Akuja had been a bit in a slight panic when she received a call from the Funeral Home to come in since they were a bit short on staff that night. While it would only be for a few hours, she couldn’t leave her children home alone! It also happened to be rotten luck that Freyr was working at the moment so the older woman fretted about what to do with the children until an idea came to mind.

Ah ha!

There was a teen who had offered to baby sit and hopefully he wouldn’t be too busy! Akuja had immediately made the call and was very, very pleased to hear that he would be able to do the job. After giving him her address, she then got ready for work, ordered pizza for everyone for dinner and then got some money out to pay the teen for his troubles. The older woman now waited for said teen to arrive while sipping the last of her coffee. She also didn’t mention yet to Seidh or Fremere who was coming…figured it would be a nice surprise for someone.

He'd been doing nothing except for being flopped over in his bed and reading through a photography catalogue that he'd picked up while he had been out and about during the day. Quint was in essence day dreaming over the things he couldn't afford or have just yet but would have some day. It was one of those things he sat down and did now a days when left to his own devices - he had goals now and goals meant he could day dream and wish for things.

It had surprised him when his cell phone suddenly vibrated about on his bed. Honestly it scared the crap out of him.

When Quint answered he was surprised to hear that it was Akuja on the other end and she needed him to watch the kids while she ran off to work for a few moments. After a quick conversation and some directions he agreed and hung up. He took a moment to get ready and informed his family where he was off to and why before he left. Needless to say he probably got a few stares following him out but he didn't seem to notice. He arrived after a few moments and knocked on the door to Akuja's home then he just waited for someone to answer.

Akuja pushed herself off of the kitchen counter, setting her coffee cup into the sink and started to head towards the door as soon as she heard a knock. On the way their she passed by the laundry room where Seidh was standing in front of the dryer, waiting for her plush to come out. The older woman smirked a bit, amused, for a few different reasons as she reached the door and then opened it. The relief was apparent upon her face when she saw the teen because it meant an adult like figure who would be here to watch her children and keep them safe.

She stepped back, allowing for Quint to come in. “Thank you, really. I’m sorry it’s such short notice, I usually like to give someone more time but…you know.”

---

The usually patient girl happened to tap her foot a bit as she stared at the dryer. When would Quint come out of it? Soon she hoped! As her mother answered the door, she couldn’t help but tilt her head a bit as she tried to listen to who had come in and would be watching them while Akuja was away at work. Seidh wondered who it could be…but getting Quint out of the dryer was top priority at the moment.

He took a moment to make sure his boots were clean before entering and then took them off as he wasn't going to be wandering anywhere else for a while. He may as well get comfortable. Quint offered Akuja a small awkward smile and nodded a bit, "It really is not a big deal, wasn't really doing much of anything. I'm not much of a partier or whatever," he admitted quietly.

Sure he went out often enough but that didn't mean he did all the things a normal teenager did while out and about. He didn't even ogle girls like a normal boy supposedly did. He adjusted his messenger bag that he had taken with him on the way out and then stood off to the side and waited for Akuja to lead to where he needed to be, "I..I'm okay with kids so it's not a big deal," he murmured quietly, still feeling a bit awkward. Besides he needed to have a talk with a certain someone in the household this only granted him the opportunity to do so.

Akuja closed the door after he entered. “Whether you were or not, still, thank you.” The gratitude was very apparent in her voice. “Please, make yourself comfortable. I’m sure you know how to work a TV, the cups are in the kitchen, there’s soda in the fridge, and I ordered pizza for you guys, Seidh knows where the money is to pay the guy.” She then took this time to slip on her own shoes, smiling a bit. “Okay with kids? I’d say that was an understatement.” She chuckled softly at this.

---

Seidh silent cheered to herself as the dryer buzzed, signaling it was done. She wasted no time in throwing the door open and diving into the dryer and pulling out her beloved plush. She nuzzled it happily for it was very warm and smelled so nice but the small girl immediately paused as her eyes widened as she heard a familiar voice. She gave the plush Quint a squeeze before carefully placing him on top of the dryer and darting into the kitchen, peeking out into the living room.

---

After Akuja slipped on her shoes she immediately felt a small, warm body pressed against the back of her legs and chuckled softly once more as Seidh peeked out from behind her legs, a bit a twitter at seeing Quint as it was also apparent by the small blush on her face. She also couldn’t hide behind her hair this time; as Akuja had French braided it earlier. The older was highly amused at the girl’s shy behavior as she stepped to the side a bit and leaned down a tad, placing her hand on the small of the girl’s back. “Stop acting so shy, you know you want to.” She then promptly pushed the girl forward a bit into Quint’s leg, which she quickly attached herself too excitedly yet blushing still.

Akuja have a short laugh as she also reached into her pocket and pulled out the money she had set aside from Quint. She reached and took one of the teen’s hands and placed the money into it. “For your troubles.”

Quint chuckled slightly, "Really? I ... I never really thought I was THAT great with them..." he said softly and shrugged it off. He didn't really feel the need to carry on the conversation further and he had taken note of what she had said prior to that. Pizza is forthcoming, there were drinks, there was a television and Seidh knew where the payment money was so that the delivery man wouldn't bust his kneecaps upon arrival, his world was complete for the moment.

When Seidh put in an appearance he had watched her from the corner without really looking at her, pretending to not 'notice' her until she was out in the open and suddenly pressed to his own legs. He smiled down at her and then leaned to pick her up into his arms, positioning her to where she rested upon his hip - she was a small enough child for him to get away with doing so without it looking odd or awkward. In a way Quint was dreading the dialogue that was going to come up. What if it made her cry? When his free hand had money pressed into it he was yanked back into reality and stared down at the cash thoughtfully. For now he'd take it. "You didn't have to...But thanks..."

