of Les Mis because I like it too much. I have the Complete Symphonic Recording, I have the regular soundtrack, and I have it in French. I love the French one too bad it is extremely different. I could talk about Les Miserables ALL DAY LONG!!! rofl

Greetings all, or perhaps I should say Salut? Anyways, I'm pleased to have found a Les Mis group on Gaia. I was originally a fan of Hugo's novel, and later became a fan of the musical, particularly the 10th anniversary cast. I'm partial to Javert as far as characters go.
I look forward to discussing Les Mis with everyone in the future!

Hey there everybody! My name is Julie and I'm a sophomore political science major =) I first started getting into Les Mis when I found out that Lea Salonga, my favorite performer, played Eponine in the TAC. I was super excited because I fell in love with the song 'On My Own'' from the moment I first heard it. But my love for this fantastic show truly took off when I saw the 25th Anniversary Concert last November. I was having a horrible time at college and my mom thought going to see it would make me feel better. I felt pretty ridiculous when I went because I was literally the youngest person there, but I also realized what a phenomenal and inspiring show Les Mis really was. I have been a Les Mis junkie ever since. Lol. That weekend, I went to my favorite bookstore and purchased a copy of the novel. It took me two and half months to finish, but it was well worth it. I have, at last count, six different recordings of Les Mis on my iPod. I'm such a dork! Lol. Anyway, my favorite characters are Eponine, the Friends of the ABC, and Fantine. My favorite cast is the TAC. So many amazing performers! =)

Hello everyone! You may all call me Usagi. Eponine is my favorite character in Les Miserables and Lea Salonga would be my favorite Eponine. Awhile ago I had my avi as Eponine and for the District Thespian competition I performed "On My Own" and I received two excellents and a superior receiving an overall excellent. I have this huge obsession with the musical, I remember my friend telling me one day that I needed to stop being so obsessed with Les Mis, haha. Another friend and I have made it a habit of ours to sing Lovely Ladies all the time, it's such a fun song! I own the book but I have not yet finished it, which is something I need to get started on. Also, I'm not really a big fan of the 25th anniversary concert....

Nice to meet you two! I love "On My Own" also! biggrin Have either of you heard Nancy Sullivan's version? That one is by far my favorite version! Lea's is still pretty good though...
Julie- you beat my amount! I have four....and not all of the songs from all four....but oh well. XD And my family and I saw Les Mis in march and me and my bro looked like we were the youngest people there, but we were also some of the people who knew the most lyrics haha.
Usagi- Lol that has happened to me too...("stop being so obsessed!"). But, how can you tell me to stop being obsessed if it's one of the only things worth obsessing over? XD

Also, I'm not really a big fan of the 25th anniversary concert.... Salonga's portrayal of Eponine is my favorite too. Lol. One time for English class I had to write a quick paper in which I had to compare two different things and then make an argument about why one was better than the other. Being the huge Les Miz dork that I am, I decided to write about Lea Salonga vs.Frances Ruffelle as Eponine. Lol! My family and friends always have something to say about my undying love for this musical. The other day my aunt said to me: "Julie, does a day ever go by where you don't have something to say about Les Miz?"
