I figured that since I was in the guild, I might as well start a journal. Nothing to lose, right?
So. I am Kat, Chez, anything you want to call me. Really. I'm very versatile with names, and have about 20 nicknames. xD Oh. I'm fifteen, by the way.
I just graduated from high school. I'm going to be going to college once I get a house, though it'll probably be in the spring semester, so Nano is wonderfully free! No clue what I'm going to be majoring in- if I had my way, I'd just skip college and become a rockstar writer. (Well, drummer in a band, because I don't sing, but all the same.)
I've been writing… well. I've been writing for years, but I've only been writing well for about two or three. Started with fanfiction (and Mary-Sues- my friends and I have competitions on whose Mary-Sue was the worst. I win most of the time.), and I went up to normal fiction about half a year after that. Last year I participated in Nanowrimo, and won. I've never finished a story over 30 pages long, but I'm planning on finishing something this year, fanfiction or otherwise.
My goal is to have a story published by the time I go to college.
Let's see... I can't think of anything specific that needs to be said, as normally I randomly spit out things that really aren't of relevance but on my mind, so... yeah. Let's get this show on the road!

So, after, what, a month? I've finally come back to this journal. I'm procrastinating writing my Nano, but that's what journals are for, right?
So. I have 13,000 more words to write before I complete this year's Nano, and six days in which to do it. That should be easy enough, if I could just motivate myself to do it. Really, I should have known better than to write a story based purely on real life events- I thrive off of random events in my stories, and creating new situations that I have to work with my characters with to find a way out of. I like not knowing what's going to happen until it's down on the page, and that's obviously not possible with this story.
As so, I've been procrastinating by writing other things- like my fanfiction story (it's addictive, writing fanfiction), and one with Loki the Norse god as a chick. Another one with ghosts, and yet another with random prompts. I should really stop with my writing ADD- and now I want to write another fanfic story that I've been revamping when I wrote it in the middle of the night and rushed it too much. I would go to it, but it's on my broken computer- which, I'm not certain that it's even okay. The hard drive should be alright, but it won't turn on at all, and I'm worried.
Maybe for my birthday Mom will help me get all my stuff off of it. I don't want to wait any longer, but heck. My birthday's in December- ten days, actually- and it's been broken since September. I think I'll manage.
Pah. I need to write my Nano. Luckily, tomorrow I should have plenty of time- I'm going to my relatives for Thanksgiving (relatives I've never met, mind you), and Mom said that I should feel free to bring the laptop. Maybe that'll motivate me.

Annnnnd Nano is over! I managed to win it on the 26th, I believe- I'm shocked, since the year before it was a mad dash on the 30th. Funnily enough, I'm feeling the urge to rewrite 2009's Nano and dropping this year's for at least a month. I would do so, if I still didn't have most of my documents on my broken computer. Le sigh.
As is, I'll have time to work on other projects. I've had a fanfiction that I've been working on for two years- rewriting it once a year, since my writing has improved so much from my sad attempts two years ago. So, I'm going to redo what I have up, and then see if I can manage to finish it by June. Really not certain if I'll manage it since I'm not even halfway through with the whole story, but heck, if I finished Nano two years in a row, then it's worth a shot!
Also; three days! I'll be sixteen on the 5th. Scary, scary thought. I think I'll get myself a job at Barnes and Noble sometime after that.

Wow, I am so glad I didn't have a complicated theme set up for this. There's no way that I'd be able to remember it.
Actually managed to post stuff on ff.net! Even if I've gotten one review for the three things that I posted.
(That could easily be a power rant for me; I review everything I read, even if it's just to say that it's awesome or it needs work. Why can't everyone else give some feedback? We went through the time and effort to write that fanfiction, and I'm using it as training wheels so that I can actually write real stories without it sucking. I want to see what I do wrong, because that's the best way to get better, right? Oops, that was a rant, my bad.)
Either way. I think I'll actually finish my fanfiction story by June of 2011, maybe even sooner (which is a feat for me, considering every chapter is around 7,000 words and I have at least ten left). After that, I'm going to start a spin-off of it; a book I referenced but actually hasn't been written. I'm actually getting the urge to write it by hand in a leather journal and add drawings to it, but I probably won't do it. Either way, at least I'm starting it.
(And no, I'm purposely not mentioning Christmas. I haven't bought presents for anyone, and I'm currently in denial, kthnx.)
