You can totally buy stuff for under 80 yen. A bar of chocolate runs for 78 yen at my grocery store, and the persimmons were on sale for 68 yen apiece when they first hit the market (they're up to 99 yen now, though). But.... yeah, your options are pretty limited.

What's up with 83.4 yen though? What currency does that translate to? Certainly not USD.

85 yen (四捨五入した　【Rounded】）　will by you:

candy (not too much though)
or
ice cream cone (though its is often 96 yen, not big at that)
or
hmm, stickers sweatdrop

Of course you have to by only one of everything i mentioned, at often, it isnt always 80 or under but higher. It cant buy you too much still. but it can do domething.