“You don’t give yourself enough credit.” Akuja commented further before letting the subject go once Seidh had arrived.

Seidh was quite content to have her face pressed against Quint’s pant leg and it smelled like him too! Soon enough though she was being lifted and found herself resting upon his hip. The small girl glanced at him briefly, before glancing off to the side, blushing, yet had a small, content smile upon her lips for she was quite happy. She was also very unaware of any possible upcoming talks because as far as she was concerned, that love letter was still safely tucked away in her journal.

“Didn’t have to? It was short notice and besides, don’t you teenagers have stuff you want to get? When I was a teen, I know I did.” She was liking how humble and modest the teen was, but she wouldn’t let him leave without being paid for his work. The woman then leaned and grasped Seidh’s braid, giving it a gentle tug as she leaned and kissed the girl’s forehead, to which one of Seidh’s hands came up to cup her mother’s face. “I love you, and though I don’t have to tell you, you be good. I’ll be back later.” She then called out to Fremere and the boy came dashing out of his room, where he quickly gave Quint a tight hug to his leg and then hug to his mother and his love as well. He then ran back to his room seeming…more please than usual.

“He’s busy writing his letters to his…friends.” Akuja commented. “So don’t worry about him so much. Their bed time also is ten, just to let you know. Well, you guys have fun, I’ll be back later.” With that the woman then left, leaving Quint alone with the two children.

"Well there are some things for my photography I am saving up for but they aren't going anywhere," he murmured but he pocketed the money for now and nodded his farewells to Akuja and had patted Fremere on his brightly colored head before he fled. The boy was cute even if he seemed a bit...Intense. Yes, intense. Akuja's comment only furthered the intensity that the boy seemed to have going for him. Once alone he wandered a littler further into the house not putting Seidh down yet.

"Want to watch a mo--," he was interrupted mid question by a sound at the door. The teen shuffled back over to see the Pizza Deliveryman at the door waiting as he peered through the small peephole in the door. He gently set Seidh down on the ground, "Do me a favor and get me the money to pay him off, hm?"

Such a charming way with words he had.

Akuja was very impressed by Quint’s answer. That sounded like an honorable hobby, especially for a teen and she also knew it wasn’t exactly a cheap one if someone wanted decent materials. She was very happy to give him the money.

Seidh turned very attentive after her mother had left, focusing it all on Quint and perked up as he started to speak but it was interrupted by the door. Oh, pizza! Her hands rested on the teen’s shoulders as they moved back towards the door and she was saddened to by put down, but it was to help out Quint, so it was alright. The small gave gave an energetic nod of her head and zipped off to the kitchen, grapping the money that was under a cookie jar and zipping back to Quint where one hand grasped his pant leg and the other held the money up to him.

He smiled a bit as he watched her go get the money and then opened the door to take the pizza from the deliveryman and then chattered a bit at them while he waited for Seidh to reappear which wasn't long. Once he felt her hand grasping his pantleg he looked down and took the money from her with his free hand and offered it to the deliveryman and then goodbyes were said and the door was closed. Now with the glory of pizza in hand he started to move to the kitchen while calling out, "Hey Astley, dinner is here. Get it while it's still gooey," obviously he was summoning the almighty Fremere from his lair.

Once in the kitchen he went about getting some plates out and opening the box to set the pizza slices down on them for their fateful trip to the stomach.

"How many pieces you guys want?" He asked as he started serving out the meal.

Seidh watched as Quint made the exchange with the pizza man and once the door was closed to followed along with him into the kitchen, padding along with a hand still grasping his pant leg. Once in the kitchen, she climbed into her usual chair and spoke up for the first time since Quint arrive. “…One please.”

As if Fremere knew exactly who Quint was talking too, the energetic boy was quickly in the kitchen, hands on the table as he took a plate from Quint and made his own move to grab two slices of pizza. The boy wouldn’t eat with them, he was very, very busy still and besides…he wanted to give his little sister as much alone time as possible with her loved one! He skipped over to the fridge and grabbed a juice box and then grabbed his plate to return to his room, and it was alright for him to eat in there because he was very careful. “Never gonna give you up ~ Quint!” The boy sang as he disappeared into the hall way and then the sound of a door closing was heard.

The small girl giggled as she climbed down from her chair and then went to go get Quint and herself some cups.

He laid out one slice of pizza on a plate and let Fremere serve himself; after all there was no reason for the boy not to. He was old enough and knew the house rules and probably knew the consequences of going against the wishes of their mother, "Heh, alright then. Enjoy your writing," he said after the boy not seeming to feel the need to hover over him. Quint got himself a couple of slices on the plate and then set his and Seidh's plate down on the table.

Quint waited for her to set down the cups, "What you want to drink?" he asked her quietly. He would talk with her soon enough. It'd be an important talk and it'd now be interrupted for the most part unless Fremere came running out cause something was set on fire - completely random and improbable at this point.

Seidh picked out two cups, a small plastic one for herself and a big plastic one for Quint. The small girl hummed a bit thoughtfully before replying, “Strawberry banana juice please.” She then pushed off of the counter and went over to the fridge and pulled the jug out and then came and heaved it onto the counter. Obviously she couldn’t pour it by herself and thus waited patiently for Quint to do so for her.

