"Not too shabby . . . for a rookie~"
Thus how it went for the better portion of fifteen minutes or so, with the two wolves draining the tree as much as they could with the hole they had created. The ants became privy a third of the way through, though, so unfortunately some of the leaves carried a few of them and let to a few bites around the paws and mouths. Not that Mama cared much; she was used to such things and barely flinched now before flicking the little monsters off, feeling new bumps with her tongue. No pain, no gain.
Then of course the wind began to pick up more, threatening to scatter their collection, so the pair was forced to move them further underground which took another ten or so minutes alone since several leaves indeed were swept up, the precious honey covered in whatever they landed upon. Still, for the most part this was decent work for only two wolves, Mama thought, and she let Jukka know that when they had finished.
"Alrigh', now we go decoratin'. We need the prettiest leaves you can find all up in a pile by the honey-soaked ones. Get as much s'you can in a mouthful, but try not to drool~" Mama told him with a cheeky grin as she once more headed outside.
