Shinta cried out in fury as the shadow grasped his arm, causing him to drop the torch. He felt her fingers start to slip in his...
"No, I will not let them harm her! Not again!" His fury formed an invisible wave around them that pushed the shadows back slightly.
"You can never escape..." The voices hissed in his mind.
Shinta bared his teeth in a snarl, his eyes glaring. "So be it, but she will."

Seeing Shinta trying to fend off the creature, Sasha mustered all of her remaining strength to try and break free...gripping the swordsmans arm tighter, she tried to reach for the silvery charm around her neck, thats when the voices came again...
-..He's strong for a human.....he's ssstrong..too..strong...must..crush him..kill...kill...kill him!...
-"No!!..Don't hurt Shinta-sama!" Sasha shouted at them in fear, letting her guard down..
-...Heh heh heh...if you don't ssstop resissting...we sh-shall destroy your precioussse hero...and...we are ssso hungry...we know...about her!...we know!... they echoed back..
Sasha felt her heart tighten at these words..
-"What do you mea-...no..nee-san..."..she whispered...
-Heh heh heh!...a vagrant sssoul like her will be a fitting meal for usss....she ssshall be devoured if you don't surrender! they told her in malicious triumph...
The situation seemed hopeless to the girl at the moment...so she could think of only one thing left to do..managing to break her left arm free for a little while, she tore off her necklace and quickly clasped it in Shinta's hand..tears welled up in her eyes as she said...
"Shinta-sama..this is all my fault..I'm so sorry I put you in so much danger..so let me save you this time!..please..run!..I'll figure out a way to escape!"...with that she let go of his arm and let the darkness consume her...
The wraiths disappeared as quickly as they had come..and all became silent once again..except for the sound of cackling echoing far off in the distance..