Her toes wiggled excitedly as she stood there next to him in the kitchen. How nice it was to be in his company once more!

He took up the jug once it was in reach and poured out the juice for each of them and then closed the jug once more and put it up again thus allowing Seidh to put the cups on the table herself if she felt that she was able to, "How are you doing, Seidh? Feeling alright?" he asked quietly as he made conversation with her. He was trying to find a nice graceful lead in to the topic but likely he'd just pile right into it as he always did.

Quint wasn't sure why he didn't want to be entirely too blunt with the girl at this point but either way he was interested in her well being. He quietly pulled out a chair for her to take a seat in before he pulled a chair out for himself.

She thanked him after he poured the juice and still wanted to be very helpful so she carefully picked up both of the cups and made a slow, steady trek back to the table. She set his cup down at the spot next to hers and then set her own cup down as well. “…I am good…!” Seidh replied, “I have been…making friends…” While that was a reason to be doing good, the true reason she was such in a good mood right now was because Quint was here.

The small girl blushed a bit as he pulled her chair back out for her and she climbed back into it, thanking him quietly. “…How are you?”

The teen smiled a bit at the smaller girl, "Good, I am glad to hear it," he replied as he gently pushed her chair in a bit so she can reach her food and drink and then moved to sit nearby. He got himself settled and quietly started to eat. He gazed over at her and answered, "I'm doing good, too. I also made some friends," he said to her quietly.

He took a sip of his drink as he wondered what to say next. After a pause he decided to delve right in, "I ... got some mail the other day, Seidh..."

Wow, she wasn’t use to this kind of treatment from anyone other than Freyr and her mother! Quint pushing in her chair was very nice! Seidh smiled a bit when Quint said he was doing well too and under the table her feet swung back and forth in a pleased manner. The small girl pulled her plate even closer to her and grabbed her slice of pizza and took a nibble off of the end. As the teen started to speak once more he had her undivided attention.

At his statement she tilted her head curiously, waiting to hear more and wondering where this could be going. How awesome that he got mail! She wished she would get mail too!

When she didn't seem to react to it he decided to get a little more specific, "The letter appeared to be from you, Seidh. Did...you write me a letter?" he asked quietly as he left his pizza unattended for a moment as he watched the girl.

He wouldn't tell her what she did was bad and he wouldn't reject her but he would at least get her to understand where he was at. He liked the girl and enjoyed being around her because she was such a calm and sweet little girl but for now she needed to understand that despite how she felt or either of them felt at all it wouldn't be much done about it.

As far as he knew she had sent the letter rather purposefully.

As he elaborated, the girl’s brow furrowed. Yes…she did write him a letter…but it was safely tucked away in her journal (or so she thought) and she had no intention of sending it at all, so his words confused her. “But I…didn’t send you anything…” The small girl replied softly and hesitantly for she didn’t like uncertain circumstances, and she was being honest! She didn’t send him any letters at all!

Quint frowned a bit but not at her. Had someone written a letter in her name and sent it? He had never really seen Seidh's handwriting so he couldn't tell for sure at least not entirely but at least he had thought to take the letter there with him. Quietly he paused and took the letter out of the messenger bag he still had draped over his shoulder. He felt comfortable enough to keep it there so why take it off?

He handed her the letter, "Then who is this from, Seidh? Do you know?"

Seidh was quite befuddled. How could he get a letter from her when she didn’t even send anything? It hadn’t crossed her mind yet that she had dropped the letter and a certain brother had taken the liberty to send it. She watched as he moved to reach into his messenger bag and upon seeing a familiar sheet of paper, the girl suddenly paled as her stomach clenched.

No…

She stared at for a long moment as her lips suddenly pulled down into a very worried look and a small hand hesitantly reached out for the letter as if it might bite her.

It couldn’t…

Her hands shook a bit as she unfolded the letter and it didn’t take more than a few glances across the paper to come to the horrible realization that this was the love letter she had written that was suppose to be securely tucked away in her journal. Seidh’s bottom lip started to quiver as her eyes grew wide and moist. No he wasn’t ever supposed to see this! Her hands tightened on the paper as she suddenly jumped down from the chair and fled out of the kitchen and down the hall and into her room, crawling over her bed and quickly opening her stand drawer and pulled out her journal, flipping the book open to the paper she had folded in there. She yanked it out and hurriedly unfolded it, only to find it blank.

It…it had to be some mean joke!

The journal fell to the floor along with the two sheets of paper as the girl sat there kneeled on the floor, her lip quivering harder as the big salty tears started to pour down her cheeks. He was going to hate her now! The way he reacted to that letter….oh….Seidh let out a sob as she pulled her knees up to her chest and pressed her hands against her eyes. It was the end of her little world!

She even wished that aliens would come down right now in their spaceship and take her away!

He watched her quietly but with concern as she took the letter and things just ran downhill from there. It had hit him oddly when she trembled and reacted so traumatized by the whole event he thought he had been doing good up until this point. Quint hadn't taunted her and he hadn't yelled at her for it either and then she ran away. "Seidh!" he called after her trying to ineffectively get her to stop but alas she was already gone. He sat at the table for a moment as he reached up and rubbed at his neck before he took off the messenger bag and placed it in his chair when he got up. Quietly he padded over toward where Seidh's room was. It wasn't hard to find just listen for the sniffling.

Quint got to her room. First he gently knocked on the doorframe before he moved to invite himself into her room. To see her so tearful struck him harshly. He didn't like it when girls cried more so he hated it when a girl cried that he was friends with. "Seidh, don't cry, please stop crying. Nothing is wrong. Okay? I just...I wanted to talk to you about it."

