The child fidgeted with the swipe card in her hands. Spinning it around with her fingers nervously as she looked back at the door. She hesitated for another moment, then sheepishly spoke up. "I...I'll...I'll only make things worse if I try to open the door and get the code wrong." she admitted. "If I get it wrong it's set to freeze up. Then no one will be getting in or out unless you manually unlock it from the main security room..."

"Well I am open to ideas on how to get out of here. Start thinking." the Count said as he turned his back to Rosie and looked at the camera. He got an idea and took out his knife. The Count walked over to the door and carved the word open into it before putting his knife away. Then he looked over at the camera and pointed at the door. He had little faith it would work but it was worth a shot. Hopefully whoever was in the main security room was willing to help.

The little girl looked nervously from the door to the security camera. She tried to think of a way, but there really wasn't any way for them to get out while the building was on lock down. She didn't have the code to get through, her powers had very little offensive capabilities to deal with the door or the man... there... really wasn't anything more she could do.

Oddly enough though... barely a minute after the Count had carved the message on the door and pointed to it, there was a startling "thunk" of something large and metallic hitting the floor. The little girl jumped slightly and turned to look at the door, her eyes wide. The lights were still saying that the building was on lock down, but... that sounded like the door... unlocking.

Her suspicions were confirmed when the door clacked, then slid to the side on it's own. Leaving nothing but open sewer on the other side of the door.

Someone in the security room had done the Count a favor. With as much trouble as he had caused, it shouldn't be anyone actually inside the building. The only people who would have helped him should have left the building quite a while ago. It was a fair assumption that at least one of them didn't do as they were told.

Edmond was far more that relieved when he heard the thunk and saw the door open. He moved over to the wall and carved "thank you". It was visible but barely. He had a feeling that he knew who was in the security room but did not have time to think about it now. instead he carved a message in the form of a word under the thank you. He carved the word Hurry. Then the Count turned to the third Rosie of the day. "Well this is goodbye." He said simply before heading off into the sewers. He still had to find a ladder up but that was far easier than everything else had been.

The child watched him leave, then began flipping the card in her hands nervously again. This was bad... she was going to get in trouble for this. Not... too much trouble hopefully... it wasn't like SHE opened the door for him or anything. But... she still led him to this place. They'd be angry. Very angry. And since he just got away, she'd be the only one to be angry at.

She... she should leave too. But, then they really would be angry at her. But if she stayed.... Nnnnh....

The child didn't have long to debate on what to do. The door clicked again, and began sliding back into place. Just... as the escape hatch sounded as though it had been ripped off of it's hinges. Claws scraped against the floor and growling echoed through the closed off hallway.

Fight or flight kicked in, and the child darted for the doorway before it closed on her.

Edmond was calm until he heard the door slam shut. But it was not just that that got his attention. He heard the clawing again. The Count turned and looked towards the door but could do nothing to open it. He felt bad about what was on the other side but had nothing to combat it. Slowly he backed away from the door and drew his knife. He didn't know how long he would have and if he could go back to his apartment and grab more arrows. So he just stood there waiting for anything to happen that would help him make his choice.

There was a long silent pause behind the door as the Count stared at it. It was an eerie sort of silence. There was no screaming, no hissing, no clawing. Just silence. It lasted a long minute or two before it was broken with a shrill shriek. Then quite a few hands began scraping and clawing at the metal door. Angry, determined swipes that dug hard at the door.

The door was holding strong, but it was hard to say how long or how quickly it would take those monsters to claw a hole through the door.e door. There was no sign of trouble

The Count came to the decision to return home after the silence had broken. no screams left him feeling fine. So he turned and travelled down the tunnels until he found a sewer entrance and he climbed up the ladder to get outside. Once he was free of the rotten smell he took one last looked back down before heading out for his apartment.

It wasn't very long before the door was ripped through. Claws finally found their way through the door, and weakened the door in just the right places for it to be ripped from the wall. A dozen of the symbiote creatures were waiting on the other side of the door. Finding no one in the serer, they all burst from the room and raced down the tunnels, determined to find the escaped intruder. Leaving an empty hallway behind.
