He seemed sluggish today and preoccupied. Something was definitely up with Lucas, but what was she going to do ask? Not likely. She didn't like when people butted into her personal life, so she usually tried to avoid doing it herself. She sighed and figured if he wanted to talk about it he would. Her ears were always open.
Fionna flew up higher testing the wind direction and speed. The wind was on and off, but was pretty strong while it was going. She yelled over to Lucas and Al, "Once you finish that lap come on over and I'll tell you what you're doing first today!" Hopefully it wouldn't be too hard for Lucas to handle. They would be working with the real bludgers today. It's not like they hadn't before, but the sluggishness probably would not help.

His efforts were pointless. When he finished the lap and stayed stationary in mid-air, Al and Fionna talked about what they would be doing today, their backs away from him. It was getting late and the almost-full moon was creeping out from the forest trees in the backround. Lucas felt weak at the knees as he watched it slowly ascend into the darkening sky, mocking his suffering, indifferent to his pain or sorrows. He flew around the field, the cool air whipping his hair across his forehead. He was so tired from having not slept the night before, when he'd transformed. He still felt less human, he was so consumed by his urge to sleep, he couldn't help but close his eyes just a couple times to feel the warmth spread over his eyelids. Just get through this one practice...just this one, then sleep...you can lie on the cool dew-covered grass and sleep...the grass...warm earth...it seemed to be getting closer...
He was sliding off his broom and his grip on the beater's bat slackened. He was almost 25 feet in the air when he dropped like a boulder onto the ground, his body a twisted heap. ((25 feet is 5 feet above average for a typical two-story house)) The impact hit him hard and the shock woke him up almost the instant after he fell. He was trembling slightly, pain tingling at his nerves. He cringed and let out a small, pitiful groan. He didn't have the will in him to scream or the daring to pass out. What if he didn't wake up? People had died from falling off buildings..what if his neck was snapped..were his bones broken? Did anyone notice he'd fallen? He thought he heard a distant scream and saw someone running as if from the wrong end of a telescope..running towards him. His beaters bat was laying next to him...and his broomstick...right..practice...he tried to stand up but he couldn't feel his legs. He tried to sit up but he was aching and felt ready to retch...damn...blonde hair was all he could see for a moment before a face came into view. Fionna's face. And there was Al's beside it. At least no one else was here. A small smile worked it's way across his face and he managed to sit up a little, biting his tongue so he wouldn't show his pain in front of her. "I'm okay." He moaned. "Maybe just a quick lie-down...I'm fine..." The only times he'd been less fine were during full moons. His vision was hazy and someone was beating his skull with a metal baseball bat...

Fionna screamed out and yelled, "Lucas!!" before reacting and going full speed in his direction in a dive. She barely slowed down as she reached the ground and jumped off her broom a few feet away from where Lucas had landed. She estimated he had fallen from at least 20 feet in the air.
Fionna quickly rushed over to him and flinched slightly at the position of his body. Something was definitely broken, but luckily she could see him moving and his eyes fluttering. She plopped down beside him for a moment and listened to him as he moaned. "No you aren't fine. Just stay still." She said before turning to Al. "Al can you help me get him to the Hospital Wing? I don't want to touch him though, so you think you can manage the levitating charm with me?" She asked her pulling her own wand out of her robes.

~ Alison Nikolai~ ~3rd year Gryffindor~ (Yes these pictures are me)
Al was smiling and talking to Fionna. "Okay, great!" She said, after discussing tactis for a moment. She turned around to look at Lucas, but he was gone. Lucas? She looked all around, then she looked down and there he was on the ground. "LUCAS!" She shrieked, her voice shrill and piecing, full of anguish and worry. He'd fallen a looong way down. She zoomed down next to him after Fionna, who'd gotten there first. "Lucas, oh my god..." His limbs were bent at angles they should definitly not be able to, in a normal condition. Her eyes were wide and she was racking her brain for the simplest thing, WHAT TO DO? She hated panicking in these situations, but she was just 13 and it was what she tended to resort to under pressure.
But Fionna already had a plan and she was about to start levitating Lucas to the hospital wing. Al nodded, feeling lost and a bit scared. No, a lot scared. "S-sure." She stammered. Wingardium Leviosah. She gave her wand a simple swish and flick as she said it, and Lucas was hovering off the ground. Not enough though, Fionna's charm should do the trick.

Lucas was aching, throbbing, he couldn't think straight and felt like he was in a daze, half-awake. Fionna's face, all his surroundings were enclosed by some sort of thick clear fog. He let a low groan escape him and again tried to move. He couldn't tell where he was in the white fog, he only felt the bitter defeat welling inside him. He'd failed...in front of Fionna...he'd fallen off his broom...how stupid he must seem to her... He just couldn't help it. He hadn't gotten any sleep last night...he thought he felt them moving him, talking above him, but he didn't really care. He wondered if he was going to the hospital wing...he was definitely moving. He kept quiet, still, closed his eyes and they danced in his skull. The pain of it all kept him awake but he didn't say anything now. He winced, but wordlessly. Then again, did appearances really matter right now? He clenched his teeth as the sudden urge to just howl welled up inside him. Not howl in pain, but just truly howl. Like the beast he was.

She probably wasn't sure what to do and was pretty scared for Lucas. It wasn't a pretty sight to see him laying on the ground like he was. Fionna was surprised she had been able to process so fast. She was glad Al was able to cast the spell though and she did so herself, "Wingardium Leviosa!" She said in a firm voice.
Her spell combined with Al's was able to get Lucas off the ground and floating along with them. Fionna concentrated on the spell and began heading towards the exit of the pitch where she would then proceed up to the castle and into the hospital wing.