Quietly he moved toward her and kneeled down in front of her bed, his hands gently reaching for her to tug her hands from her eyes so he could get ye contact and see her, "C'mon Seidh you're so pretty when you smile," he said sincerely trying to cheer her up to stop her from crying.

It didn’t take too long before the sniffling broke out into heart wrenching sobs as her small frame started to rock back and forth. She was just so upset beyond reason! Her little world had been shattered by that…that stupid brother! Quint was probably going to hate her and think that her letter was stupid and that her feelings weren’t real and that she was just a kid and her mind went on and on, and over the sobbing she didn’t hear a knock on the doorframe. She didn’t register that he was there until she heard his voice to which she wailed, “You weren’t ever suppose to see it! I didn’t send it out! I was never going to send it!” Her wails ended in some more sobs followed by a hiccup and she would admit…that his words kind of threw her off. What did he mean….that nothing was wrong…?

Her crying wasn’t about to stop right now though and she tried her hardest at the moment to keep her hands to her face when he reached out for her because there was a tiny solace of comfort in not being able to see anything at the moment. She blubbered something incoherent when he said she was pretty when she smiled, his words slowly starting to creep in.

The teen frowned a bit at her words just barely making them out amongst the sobbing the small girl was doing and when she didn't let him move her hands he moved onto the bed with her and went about trying to gather her up in his arms just so he could hold her hoping that it'd make her stop eventually so she'd listen, "Seidh, please stop crying. I didn't know it'd make you so upset to bring it up," he pleaded softly as he tried to calm her down. Honestly he would have burned the damn thing if he knew it'd make her cry so much just seeing it and talking about it.

He was waiting patiently he wanted her to hear his words, "Seidh I can't talk to you like this I need you to calm down," Quint pleaded unsure what else to say as he kept trying to comfort her. He was at a loss of what else to do; he was hoping that she'd remain sane through out the whole event-- silly Quint! Her distress was making him distressed.

The small girl didn’t resist being moved and as soon as he picked and gathered her up her hands immediately went to his shirt, clenching the fabric tightly as she then buried her face against the fabric as well. A few more sobs wracked her small frame before they started to quiet down into sniffles for Quint’s efforts to calm her really were working. He wasn’t yelling, he wasn’t telling her she was stupid…how could she keep crying? After a few more moments the sniffles faded into small gasping breaths here and there as she shoulders would shake a bit every now and then.

Seidh kept her face pressed against his shirt as she more or less quieted, though her grasp on his shirt was still just as firm.

He let her do whatever she wished so long as she calmed down and he quietly moved to brush a few stray hairs from her face with a small frown. He'd done something terrible to her or so he felt. He'd made her upset and he wasn't sure he'd be able to forgive himself for it but he opted to focus on her still as he held her and awkwardly rested his cheek on top of her head. He didn't want to keep upsetting her but quite honestly they needed to talk this over and get a few things straight between each other before things can continue and lapse into something that resembled normal.

Quint missed the quiet moment they shared prior just trying to eat dinner but life couldn't be a constant stream of rainbows and puppies.

The teen took in a deep breath as he quietly uttered the question, "Seidh, do you really feel the way you say in that letter? Do you think it'll ever change?" It was perhaps an unfair question in most aspects but still he wanted to know her take on it before he brought up a compromise of any sort.

His shirt still smelled very nice, it smelled like Quint and that was a smell she liked, despite the circumstances. She even liked the feel of his fingers brushing some of her hair away and she also liked it when she felt his cheek resting on the top of her head. He wasn’t…yelling…he wasn’t being mean…he was holding her and comforting her…he…cared about her feelings. She sniffled lightly once more as she intently listened to his next words and she was silent for a long moment. She couldn’t go back in time and they were here right now and if there was one thing that Akuja had taught her, it was to be truthful and stand for what you believe in.

“…I…I do..I…I don’t love a…a…anyone else.” Aside from her family, fish and plush, but obviously they knew what the topic at hand was right now. “…I…I want to be grown up….r…right…n…n..now.”

He just kept holding onto her and listened to her quietly. Never once would he tell her that she's too 'young' to feel the way she does, honestly he had no right to say such things to her since he was a rather intense child himself before he finally grew. He stared straight ahead and even smiled a little. Something about her words made him happy inside, it made him feel more accepted by at least someone outside of his family and current friends. It was something that couldn't be described as 'love' but it was the start of something, a bud.

"I can't ... promise you I can feel the same, not right now, Seidh, not yet. You have...Every right to feel how you feel right now and no one can take it from you," he said quietly as he maintained his position with her, holding onto her just to help her understand what he's trying to tell her. "I know it seems like it'll be a long, long while before you're older but I promise you, that when you're old enough and your Mom says it's okay with her...I'll take you out on dates and we'll see what happens."

She sat there securely in his arms, sniffling ever so slightly every now and again after she spoke. One hand stiffly released his shirt so that it would wipe at her eyes and once she was done with that it immediately went back to grasping his shirt. Upon hearing his first words, the small girl couldn’t help but feel disappointed but she did know that he likely wouldn’t feel the same way she did right now. She didn’t know how to explain it exactly, but she just...knew.

At he continued on, she tilted her head a bit to peak up at him, catching a glimpse of his jaw as she felt a bit enlightened upon hearing that it was okay for her to feel the way she did. That meant a lot.

