"Though I hate to admit it...you may be right," Ayame muttered quietly looking troubled, "a few shinigami attacked me the other day and...I hesitated in killing them...they left without a scratch....I don't get it." She then looked at the coffin, "I just came to pay my respects though...nothing more.''

"I'm sure Kilala would appreciate that," Tokemaru replied, the necklace with the ring he has planed to propose to Kilala with was hanging in plain sight. "I don't care if you're an Espada or a shinigami Ayame, as long as the good person I knew is still in there...I'm sorry for what happened when you visited the seiretei after you reincarnated, I shouldn't have tried to force my help on you."

Ayame sighed and looked at Kilala's peaceful face, "I wish I'd known her better..."

Tokemaru thankfully took the kerchief and wiped his eyes. "You see that ring hanging from my neck? I was going to propose to her with it."

Ayame glanced at the ring, a slight smile came to her lips, "It's beautiful...I remember Ingfire and I..." The mention of her former lover brought a tear to Ayame's eye, "Before the menos...I had plans to propose as well.."

Tokemaru tucked the kerchief into his cloths and continued onward. He couldn't think of anything to say that would be of any comfort.

Tokemaru arrived at the site, tired and sweating from the long trek across the snow covered ground. He unstrapped himself from the coffin, removed the harness, and carefully laid the coffin down next to the hole the coffin would be buried in. "I'll be right back, I need to change," said the young captain as he walked off to change into his funeral cloths.
