Xero sat on the same hill where he was last with his friend, before all this. The lush green grass was a nice break from the hustle of the stone city. Xero had figured that he would have to remain in the city to find the answers he was looking for... the persian was of little help, but he was not to blame. This was a strange occurrence and perhaps it was not a plot of Rockets after all.
His tail curled around his legs as his arms folded across his chest.
It had been three days already since this all had started. Xero didn't stay in the shop long after scolding the Charizard-human. He even left without getting a second word in with the arcanine's human... In a split second of distraction he had caught who he thought to be his friend walking by the shop and left without any warning. He never caught up with this 'shadow', but it was after that chase he decided he would stay in the city for his answers. By the time he returned to the shop to obtain clothing everyone had already dispersed. After dressing properly he went back out into the city to look again for his friend.
It has been a routine since to search during the day, meditate in the forest for three hours into the night, than return to an abandoned house he found on the edge of the city to sleep.
However, this meditation session he couldn't help but think of that arcanine and her human. It was a bothersome distraction. Xero had yet to figure out where he had seen them before. Part of him regret not prying into the human's mind when he had the chance. A few moments of agony from the human would have settled this long term annoyance...

Things had become chaotic, moreso for her than most she though, though perhaps that was a very self-absorbed thing to say. But who else had retained a dog-like face? A light amount of fur all over? She was still more beast than human.
Perhaps that was fitting.
But honestly, that didn't bother her so much. What bothered her was being on her own. She had always had someone to protect, always a reason for living. That charizard had said that this was to give them all a new start. But who did she live for? She may be confident, may be combative and everything else, but in essence she worked for others- to protect, to teach, to self-sacrifice for. With these thoughts weighing upon her shoulders, she wandered out of the city, seeking quiet and solitude. Solitude was a loud thing, that was certain. When everything you once knew was gone, the world was a very loud quiet.
Ryan had long since gone home, wishing her a choking farewell, keeping his tears to himself until he had turned his back to his- and his mother's- most dear partner. Ky turned her still-black and dogishly sensitive nose to the wind, and a somewhat familiar scent pulled her in a direction, though she hadn't placed face to scent until she arrived at the crest of the hill upon which Xero sat.
Black ears tilted up towards him, golden-lit eyes- less fiery now but certainly not dulled of their innate passion- fixed upon his back. The Arcanine was clothed now, her choice interesting perhaps, being that of bushido-like hakama pants, and altered gi top. She had no weapons upon her, but the outfit seemed fitting for her earlier display.
"Have the winds told you their secrets yet?" Her voice was softer, not as angry and wicked as before. Though it still held that oddly excessive formality and a hint of roughness at the back of her throat that went right along with her appearance.

Xero's hands lowered when he heard the feint sond of footsteps coming from beind. His fingers curled slightly. It was a ready position for a shadow ball attack, slightly modified to fit his extra two fingers. The feel of this 'stranger' was actually none too violent. In fact the presense was familiar. Could it be? His eyes widened as he turned around, than narrowed when he saw Kyrea. Without the raise of emotions the soup shop had produced he was able to reconise at least some of the familiarity he was feeling from the archanine. It was himself...
"It would seem they have..." He spoke with no hint of emotion in his tone. Though he was amused by her presense here, especialy when she had just been on his mind.
"And what brings you here so early in the night?" His fingers relaxed before he rose to his feet than turned to fully face the arcanine-human.

The black dog-like ears on her head rotated a slight bit more forward, subconciously catching the movement but not registering it more than that. It would be none too surprising- she was always ready for some sort of action. The seriousness of her posture and expression seemed, now in natural lighting and outside of excessive stimuli, to be her base with likely easily excitable extremes as he witnessed before.
"I am still waiting." Perhaps she was a bit amused that he had heard such wind secrets, but no smile would follow to confirm that, nor a change in tone. She was curious, too, about his actions back in the shop. He had stopped a whole realm of eruptions, very quickly and very timely. That was not something just anyone would, or could, do given the circumstances.
"I sought to be away from the noise of those others, and the city. It was too chaotic and I could not think." Or calm down. She had only felt more and more angry, and it was a dangerous thing. "I began walking, and I suppose your scent drew me here. There is something about you."

There were two ways Xero's suspicions could be clarified: if she had told him herself, or if he could pry into her mind and read her deepest memories. The latter would be quite painful to the pokemon. This poke-human before him felt familiar, as if he were looking at a part of himself. A lot has happened since that night, so evolution was a possible explication of the unfamiliarity in physical appearance. (That is putting the human transformation aside)
"I cannot help but share that familiar feeling toward you as well. I came up here to meditate on these past events and I find my focus has shifted toward you and your human. Why? My suspicions have yet to be confirmed."
Xero's arms folded across his chest as he looked into Kyrea's eyes. He was almost certain this was the same one. Even though her form had changed dramatically, the eyes kept that same passionate fire they had those many years ago. That small pokemon so desperate to save its already deceased human despite its own danger was responsible for Xero's own change in heart. He saved that pokemon, giving it some of his energy using his psychic, than waited near the center until the pokemon was guaranteed to survive.
Fate has a strange way of working should this be that same pokemon...