At the mention of a long, long while, the small girl heaved a heavy sigh. She may have usually been a patient child, but not when it came to growing up! Maybe if she wished hard enough could grow up really fast! As she heard the word ‘promise’ her lips parted a bit curiously and upon hearing that he would take her out on dates a warmth started to develop on her chest, but she quickly quelled the feeling with a bad thought. “…W…what if…y…you already have a…a….girlfriend….when I grow up?” She whispered. Because who really knew when she could get older, and of course there were plenty of other, older, prettier girls out there…and Quint was really nice…he totally might get a girlfriend!

He smirked slightly at her concern and shook his head as he tilted his head to look down at her quietly to see her face and so she can see his as well. Quint seemed thoughtful for a long moment though, he couldn't exactly say he would never meet anyone else that he might consider between now and the time she grows up, it'd be harsh to say he wouldn't and bring her hopes up. He didn't want to do that. The teen decided to simply say, "I promised you the dates first, so you got first dibs, okay? No matter what happens in the future you get to be my first date."

It was the best he could do and offer the child in such an uncertain time period. If someone took a fancy to him they would have to wait while he fulfilled a promise to the small girl that currently sat on his lap. She was the first one to emotionally reach out to him so she got the pleasure of being his first date when she became of age.

Seidh looked up at him as she waited for an answer, almost…afraid of what it could be. When he finally replied to her question she had mixed feelings. She was happy because a promise was a promise and he’d date her first but…she was intelligent enough to know that his words implied there could be others! She was a child, she didn’t really know or believe in being realistic and if anything she was suffering from a bit of tunnel vision.

She let out another sigh as her shoulders slumped and then she puffed out her cheeks a bit. No, he was her Quint! No other girl could have him!

Quint chuckled a bit and leaned and gave her a bit of a headbutt. It felt more natural to be with her this way, she didn't make him feel near as awkward or uncertain as other people might, "C'mon Seidh, smile now," he tried to coax her gently. He truly did want her to smile and be happy again. He was doing the best what he could with the promises he could make and he couldn't do more than that no matter how much he wanted to. He could understand how she was feeling and he didn't want her to stop feeling them but he did want her to smile - at least a little.

"I doubt anyone else will want me anyways," he said simply with a small chuckle.

Seidh swayed a bit when she was lightly headbutted, blinking as the air escaped her cheeks. She did still have a small frown on her lips but it softened into a straight line when he tried coaxing her into smiling. Ah no fair! She was just driven by the desire to do what Quint wanted but at the same time, she wasn’t exactly ready to smile yet. After a moment, a finger came up and cautiously poked the teen’s nose. “…You first.” She murmured.

When the teen spoke up again, the girl’s expressions turned dismayed. Once again, she was on the fence. She was glad that no one else would want him because that meant he would be all hers…but at the same time, Quint was so nice, there should be people that wanted him! Such a tough fence it was.

He wrinkled his nose at the poke as he watched her face for a long moment. The teen could understand not being ready to smile but still he much preferred her to smile rather than frown and even her current expression was a very big improvement compared to earlier. He gave her a small smile showing his teeth as he did so. "There, I smiled for you," he said with a small laugh.

Quint blinked at her dismayed expression. Oh geeze he'd said something wrong again, "W..What is it? D...Did I upset you again?" he furrowed his brow in worry. Please don't cry again, he wasn't sure he could be able to handle a second wave of sobbing hysterics.

Her lips twitched when Quint wrinkled his nose and when he gave her a small even showing his teeth, her lips parted in curiosity as her expression looked a bit awed. “…Big cheesy smile now.” She uttered softly. She wanted to see his teeth again!

Her dismayed expression soon turned into a wide eyed one as both her hands then came up to cover her mouth. The way Quint was asking if he upset her again…his facial expression…it amused her for some reason! Amused her too much, a soft snort was heard behind her hands which covered her mouth.

The young man blinked at her request but saw no reason to deny it - unlike with most others where he might - he grinned nice and big to show all of his teeth for her. Besides she deserved to be humored at least a little bit this evening since he had caused her a lot of emotional stress. He kept the grin up for as long as he could.

Her sudden change to amusement - he hoped - was a bit unexpected as she even uttered a small snort after covering her hand. He uttered a small laugh and then moved his hands to tickle at her sides, "Ahhh, don't do that to me, Seidh," he said his tone taking a turn for the playful. Anything to keep her from crying again.

Seidh seemed even more delighted when he grinned nice and big for her. She wasn’t smiling yet, but her expression was that of pure awe as she leaned forward a bit to look at his teeth. They fascinated her! Her lips twitched once more as she then leaned back with her hands over her mouth.

Another soft snort was heard and the small girl could help but jump and then squeal and giggle as his hands moved to her sides. Oh no! She was ticklish there and her hands shot out to grasp each of Quint’s index fingers in an effort to stop her from becoming a squealing giggle rolling thing on his lap.

He wasn't sure what the fascination was but as long as she wasn't scared he wasn't going to think much more of it and be thankful for it as it was. Quint kept the grin for as long as he could before his face relaxed into a more natural smile because it was kind of hurting his face.

He continued to tickle her side as she squealed and giggled, this was a much needed improvement from earlier and he kept it up for as long as he could until she grasped his fingers and managed to get him to stop, he stared at her quietly, "We okay now? You ready to go back and eat dinner again?"

It was likely the pizza had long since gone cold but that was the charm of pizza, it was still good when cold.

