We all know that he is going to play with pain, the problem here is how long until the pain gets worse, for him not to play.

The biggest problem for Brett Favre right now is weighing three different concerns, 1. his personal health, 2. his streak, and 3. The well being of the team.

Some would question if the Vikings, after a 1-3 start can turn it around and still make a run in the playoffs. While that playoff spot is in question, it's still early on in the season, And if the Vikings can turn their season around, they will want a healthy Brett down the line.

His consecutive starting streak is impressive, and may be un challenged by any other players for years and years to come. But Records are made to be broken. How important is the starting streak? And in the attempt to extend that streak worth further injury to himself or hurting his team in the immediate future. I suffered Tendonitus in my right elbow after a martial arts accident back in April, it took roughly 4 months, till August for it to completely heal. So I doubt 1-2 weeks sitting out will solve the problem.

And finally the importance of his team. This Sunday is a very important game against the Dallas Cowboys, a game which if they loose, they may not recover from and be able to salvage a playoff appearance. Being healthy down the line may be the best thing for Brett and his team, but if they loose this game, they may loose what little chance was left for them to be a playoff contending team, so if Brett was to return healthy in two weeks, it may be too late to help his team make the playoffs, and his streak would be shot.

These three elements, and his scandal that's going on right now... I wouldn't want to be Brett atm.

I don't see this happening Peyton will retire because what Farve did for himself was play with injury day in and day out. Peyton will probably be at around 250 starts.
