Cayden smiled at her questioning face and said, "Go ahead, it's fine, Max won't mind, Just write down whatever you want to say." Cayden turned and walked over to the wall nearby, where the instruments that the crew used were stored. He leaned over and picked up his guitar and a violin, walking over to the desk to tune them, as he often did when he wasn't busy. Sitting down at the desk, he looked up at her and said, "Here take a seat, it's okay, you can do what you want now, you don't have to ask for permission to move around." He looked down and plucked a few of his guitar's strings, tuning them as he did. Doing this calmed Cayden's nerves a bit, he enjoyed tuning instruments almost as much as he did using them. He began humming an old tune that he knew from a long time ago, waiting patiently for Trinity while working on the guitar.

Trinity nodded in response to Cayden saying that Max wouldn't mind if she used the notebook. Not only had she been asking out of habit, but she was just merely being polite about asking if she could use a sheet of paper. It was originally in Trinity's nature to be polite anyway. She watched as Cayden took out a violin and a guitar from a cabinet. As he began tuning them, Trinity looked down at the notebook, trying to think of what she wanted to write. She had a lot she wanted to say, but she didn't quite know where to begin. A sort of thoughtful look came to her face as she was thinking.
However, Cayden's telling her to take a seat brought Trinity out of her thoughts for a moment. She blinked in slight surprise as she looked up at him, her head tilted a little to the side before she moved to take a seat on a second chair in the room. Once seated, Trinity placed the notebook on her lap and began to jot down a couple of things she wanted to say. The pen paused in mid-sentence, but soon continued. Her writing was oddly neat for someone who had been a slave for most of her life and probably hadn't been allowed to write anything for a couple of years. As she was writing, Cayden's humming and tuning of his guitar was in the background. When she was finished with what she had written, which was a couple of sentences, Trinity looked back up at Cayden, trying to figure out how she was going to get his attention without too rudely interrupting what he was doing.
'I'm sorry for being so... jumpy. I'm just... not used to being treated so nicely without it being manipulative...' That was the first sentence Trinity had written on the top of the first page. After everything that had happened, she felt she needed to apologize for acting so scared. '...Thank you... for being so kind to me.' Was the second thing Trinity's neat handwriting spelled out in the black ink of the pen. After that, she had paused, both in thought and listening to Cayden tuning the guitar and humming some tune he knew. After a moment, the third sentence Trinity wrote out was: 'That's a nice song.'

Cayden stopped humming and looked up from the guitar for a moment. He smiled when he saw the Trinity was finished writing. He extended his hand and took the notebook from her gently. He looked the three or four sentences she wrote down over for a minute before looking back up at her, smile still on his face. He handed the notebook back to her and said, "It's no problem, it's completely understandable for someone in your situation to be a bit... jumpy as you put it. As for being kind to you, no thanks needed, It's in my nature to be nice." He sighed and plucked the strings of the guitar once more, satisfied, he stood up, and placed the guitar back in its place before moving back to the desk and starting on the violin. He smiled at Trinity and said, "That song is older than my parents, my great grandfather taught it to me when I was a kid. It always seems to cheer me up and help take my mind off of things when I hear it." Cayden looked back down at the violin and tuned it slightly, he was adept at tuning string instruments but the violin was particularly difficult for him, he didn't have the right kind of touch to play it very well. Thinking of that gave Cayden an idea, he looked up at Trinity and asked, "Tell me Trinity, can you play any instruments?" He smiled lightly, waiting for her answer, now paying no attention to the violin on the desk.

As the notebook was handed back to her, Trinity gently took it in her hand put it back on her lap, watching the page with her sentences on it rather than watching Cayden. It was still more out of shyness than being jumpiness though. However, she did listen to everything he said to her about what she'd written. Trinity only showed any sign of response to what Cayden was saying wasn't until he asked if she played any instruments. Blinking in surprise at the odd question, Trinity looked up at Cayden. She gave him a couple of slow nods before she wrote out the names of the instruments she knew how to play. 'The piano and the violin.' When she was finished writing, Trinity held up the notebook so Cayden could read her response.