The small girl thought Quint was pretty regardless of what he did, but she definitely liked it when he smiled. Is that what the fascination was with seeing people smile more? Seidh wiggled around like mad trying to escape the tickling until she finally got a hold of his hands, effectively stopping him. She took a few deep breaths as she stared back up at him for a moment before giving a small nod of her head. She sat up right then and hesitantly released his hands so that she could slide off of his lap and onto the floor.

“…I ruined dinner…I’m sorry.” She frowned a bit.

"You did not," he murmured quietly as he moved to stand after she got off his lap. "Nothing is ruined," he said simply as he offered his hand down to her so they could walk back to their dinner together, he offered her another small smile.

He refused to think of any part of their evening ruined. It took a little drama to get there but they had reached an understanding of sorts. "I'm glad I got the letter so we could have this talk, it means a lot to know you feel that strongly for me," he said honestly. Quint never really thought anyone would love him as much as this girl said she did.

Seidh seemed to feel better when he said that nothing was ruined. If he felt that way, then it had to be true! When she was on the floor, she bent to pick up her journal and the blank sheet of paper and put them back in the side table drawer. She then reached down to pick up the letter and held it while her other hand reached up to take his index finger as she followed him back to the kitchen.

As he spoke to her again, she turned her head up to listen to him and blushed a bit. “…R…really?” She questioned softly. If it meant a lot to him…that made her terribly happy. It made the crying session worth it. The small girl held the letter up to him. “…I want you to keep it.” She murmured. He had read it, there was no reason for her to hide it anymore, and it wasn’t like she needed it.

He had paused a moment to let her pick up after herself and then they went to the kitchen together. Once in the kitchen he nodded to her question and blinked as she offered the letter back up to him. The teen smiled lightly as he took the letter quietly not even asking if she was certain. It seemed silly to ask if she was certain or not since it was addressed to him, why would she want a letter that had already been delivered whether or not it was her intention. "Alright," he said quietly and escorted her back to her chair.

Once she was seated he put the letter back into his bag and draped the strap of the bag onto his chair and moved to seat himself once more so they can enjoy dinner, "I want to take pictures of you and your brother when we're done with dinner. Think that'd be okay?"

She was pleased when he took the letter and when escorted back to her chair she climbed back up into and actually eagerly pulled her pizza back to her and started to devour it. She was rather hungry after that whole little fiasco and even got another slice of pizza to eat. She paused when Quint asked if he could take pictures of her and her…brother. Oh yes…her brother. She did blush a tad because she found it to be flattering. The small girl gave a nod of her head and then replied. “…I’ll…go get him.”

There was something a bit off about that statement, as if she had something planned.

Quint finished his couple of pieces and even gotten himself one more piece before he considered himself good to go on the food front. He was quietly enjoying his juice when she answered his question and raised an eyebrow at the reply. He sensed something was off but felt that it was within her rights to seek revenge in whatever way she wished so at the moment he turned a blind eye toward it. After all he'd want revenge too if someone had sent off something he wasn't intending to have anyone read. In fact he often got revenge on Kay when they went out and about because his brother often tried to push him on girls or the other way around. He nodded quietly, "Alright, I'll be here," he said simply with a small smile.

He only hoped she wouldn't be TOO rough on the boy.

After she was done with her pizza, Seidh took some sips of her juice in order to ‘prepare’ to go and get Fremere. Seidh hopped down from her chair and went and placed her plate in the sink, but before she went to go get her brother she went into the laundry room where she left plush Quint on top of the dryer. She walked back out with the large plush in her arms and then more or less plopped the plush right onto the teen Quint’s lap. “That is Quint, Quint.” She replied softly before she disappeared out of the kitchen and down the hall.

There was the sound of a door opening and it was silent for a few moments until a loud THAWACK was heard followed by a loud, pained yelp.

Seidh had her hands resting on her hips as she puffed her cheeks out and just glared at her brother. “I’m sorry!” The boy cried out, rubbing his head as he grinned back at his sister rather sheepishly and apologetically. He really didn’t mean to cause his sister any heartache, but from the sounds of it now, things were working out, and that was good in his eyes! Seidh glared at her brother for a bit longer before she flattened her cheeks and lets her hands hang down at her sides. “…I forgive you.” She replied softly after a moment. She didn’t have it in her to be angry for long, if at all and though it did cause a bit of heartache…things were good now and she did get her revenge, so she felt better.

She then explained that the boy was to come out to the living room for pictures and soon enough the two children appeared together in the kitchen.

The teen blinked when he was introduced to his own namesake and quietly draped his arms around it now that it was on his lap hugging it to him since he was at a loss of what else to do with it. He watched her as the girl wandered to her brother's room and when he heard the noises from the boy's bedroom he choked back some laughter. He still had the plush on his lap as he pulled his bag toward him as he took out a small camera so that he could take a few pictures when the two arrived into the kitchen which didn't take long. He tucked the plush under his arm and quietly motioned for them to go into the living room. "Let's go in there, seems a better place to take pictures in," he said quietly.

He would take a couple pictures of the siblings together and then take some of each of them alone. Maybe offer one of them to take pictures of him if they wanted or even insisted on it, but for the most part it was something new for them, something that would break up their usual routine before bedtime would come.

Two children nodded their heads and wandered off into the living room, where Seidh wandered over to the fish tank and pointed to the oranda that was orange and black. “He is Quint, too.” She informed the teen. Whether that fish was really a female or not, who knew, and for all Akuja or the children cared for, it was a boy fish named Quint. Fremere nodded his head in agreement before turning his own attention to the teen, waving his arms a bit in excitement.

