Greek/Roman Mythology:

Venus (Roman) = Aphrodite (Greek) : Goddess of Love and Beauty. She was married to Hephaestus...but that didn't slow her down.

Symbols = apple/rose/scallop shell/the myrtus plant/dove

Mars (Roman) = Ares (Greek): God of war/bloodlust/violence/courage/civil order. He's the son of Zeus and Hera. He was a famous lover of Aphrodite.

Symbols = golden armor/the vulture/venomous snakes/dogs

Diana (Roman) = Artemis (Greek): Goddess of the hunt/wilderness/wild animals/childbirth/moon/plague. She's Apollo's twin.

Symbols = the hunting bow/hunting spears/animal pelts/deer/bears/wild boars

Saturn (Roman) = Cornus (Greek): The youngest of the first generation titans, but was also their leader. He overthrew Uranus by castrating him. He was then overthrown by his son Zeus and imprisoned in Tartarus.

Terra (Roman) = Gaia (Greek): The Greek version of Mother Earth and mother to all of the Titans.

Symbols = Earth/fruit

Pluto (Roman) = Hades (Greek): King of the Underworld and god of the dead/hidden wealth. (The original emo! He was rarely listed properly as an Olympian!) The elder brother of Zeus.

Symbols = key of Hades/the Helm of Darkness/Cerberus/screech owl

Mercury (Roman) = Hermes (Greek): The messenger god of travel/messengers/trade/thievery/cunning wiles/language/writing/diplomacy/athletics/farm animal breeding. He leads the souls of the dead to Hades. He's the son of Zeus (again!?) and Maia.

Symbols = Caduceus/winged sandals/traveler's cap/tortoise/ram/hawk

Neptune (Roman) = Poseidon (Greek): The storm god of the sea/rivers/floods/droughts/storms/earthquakes/horses. He's another sibling of Zeus.

Caelus (Roman) = Uranus (Greek): God of the sky and Father to the Titans, along with several other creatures that appear through the mythology.

Symbols = Sky/Mountains/Earth

Jupiter (Roman) = Zeus (Greek): MAN WHORE! The king of the gods/ruler of Mount Olympus/sky/weather/thunder/law/order/fate. He has nearly 100 children (or at least of the ones we KNOW about >_>) with over 40 different women.