That was the last straw for Nathanial. With a growl he launched himself forward at his younger brother with grappling fingers. However the brother he once knew is now much more agile and swift than he had remembered and he had missed his mark. "After him!" he shouted, "Don't let him get away! If he's still alive, I'm beginning to question who else is too and what goddamn business they have here!" He watched bitterly as his men raced forward in the dozens and turned to Ruby. "You're lucky you don't have siblings" He mumbled before straightening up and fixing his jacket and running his fingers through his hair once more with a deep breath, "Besides, I was always the better looking, smarter, and more talented of two anyways." he said with a smile. The women once more giggled and latched themselves on him again.
Ruby gave him a smirk and a nod and for once she seemed unfazed by the other women as she she stared off into the distance with a growing smile appearing on her face as a cruel idea formulated in her mind. If Nathanial really loathed his brother that much, perhaps I could get this "Ron" to fall for me, Nathanial will be oh so jealous! An exciting chill raced through her. Once Ron was under her every whim she could easily throw him back behind bars and then Nathanial will realize what she has done and they will be together forever! It is a brilliant plan! "Nathanial, baby, I'm getting rather tired and have some important errands to run"
Nathanial only replied with a mumble still preoccupied with all the ladies cooing and giggling around him.
Ruby rolled her eyes, a playboy as always. She won't go about unnoticed forever; she was going to change all of that. If she could play her cards right, she could perhaps figure out a way to intercept him somehow. Those blundering guards probably have lost him at this point anyways. With that, she turned and walked in the general direction of where Ron was originally headed.

Looks like I poked the tiger with the stick one to many times Ron thought as he dodged his brother's hands. "See you later brother!" Ron snickered as he ran away. As he ran Ron looked behind him and saw the herd of stupid cows chasing him down the street. Damn, I shoulda worn my bomb belt! he thought as he looked for something he could use to escape. He smiled as he saw what was up ahead. There was a cart being pulled by a horse that contained wooden barrels. Only two things are kept in wooden barrels, beer, or gun power take your pic cause both can be ignited. Given that there were some guards riding on the cart Ron hoped that it was gun powder. As he ran by the cart Ron snagged one of the barrels. "Hey get back her you little runt!" one of the guards on on the cart yelled before he jumped off to give chase. By the time the guard ran around the kart to the other side Ron was gone.
The guards continued to give chase but when they met up with the cart guard they slowed down before a noise caught their attention. "Hey, I 'm over here you IDIOTS!" rang out from the left hand street at the next intersection. The group immediately gave chase and sprinted around the corner. SURPRISE SUCKERS!" Ron yelled as he saw the group come storming around the corner. the guards in front tried to stop but the ones behind them slammed into them causing a huge pile up. Ron ran like hell as a small flame traveled down a trail of gun powder. He ducked into an alleyway as the barrel, which Ron had placed next to a water melon stand, exploded sending gooey red melon chunks all over the guards. By the time they got up Ron was long gone. With the guards covered in the now deceased melon colony Ron headed back towards the mansion.