“So what do we do?”

Quint stared over at the tank when she informed him that one of the fish were also named Quint and he laughed a little bit, "A lot of Quints running about in this place," he observed as he gently moved to offer the girl her squishable back so that she could hold it or pose with it, whatever she wanted to do with it, honestly. He looked from one child to the other and laughed a bit, "Do whatever you want. Smile, don't smile, dance, do whatever makes you happiest to do. I just want to take some pictures of you guys. Just don't move around too fast or the camera won't catch it all, okay?"

He shifted a bit from side to side as he watched them, waiting for them to go into motion. As soon as they did he would start taking pictures of them, hopefully he'd get a few of them together at least no matter what they did. Quint enjoyed their contrast in personality and appearance.

Seidh welcomed back the plush happily, taking it from the teen and hugging onto it…oh…it smelled like him now. The small girl smiled a bit at this and at Quint’s observation. Yes, there were three Quints in the house right now that was a good amount. As his words, both the children looked thoughtful before Seidh perked up a bit as she spoke to her brother. “We have to feed the fish.”

“Oh yeah!” Fremere agreed as he went over to the fish tank to stand next to his sister and opened the lid while Seidh put her plush on the couch and then came back and got the fish food. She took a bit in her fingers and then sprinkled it in, and both the children peered into the tank, watching as the large, round orandas started to eat the flakes. That was one of their favorite things to do during the day, watch the fish. After that was done, Seidh put the food back ontop of the tank and Fremere closed the lid and then ruffled his hair, wondering what to do next, when he suddenly came up with an idea.

He turned to the teen, grinning, as his hands made a heart shape. Seidh leaned and blinked, looking at this nifty hand sign and stared down at her own hands before she mimicked her brother.

Quint waited for a moment before they suddenly went about feeding fish and he took pictures of that quietly, catching each of their expression and trying to get the contentment they seemed to feel as they watched the fish. When that was done and Fremere seemed to have a bright idea for a pose which Seidh copied he took a picture of it and after that he gave them directions on what else to do and other poses and captured those as well. Some of the pictures were of the siblings together but much of them were of them separately. When that was done Quint pocketed the camera and told 'Astley' that he was free to do as he pleases now unless he wanted to sit and watch television with him and Seidh until bedtime.

He quietly waited for the children to figure out what they would do next now that the impromptu photo shoot was over.

After having their fish tank and hand symbol adventure, the two went about doing various things in attempts to give their baby sitter good shots. They listened intently to his directions followed them and they had a really good time doing that. Fremere excitedly commented on how fun that was and had danced around the teen for a moment before zipping off to his room to finish his letters. Seidh on the other hand held her plush within her grasp and stood next to Quint before she looked up at him curiously.

“…Movie?”

Quint watched as the excitable boy danced around him and then zipped off, "Glad you had fun, Astley," he called after the boy with a small chuckle. Then he turned to look down at Seidh and tilted his head a bit, "Hmmm, sure what you wanna watch?" he asked as he held his down to her so she could lead him to the movies where she would pick one out. Honestly he didn't mind what they watched he was about ready to just sit and relax now and put the dramatic evening behind him.

Other than the weep-fest it was a pretty good evening.

Seidh readily took his hand and led him over to the movie collection where she then picked out The Labyrinth. Like a good girl, she also knew how to work the DVD player and thus put it in. Afterwards she took Quint’s hand again and led him to the couch where she climbed onto it and waited for him to get settled before she sat all snugged up to his side and started to watch the movie with the plush on the other.

---
When it was the right time, Fremere was a good boy and put himself to bed on his own, and even a bit before their bed time, Seidh had fallen asleep during the movie. Before that though, the girl had managed to get herself situated back into the teen’s lap, and was now laying across it, all snuggled tightly around his torso with her face turned toward him as her small hands tightly fisted the material of his shirt.

Weep fests took a lot out of little girls.

---
Sometime after the assigned bed time, Akuja returned home from work, coming in quietly and taking off her shoes, looking up to find the baby sitter and the little girl on the couch. She came over quietly, smiling a bit at the sleeping Seidh and speaking softly to Quint.

“…I hope they were good?” They usually always were…hopefully they didn’t turn into little brats while she wasn’t there. That wouldn’t be good at all.

He let her pick the movie and put it in and let her snuggle right up to his side as they watched television. He didn't have to call in after Fremere as he heard the boy rumble about and get ready for bed so that was one less thing to worry about. Quint was about to usher the small girl to bed as he looked down at his lap and noted that she was fast asleep staring up at him. He'd been staring at the movie the entire time that he hadn't realized it. Quint managed to take out his camera without upsetting Seidh and took a picture of her peacefully sleeping face and then just let her stay as she was until Akuja came home.

Quint looked up at Akuja and stared at her quietly as he spoke in a serious tone, "They were horrible. Seidh and Fremere fought the entire time and then the whole place caught on fire. I only just now managed to get the whole thing rebuilt and furnished as you left it," he replied.

Akuja couldn’t help but blink at the serious tone and it took for a few moments to process this information before she softly chuckled. She wasn’t expecting that from the teen! “…Mmm wow, the place looks great, you even got identical copies of the pet fish. I’m very impressed.” She replied quietly with amusement as her attention turned back to her sleeping daughter. “…Is that where she’s there with you, to stop the fighting?”

