It has a use. It's use is entertainment via games. It serves that purpose very well.

I am not so sure man, I mean its alright but I haven't found many games I really enjoyed on it, the best one I played was trace memory. I wouldn't mind trying some other titles but I am getting a PS3 later this month so I really don't have the cash to shell out for DS games. besides I am still using my old school first gen DS with its broken hinge.
it just kinda seems like the whole novelty of the DS is wearing off, sure its got a touch screen but the graphics are more akin to super Nintendo, it kind of reminds me of the wii in that respect, its got a gimic (motion sensor/touch screen) but once you get past that there isnt a lot to hold it up.
just my opinion of course, but then again, I am really a Sony fan-boy blaugh

I kinda want to modify my DS so I can try some different games for free but I lack the proper equipment.

I'll nag my sisters to get me a 3DS, no doubt, they got the money for it, and I'll nag them to gimmie the games I want too lol. RE: Mercenaries 3D looks awesome.

OoT 3D YES! god yes!

Street Fighter 4 on 3DS? yes!

Dead or Alive on 3DS? YES! bouncy boobs in 3D! lol

the list goes on, and I'll probably still be able to play GBA games on it if I'm lucky, I've been waiting for a "too damn good" reason to upgrade to DS.

Like the DSi, the 3DS won't be able to play GBA game cartridges. You can, however, download them via the 3DS marketplace, similar to how you would buy many older games by downloading them on the Wii.

man that sounds like some bullshit if you ask me, I like poping in my GBA games from time to time, though I wish I had a larger selection of games to play, I've practically played every game I have to death.

All it means is you have a reason to hang on to your old GBA of DS / DS lite. I think it'd be odd if they did continue making systems that could play those games. After all, it's been years since they've made a GBA game.

Also, the 3DS is a brand new system. Technically, because it's capable of playing DS games, it is fully backwards compatible.

true. but I like the fact the 3DS is gonna provide a whole 3D experience without the need for glasses. I'll nag my sisters for it until I get one, it'd be awesome to play the Resident Evil games in 3D and even the SF port to 3DS looks badass! so many damn games look good on 3DS, me wanty! especially the DOA game coming out for 3DS!

Why bug your sisters? Why not just save up til you can get one for yourself?

Also, my girlfriend got hers in the mail today. She's at work, and the package is sitting there on the coffee table, mocking me. I won't be able to get mine until May or later, considering my current job doesn't give me enough hours to pay for rent, let alone a new handheld.

I tried the 3DS in best buy and it hurt my eyes x.x. It was like double vision. I guess I'll have to try it again sometime to see if I can get it right. I really want the new paper mario when it comes out... And as for OoT, don't think I'd rebuy the same game, it's awesome, but I still got it on N64. IT would be cool to play on the 3DS tho if someone else got it xD

I got the new 3DS XL, it's AWESOME! I like the 3D! And yeah, the 3D is like double vision, but it's cool. You can shut off the 3D effect.
