User Image She knew she shouldn't have gone to sleep.

Of course, she was completely unaware that he had stayed up almost the entire night to watch over her. All she knew was that when she had woken naturally to the chirping of birds and the rays of sunlight that filtered through the massive tree roots, he was unconscious. She mentally smacked herself upside the head and pushed him out of their makeshift den. Fortunately, nothing had picked them off in the night.

Her muscles were still aching, but she didn't have much choice. He said Hollow Earth was just straight ahead, before he had passed out, and she headed that way. Not by herself, of course. She wasn't about to leave the wolf, dead to the world, to fend for himself. Instead, she was dragging him. Again.

She didn't notice the scent markers, as she was too busy hauling his a** the best she could, her maw filled with only his scent as she dragged him carefully along by the scruff. Completely oblivious to the signs, she found herself almost smack dab in the middle of Samhain and Draka's territory.

Samhain sighed to himself, sitting at the mouth of the northern entrance to the caves. Was Pol ever coming back? Sam's sick lungs weren't happy lately with his patrolling, and his cough had come back. He hadn't coughed like this since he was a sickly pup, needing to see a shaman every week to keep him from bleeding out.

Brow knitted with worry, Sam set out, slower than usual. He had decided to shake things up a bit and patrol from north to south, instead of south upwards. Maybe he would get a break this time. It wasn't that he didn't like gaining new members to his pack, but the meetings with them were starting to wear on him.

The big male didn't get a chance to reach the border, though. Almost immediately after setting out from the caves, he spotted a strange couple of wolves surrounded by the lush grasses of his packland. They had passed through his border without even thinking twice about it!

"Hey, you!" he growled softly, approaching more aggressively than he had with any other wolf in his time as alpha. Drawing closer, the alpha felt suddenly confused. "Pol?" he questioned before he realized his brother was out cold.

The moment Samhain's voice reached her ears, she winced and jumped backwards, dropping Pol a little more roughly than she had intended to. Fear was evident as she rounded to face the alpha of Hollow Earth, as her ears flattened and her tail slowly began to wedge itself between her legs. At first she thought she might have made a mistake, possibly getting her placement against the sun mistaken. It was when he spoke Pol's name that she, inwardly, felt some relief.

But not much.

She had just stumbled into his territory, dragging one of his pack's members, who was unconscious. It must have been an odd and confusing sight and she had never heard a wolf snap at her so angrily. He was larger and older, obviously much stronger than she was, being only half grown. Yet, at the same time, there was a familiarity to his appearance and scent.

"H-h-he, I..." Her voice trailed off and she took a deep breath. She wasn't in the wrong, so she shouldn't have reason to fear him... Right?

"I met him some several moons back. He fell and had a nasty head wound, but he wouldn't sit still." As much as she liked to badger him, she would feel too guilty to rat out the fact that he had hurt himself because he was too afraid to speak with her.

Sam winced a bit as his young charge was roughly dropped by the female. What the hell was going on here?

"What have you.." he began to ask her what she had done to him, but she was already explaining. She was familiar in a way, and it confused him even more.

He moved closer and nudged Pol, hoping to wake him. "Where are you from, young one? What is your name?" He would have to thank the alpha of her pack now, for her kind deed towards Pol. He wondered how long the journey might be... maybe he could just send a runner. Though, that wouldn't be respectable of him.

He stood back to wait her answers, and wondered why he couldn't shake that strangely familiar feeling.

Maybe it was just Pol’s luck that had him jumping through hoops, or maybe it was just Pol’s personality that had made his life become so hectic. But whatever it was it was shaking Pol back to consciousness right now, groaning Pol turned over his body protesting with sore muscles. He had stayed in a sitting position the whole night to make sure Linn had been safe he didn’t want to be weak any longer but he was fearful of the already present future.

Taking in a deep breath Pol cracked open an eye the voices around him seeping in slowly and then way to loudly, the light was even worse it made Pol regret opening his eyes but if he knew one thing about Linn then they had arrived at Hallow Earth. Letting out another pain filled groan Pol used what strength he could to get up and shake it off, he wasn’t going to speak just yet… Fearful of the pain.

She was becoming bolder as she spoke, certain that things would work out. It wouldn't do to act like a frightened pup, especially if she wanted to prove her worth to others and to Tomkin. She stood firmly, but was careful to give the alpha of this strange pack the respect that he deserved. First impressions were important and she didn't want to ruin this.

She cleared her throat and began to answer his questions as he tried to wake Pol. Seemed to be working, despite her earlier attempts. Awell, regardless, he seemed alright. He'd just concur what she said, anyways, if he knew what was good for him. She doubted he'd lie over something like this, anyways, because he seemed pretty reliable.

"My name is Tuilinn, of Tomkin. Daughter of Schatze and Stryder." She replied formally, as she had learned to do over her few months within the pack. Her tail wagged slightly and her chest jutted out with pride as she spoke.

The alpha's ear flicked ever so slightly as the she-wolf went through where she was from and who her parents were. That was easy, and now Sam was battling a broad smile, trying to keep stern for a few moments more.

Why had he not met her when he travelled home with his twin to help Kane? He had at least seen or heard of his other siblings, but he had no knowledge or remembrance of this sister?

Finally, the smile broke, and Sam sat comfortably on the ground in front of the two teens. His little Pol, growing up and finding a girl. Should he threaten Pol like big brothers were want to do, or simply ask about their parents well being?