Quint smirked a bit, "You won't believe how difficult it was, it took me forever," he replied to her comment about how impressed she was at how he was able to replace everything. He tilted his head at her inquiry before he nodded a bit, "Yeah it's her punishment to stay with me the entire night, she fell asleep on me so I think it failed, still I'm leaving her with you so you can deal with her horrid temper tantrum upon my exit," he said with a bit of a laugh.

Right now he wasn't certain Seidh was going to let him go any time soon, she seemed rather latched onto his shirt.

“The effort really shows.” The older woman replied once more, still quite amused. “Punishment, huh? Yeah, she really looks like she learned her lesson.” She chuckled once more. “Damn, my partying for tonight is short lived since you’re letting her unleash the tantrum on me when you leave.” Speaking of leaving, it looked as if the teen wouldn’t be able to at this rate. It was time to help him out.

Akuja came closer and minding his personal space, moved her fingers to slip between the fabric and Seidh’s fingers, to which the girl unconsciously released for the time being and it was then that she placed her hands under the girl’s body and lifted her up so that she was sleeping on the older woman, her head on Akuja’s shoulder. The woman was even able to grab the plush Quint because the gods forbid she went to bed without him.

“…Thank you for watching them…not only did it help me out…but it meant a lot to her too. She’s…pretty fond of you.” The woman smirked a bit.

He laughed a bit, "That's what you get for leaving her with me," he replied as he let her invade his personal space a bit to retrieve the girl. He felt an odd mixture of sadness and relief (he needed to move his legs they'd become numb) as he shifted his body a bit and stiffly moved to stand up so that he could finally stretch. He looked at Akuja when she noted that her daughter was fond of him.

...Understatement of the Year award goes to Akuja.

"Yeah...Something like that," he murmured quietly, "seems she's a little more than fond of me." It was in his way to be honest especially to a parent. "I promised her I'd take her out on dates when she gets old enough, I hope that's alright."

“Don’t worry, I’ve learned my lesson too, then.” The woman replied, swaying lightly to keep the girl lulled in sleep. It would probably be easier for her to stay asleep while Quint took his leave. At the teen’s words, the woman chuckled once more. She was going to put it lightly, but since he already knew…

“Didn’t want to put you out there about her feelings, didn’t want to make you feel odd, but since you’re already aware then, I’ll stop sugar coating it. Trust me, I knew something was up with she named a pet fish after you and when she saw that plush in the mall…she just had to have it, didn’t want the cat, the frog, the dog…no…she wanted the shark…” She laughed softly, still very amused. At his last words, the older woman blinked a bit. “…Wow…she really worked you over.” Akuja teased.

Could she say she was against that? Nope, because Akuja was finding a comfort in Seidh liking this teen, because this teen was just like her. She would worry for both her and Fremere if they ever happened to try and get into a relationship with someone who was ‘normal’…would that person accept them for what they were? Would they understand? These were common worries but…this teen…it was comfort.

“…Yes…that would be alright…more than alright, actually.” The mother replied after a moment. Man…Seidh dating? Older? She didn’t even want to fathom that right now, not especially since she was still so little and in her arms.

"Good, would hate to think you learned nothing at all from this," he replied watching her as she swayed and then listened as she continued to talk. He was collecting his things as she chattered to him so that he could leave quietly he smiled a little bit and shrugged quietly, "I was touched, what can I say? She's one of the few that doesn't get intimidated by me or by the way I look and she's ... honest about her feelings. I guess it just felt...alright to tell her that...I don't know..It wasn't out of pity or anything so don't worry about that."

Sure the girl was acting sad and pathetic at the time but he meant what he said and he didn't feel pity when he said it.

He nodded slightly as he moved to pull on his boots with a small chuckle, "I'm sure it'll be a while before she gets any older. Enjoy it," he told Akuja as if he sensed her thoughts but the truth was he knew he'd feel the same if he had been put in her situation.

The older woman chattered a bit, and once she was done she listened to the teen intently, seeming a bit relieved. “…I’m glad it wasn’t out of pity.” She didn’t want anyone to feel pressured or hurt…if everything was welcomed and accepted that just made it better. If the teen didn’t want the girl’s affections, she would have started to work on discouraging the girl…and that would have been hard.

At his words about her growing older, Akuja couldn’t help but sigh as he drove the point home more or less. It would be a while still…but it wouldn’t be like the growth of a normal child it seemed…she should start taking a lot more pictures then. Pictures were always a good thing. “…Have a good night. Thank you once again.”

He smiled a bit as he straightened and made sure he had everything. Even though he thought about giving the money back he had decided to keep it, "She doesn't need pity," he replied simply as he lifted up his hand to wave.

"I'll see you guys later, don't have too much fun. Fremere went to bed on his own and there's still some pizza left, sorry I hadn't done at least a couple of the dishes, got kind of wrapped up in stuff." Quint said quietly just giving an actual rundown of what all went on other than the whole event with Seidh which wasn't really explained since it didn't really need to be. He then turned and left after a final wave.

Not that Akuja would let him give the money back and if he decided to, she’d make sure it’d get back to him someway, some how. At his words about bit she gave a small nod of her head. “No one does.” She replied as she walked after him a bit to the door, adjusting the sleeping girl gently.

“We’ll try not too.” She replied and at his words she waggled her fingers a bit dismissively. So he didn’t do a few dishes, that didn’t bother her at all. Just as long as he and the kids had a good time, that’s all that mattered. She wished him a good night once more before closing the door behind him and then worked on getting the little one to bed. Once the girl was securely in bed and all tucked in with her Quint plush, she leaned and pressed a kiss to her forehead before leaving and going to check in on Fremere.

The small girl slept rather well that night.
