It had been some time since Ryuu had gone to the mall, not since he'd gotten himself trapped in the elevator with the scariest person in the world, the blond Bug girl! He had survived it but a part of him never wanted to come here again due to that incident... or at least that was his plan until he heard the news, that there was a contest that involved decorating cakes! He knew that he couldn't resist such a thing, not when his favorite food was involved which meant that he had to work up his courage and head back to the mall once again and to the open area were the food court was located. There was already a crowd and he had to float up farther off the ground then he normally did to get a look around and to see what was happening.

The boy, while much bigger then he had been when he was still a dragon, was still very short especially given his age. Despite being labeled as a 'teenager' he wasn't exactly near that size. In fact the boy was less then four feet tall when standing flat footed. It was why he took advantage of his ability to float, so that he could see things that normal sized people could see, "Hrm... lets see now..." He murmured, then spotted the area that everyone was signing up at for the event. He headed in that direction, wiggling his way through the crowd, then paused at the table, filling out his name on one of the cards before he followed suit of those around him. He folded the paper in half, tossed it into a hat, then moved to the side to wait to see what happened next.

The man that he would guess was in charge announced that there would be another five minutes to sign up before the teams were picked. It seemed that it was going to be a random pick so that people with experience couldn't team up against the younger crowd. Ryuu would guess that he fell into the 'younger crowd' given the fact that he sure looked like them. He smiled and floated over to stand with them, tail wagging, antennae twitching, wings all aflutter as he awaiting the news.

Ryuu watched, eyes huge, as the tables in the area were starting to get set up. There were small cakes on each of them, various colors of frosting, as well as various types of candies that could be used for decoration. He did his best to keep from drooling as he knew that they, his partner and himself, would never win the contest if the first thing he did was eat the cake... surely they would be able to eat it after they were done decorating, right? He sure hoped so since the eating of the cake was the whole reason he'd come here. Free cake was the best prize ever if you asked the dragon tailed boy.

The announcer checked his watch before he moved over to the hat and set to picking pieces of paper up at random, reading off the names. Slowly but surely the people were starting to get paired off and told which table to go to, the crowd began to thing and there was a lot of chatter going on as the people got to talking to their partners. Ryuu was completely on edge until at long last he heard his name called out and followed by the name Carina. He turned around, looking for the one that responded to the name before he went floating over to her, a huge smile on his face.

"Hello! I'm Ryuusei!" He chirped happily tail wagging behind him in an excited manner before he looked around for their assigned table, number fourteen. That was good... had it been thirteen he'd of worried that they were going to end up cursed with bad luck from the start, "So any ideas what we should do?" He asked of the girl, smiling away.

He gave a smile, tail wagging, as he was told that he had an interesting name, "Really? Thank you, though I think your name sounds very pretty." He told her, not wanting for her to think that she didn't have a nice name when she did. Not to mention he was the sort that enjoyed making other people happy.

He watched as she showed off the doodle she'd made along with the power that she had and his eyes went quite wide, "Wow! You can draw on yourself?" He didn't really even consider that if he had a marker that he could draw on himself, instead all he saw was how awesome the doodles she made on her skin looked, "So neat!" He leaned over to get a look at what she was thinking a battle between monsters?

"Cool, we are gonna make a monster cake!" He chirped, seeming to be impressed by the idea. As they reached their table he floated up a little higher to get a better view of it, looking at what they had to work with in a thoughtful manner, "Oooo, we can use the red M&Ms for the monster eyes." He suggested as he pointed at them.

Ryuusei gave a nod of his head as he set to work looking over what they had to work with before he grinned and picked up some licorice whips, "They would make good tails." He mused, looking at his own for a moment and then back to the red candies before he pulled a couple over to him to sit with the red 'eyes' that he had already pulled over, "What else would make good monster pieces...?" He asked of his partner, wondering if she had any ideas what would be good as monster bits.

He looked over at Carina for a moment when she mentioned each of them doing one side of the fight before he gave a smile and a nod, "That would be neat! My monster against your monster, it sounds fun." He said, giving a giggle as though he could already see it now.

He had no idea if he would be able to make a good monster out of candy and frosting but he was going to try his best for his partner. Winning didn't matter to him so long as he got to eat free cake, it was the taste that counted in his mind, but he didn't want to cause Carina to lose and be sad so he would try hard to make their cake wonderful! Or at least his side of the cake at least... and if nothing else he did have a lucky bonus of having been a dragon himself at one point so he could try to mimic his old look for his monster... only a lot scarier and less sparkly.
