But that's not the point of this thread. These Japanese people came to our school and gave us oragami and I was likezOMG cool!!! it has wings!!!! but what is it? And the lady didn't know how to say it in English and so she took out this translator and was like booboodoopoodoop and found and and it said cicada... only I hjad never heard that word before because where I'm from we call them locusts (Down here in texas lol!) anywho...
disscuss: nifty translators.

What you get if you try to put a whole sentence in Japanese into an online dictionary and then translate it back to English

I remember, my freshman year of high school, I helped tutor our Japanese exchange student, Tomo. He had a hard time with his english and he had this cool little translator that he would type in the word that he wanted to say in Japanese and it would give him the english translation. I wanted one really bad because it would have helped me a lot when I was trying to talk to him. Plus, they're just really cool! heart
His only worked for single words, but they have them that can translate whole sentences, they cost a hell of a lot though.

Goodness, you only saw ONE!? Where were you!? gonk I've had them fly onto our veranda buzzing so loud, and I've had them flutter into my room and I'd freak out! LOL I even saw one jump on a woman's pants at the train station and it took her about 4 swipes and some yelping to make it get off her!!! rofl

They are everywhere in the trees.. if you want to see one next time, just follow the kids with little boxes hanging from their necks.. they are out to capture some semi! Also if you can't see them in low-lying branches, you can find their skins everywhere on the ground under trees.

Funniest way to see a semi is to see it perfectly flattened whole on the street from a car, LOL. lol