Grinning wide and bright, Sam addressed Linn once more. "How are our parents, little sister? How is Beltane?" he threw in, knowing that Linn knew Bel, since Bel had chosen to remain in the pack. It was easy, if Linn stopped to look him over, to see that he was Bel's spitting image.

It was fun being a twin.

She was obviously curious in his sudden, rather cheery demeanor. She hadn't expected it, but she wagged her own tail in response and she plopped on her rear, head cocked slightly as she studied his familiarness. She didn't have to ponder on this for very long, though she may have come to the conclusion on her own if given time. Instead, he spoke. And his words surprised her.

The young wolf was on her four paws in an instant, her dark tail a waving banner behind her. Siblings!

"Beltane is well! As are mother and father!" She knew he looked familiar. He was the spitting image of her older sister! Oh, she felt rather daft for not noticing it earlier, but that feeling didn't linger long and she was pleasantly surprised as well as thrilled. Odd, finding an older sibling on happenstance. And he was an alpha! This spurned her want to prove her worth even further.

"So you're from her litter! It's such a pleasure to meet ya!"

Pol couldn’t help but just watch as the two spoke to one another like they were long time friends in all his wildest dreams he couldn’t ever have gotten the balls to speak to Sam with so much relaxation in his voice! He had always wanted to be on guard to prove himself to the large male, but every since Linn came into his life Pol had been noticing a lot of things that he had been doing quite cowardly.

Biting his tongue Pol held back on their reunion, they needed this they were in fact siblings and Pol knew what it was like to need a sibling.

Patiently Pol stayed seated and watched as his most favorite wolf in the world conversed with his new friend, was he jealous that Sam was getting Linn’s attention so thoroughly and that all he could ever hope to get was her attitude for his failed attempts at being brave?

Maybe, but that just means he’d have to work harder to be more like Sam and maybe one day he’d have his own pack… And maybe keep in touch with Linn.

"Pleasure's all mine!" he exclaimed. He was the ultimate 'family man' type, and loved it when he could be around his family. He wondered if Loki hadn't given him this land, would he have stayed, or gone back to his birth pack to live his days out with siblings?

Would he have ever met Draka and fallen in love? Would he command the veritable army of wolves now? No... he knew that was a definite no. Aguta was kind of his caves, and now Samhain was king of his own caves. There was no need to think on a different path. He was happy with his life, wouldn't change it for the world.

He still hadn't taken his mate back to meet his family, though, and that was one of the things he really wanted to get done.

"How is Kane... and Abel?" he asked rather suddenly. He had visited the pack to help Kane, to try to make sense of why the teen had the ever-growing urge to hurt Abel.

She seemed overjoyed, and why shouldn't she? She knew she had older siblings, but it never occurred to her that she would stumble on one just by happenstance. On top of that, he had his own pack! It was something she only dreamed of, despite her love and loyalty to Tomkin. In her eyes, Samhain was amazing. He was certainly a worthy wolf to look up to and she, as of that moment, did just that. A shame she didn't meet him sooner!

It was when he brought up Kane and Abel that her cheerfulness faltered slightly. She hadn't quite bonded well with her siblings. It wasn't because she didn't care for them, no, she was often just too absorbed in her own issues. She knew of her brother's odd want to kill her sister and it worried her, but she rarely spoke of it.

"Ah, you know... Same old, same old, yeah? Pol, why didn't you tell me you knew my brother, eh?" She chuckled, nudging him slightly with her shoulder, although she knew he didn't know either.

Glancing to Linn Pol could feel his body tense, why didn’t he make the connection sooner, because he was weak and being distracted by his cowardly actions against Linn. Gulping Pol looked to his alpha feeling ashamed that he wasn’t smart enough to have helped find Linn faster and prepare them for this reunion.

Quickly Pol pushed down his shame and looked back to Linn, “Um well I…I don’t know I…” He thought back to his first time meeting the female and remembered shamefully how he had acted… If he hadn’t acted so embarrassingly he might have really noticed Linn’s resemblance to his alpha.

“I’m sorry.”

Samhain let out a hearty laugh at the antics displayed by both teens, his worry for Kane and Abel disappearing for now. He was happy to have another of his family visit his pack, and hoped she wouldn't be leaving too soon.

"Well Tui, you're welcome here as long as you'd like to stay. Pol will make sure you're comfortable." he grinned, moving forward to bump the boy playfully. It was times like this he was happy to be an alpha, and even more happy to come from a large family and have even more friends who felt like family.

"Come along, we'll head back into the dens and see what the hunters have brought us for dinner." he offered, knowing that the two would be hungry, especially for as long as Pol had been away from the pack.

"Ain't nothing to be sorry for, Pol, just messin' around." She smirked as she bumped him yet again, her tail wagging in a cheerful manner. She was thrilled to be there, even more so to be amongst friends and family, which made the work to even get here all worth while.

"Thanks, Sam! And mmmmm, that sounds delicious! I worked up quite an appetite up there. Bet you did, too, Pol." She didn't want to impose, but she got the feeling that she wouldn't be, really, at least for now. Samhain seemed happy enough to have her around and his younger pack-mate back, so it seemed alright enough. Maybe she could even learn a thing or two while here, huh? She'd managed to catch her own, smaller game in the past, but perhaps she could wheedle herself into doing work around the pack until she returned home or decided to go off further, on her own. Adventurous as she was, something in her told her she probably wouldn't be going that far, in the end. Not without friends or family.
