╔════════════════════════════╗ Benjamin Olson Fifteen Years Old - Fifth Year - Hufflepuff - Halfblood Keeper - Member of the Art Club & Drama Club ╚════════════════════════════╝
Although Skyla made it clear that Benjamin didn’t have to carry her books for her, he took them anyway (not that she put up any fight by handing them to him) as she clung onto the railing, tears welling in her eyes. It crushed him to see her upset and in pain. It probably also didn’t help that everyone around them was staring, eyes seemed to peer over every ledge. Ben didn’t care that everyone was staring, and even if it had been him, he still wouldn’t care. But the seventh year sure seemed to care, which only made him want to switch places with her more. “My adventure was also going to take place at the library,” he assured. He really need a third arm – two to carry both of their textbooks and one to hold his crush while helping her walk. “Is that still your plan?” he asked, more concerned than anything. Of course he would help her get to the library and get settled once they got there if she wanted to, but the shaking really freaked him out. “You sure you don’t want to go to the hospital wing?” he asked in a hushed tone, trying not to embarrass her in front of the looky-loos. At least they weren’t in earshot.

Skyla was grateful Ben just happened to be nearby and that he was kind enough to hold her books. They seemed so much heavier in these final years... or she was just getting weaker. Definitely one or the other. Or probably both. As she held onto the railing, she asked about his plans. Surprise, he mentioned going to the same destination. What fascinating odds. Since her books were being held, Sky rest her hand on her hip, carefully pushing the bone back into place with an audible pop. She grimaced at the sound, then looked over at Ben.
"Yea, that sure is my plan. We can go together, if you want. We can study together. I've passed at least some of your classes, I'm sure." She laughed quietly, doing a little squat to make sure her hips were cooperating once more. Her knees were still shaky, most likely from the painful bruising now coating her legs and back. Ben, looking rather concerned, asked if she didn't want to go to the hospital wing. "Psh, nah. I've taken harder hits on the quidditch pitch. I just got distracted and clumsy. Though these stairs should really get some non-slips on them, right?" She sent over a conspiratorial grin, hoping to reassure him that she was fine. She still had some quidditch to play, so for now, she had to force herself into being okay enough to get by.

They tell us that we're too lost dreaming, too busy throwing rocks at the ceiling They tell us there ain't no ever after, to us the real world never mattered We just wanna live like we'll die young! Don't wanna grow up, don't wanna go numb Wear our rebel hearts like a diamond and burn it somewhere they'll never find 'em We're chasing shadows in concrete castles, running through the dark of night With scrapes on our knees and rips in our jeans Don't matter if it's wrong or right!

I guess to you now, I'm just a face in the crowd Oh God, kinda please, would you kill me now? Late at night in my room, lie awake, think of you And all your little doomst ᖇᥲʋᥱᥒᥴꙆᥲω ᖴɩɾ⳽t Ƴᥱᥲɾ 🟡 Ƴoᥙᥒɠᥱ⳽t ᔑɩᑲꙆɩᥒɠ 🟣 ᙎᥲꙆꙆƒꙆoωᥱɾ 🍎🧀🍊🍍Bryn was happy it was almost the winter holidays so he could finally go home. He missed his mothers more than he had realized and while he was grateful to his siblings and cousins for looking out for him, he just really wanted his moms and his own bed. And to ensure that he enjoyed his time comfortably, he was focusing on finishing if not all but the majority of his holiday work before joining Wen and some others for snow fun. He had Chabbit with him but for once it wasn't because he thought he'd need him. His plush friend was only going to be keeping him company while he finished his work and then would be going back to enjoying the warmth of their dorm. The young boy was so focused on getting down the steps safely that he barely registered the other students flowing past him. At least until he felt a harsh shove from his back causing him to stumble and drop Chabbit off the side of the staircase.
Bryn's heart instantly jumped into his throat as he frantically peered over the side trying to locate where his friend had landed before he rushed down the stairs to locate him. Since it was the weekend there weren't too many students just walking the hallways which made it that more harrowing that he couldn't find where his plush had fallen. He quickly wiped at his eyes to keep any tears at bay, not wanting to completely lose it just yet. He scoured the area he was sure he had fallen and was ignoring the looks and whispers as he was now on hands and knees carefully looking just in case Chabbit had fallen in some magical crawl space.
"Bryn? What are you doing down there?" A shiver unconsciously went down Bryn's spine at the sound of Rian's voice but he still looked up to face the other first year only to let out a startled gasp.
"Chabbit!"
The other boy seemed pleased with his reaction as he was holding the stuffed rabbit close to his person. "Yes, I figured this belonged to you, obviously anyway. You should really take better care of your things, Bryn, poor little thing could've been trampled." Bryn felt a flush work up his cheeks and a stone settle into his stomach as he began to climb back onto his feet to then gasp in pain as a foot stepped onto his hand. He looked up to see Rian staring blankly down at him, his position not giving away what he was doing to any onlookers.
"Oh! I'm sorry. It's just, you're being quite rude. When a friend does something nice for you, you're supposed to say 'thank you.'" The Ravenclaw curled his hurt close to himself but didn't away since he remembered what happens when he does. He also knew that if he didn't say anything, the other boy would stop being as nice as he had.
"Brynnie! What're doing on the floor? Did you lose something?" Bryn allowed the relief of hearing his cousin's voice wash over him, noting the sudden tick in Rian's jaw before his face smoothed into its usual serenity.
"He did, yeah. But I helped him find it." Rian responded, smilingly slightly up at the older girl which gave the other boy the chance to finally get off the dirty floor.
Rosa for the most part looked puzzled as her hazel eyes bounced between the two first years before finally settling on the one holding a familiar plush. "Wow, you two must be really good friends if he's letting you hold Chabbit!" she remarked with wide eyes. Rian's grin widened and his eyes took on a bit of a sparkle.
"I'd sure like to think so! But I just got lucky today, someone just had a bit of an accident." Without any fanfare or preamble, he held the plush towards Bryn who only hesitated for a second before all but snatching his friend into his arms. Rosa just giggled at the interaction knowing how her baby cousin could be.
"Still, it's good he has friends to help, uhh....?" she left off hoping the other would catch her drift. It took him a moment before his eyes widened in surprise. "Oh! Sorry, I'm Rian Caulfrey. It's very nice to meet you miss!" Rosa spluttered at the addition.
"'Miss'?! I'm fourteen not forty! Goodness..." she huffed as the young first year just tittered at her outrage while Bryn just. Watched.
"'Anyway...Brynnie! I heard from Wen that you're supposed to be in the library, are you still heading there or coming back?" Rosa asked curiously looking over her cousin. Bryn just shook his head, still gripping onto his Chabbit tightly.
"...going there." he answered quietly. The Hufflepuff just nodded figuring as much. "Well, I'll come with you. I need to get a book anyhow. Unless I'm interrupting you two?" she asked looking over at Rian. Bryn quickly shook his head while Rian, thankfully, just laughed.
"I probably should be but no. I'm actually on my way to a club meeting so it was just luck I happened upon Bryn. I actually have to go now so I'm not too late. Have fun!" Rian waved to both of them as he departed down the hallway. Only when the boy turned a corner and couldn't visibly be seen did Bryn allow himself to breathe naturally. "You ready to go?" Rosa asked looking over her cousin once more, noting he seemed more tense than usual but knowing better than to ask outright. Bryn just nodded knowing nothing had fallen out of his backpack and now Chabbit was firmly in hand. He walked sedately beside his cousin as they walked towards the library, unconsciously hiding his bruised hand.