Evee let herself be lead around the mansion. It was ironic to her that he was leading her rather than vice versa. It was profoundly stunning how he knew his way around without her help. It was as if he knew her home as much as she did. From what she could recall between their interactions, the only place Max had ever been was her room. She began to wonder how he could have known the layout of the mansion but didn't stop to ask him.
Within the study, Evee found herself shuffling through old books and pulling open drawers and looking under carpets. Her father was a sly and tricky man; he was a secretive man whom often enjoyed stashing things that held importance and selectively hiding things from his advisers as well as his own family. When Evee was younger, she had either stumbled upon or caught him going through many of the secret passage ways and rooms stashed with gold and important documents that her father had hidden from the world, not that he ever knew of course. Finding anything specific was sure to cause a real headache.
"Max!" Evee sharply breathed grabbing him just before he stepped out the door. "How do you know if its in his bedroom? It could be anywhere in this mansion!" Her heart dropped knowing what she said was partially true anyways but something told her that his room would be heavily guarded. Where is that Ron doing? She thought. Ironically the only sound of comfort other than Max's voice right now was the explosion that was supposed to take place in order to temporarily cause a distraction for Max and Evee to easily slip around the mansion without being caught.
-----
Ruby was exhausted; she realized how badly planned this whole idea of hers was. At this rate, with the dress she had on as well as the heels; there was no way she could reach the mansion before Ron could. She was already feeling tired and this air was stifling. With a sore pout and a scream of fury she kicked a can out into an ally way. She was beginning to doubt the whole plan. She had only seen this man's face once and if a dozen soldiers couldn't chase him how could she? Things would be much easier if she could just find a way to talk to him face to face somehow. Then her plan would be in motion and all would be well. That fool wouldn't be able to resist me; the only problem is actually finding the rat.
Taking a seat on a bunch of uncomfortable crates, Ruby sighed heavily and fanned herself with a hand. She didn't understand how anyone could stand living without a carriage or a horse and not having anyone to wait on you all the time. Her feet were already feeling sore and she missed her oh-so-soft carpeted floors. Life out here in the city was miserable and the heat was absolutely stifling.

A can scuttled across the ground bouncing wildly with each bump in the road that it hit. Ron picked it up as it came to him and then walked out of the alleyway with it in hand. "That's no way to kick a can." he said as bent the top into a cone shape with his hand before kicking it clean over a building. "That's how you kick a can." He then walked over and leaned on the crates that Ruby was sitting on. During the chase a few of the lower buttons on his shirt had come unbuttoned to reveal his abs. Despite being smaller than his brother his life in the army and as a pirate had put him in pretty good shape. The angle of the sun also caught his body in a way that his sweat was reflecting the light slightly. Now what could hot stuff over here be doing this far away from the tiger? "So gorgeous, now that you're free of my self absorbed big lesser brother mind telling me your name since he was to uncaring to do so?"

That's no way to kick a can. Ruby felt herself jump in surprise as a figure stepped out of the shadowy alleyway. She hadn't expecting anyone to be there, let alone expect what she was about to see. She drew in a deep breath as the man appeared into view; she could hardly believe her good fortune as to see who it was. At first Ruby could only watch the man speechlessly as the metal can flew off into the distance with a faint clatter.
Ruby realized that Ron is actually much more strikingly in appearance than she had expected, especially up close and personal.
Ruby stifled her excitement and calmly smiled and stood up to address the man properly with a regal air. Ugh what am I thinking...This man is nothing! You are only attracted to rich men. Nathanial is the only one for me, he is just a pawn in my game for now. This man standing before me is nothing but a no-good pocket-picker who runs barefoot in the street all day. There's no future in that. Smiling sweetly she pushed all the negative thoughts away. Perhaps taking this 'shortcut' to intercept the man to the mansion was a good idea after all...
"Ruby," She answered before pausing slightly, looking him over with profound interest, "Ruby Valentina, and I suppose you are the infamous Ron Whiteraven; the so-called-scoundrel everyone is looking for; the man who is supposed to be dead" Her eyes twinkled slightly in curiosity as she he circled him casually. "My you sure are the more handsome brother. In fact, Nathanial is simply jealous that you outmatch him in wittingly and you are far more cunning, adventurous and good-looking than you. Did you see how eager he was to rid of you?" She grinned, flashing her pearly whites.
However to what she said was not her opinion; sure he was handsome, but Nathanial could not be outmatched by anyone in her eyes. He was captain of the guard with a high status and constant income. Not only that but the Mayor had already announced that Nathanial was to take his position one day once he died of old age. This man however is no more than a rat of the dirty streets living off of whatever he could get his grubby fingers on. But she was grateful that Ron hadn't been hideous, that would have made her job a lot harder. At least I don't have to kiss up to some hideous man, makes my job a little easier. She thought happily.
