The American bobtail was trying to find some place to live, some place to stay and people who really cared about her. Her poor little feet hurt as she walked around nearly the while city. She sighed softly stopping and pushing herself up on a park bench. She carefully tugged at the ribbon around her neck. She hated it but she wasn't ready to take it off. It was far too girly for the tomboy. She let out another small sigh as she looked around. she hadn't really seen any other cats in a few days, it worried her slightly. Yet then again as she thought about it she realized that she hadn't been looking for other cats, she'd been looking for herself. She shook her head at herself. Climbing down from the bench she started walking again. She closed her eyes and dropped her head walking slowly, She was feeling a bit broken, feeling a bit like maybe, just maybe someone like her didn't have a place in the world. She was so young she more than likely shouldn't have been worrying about such things, but Sol had screamed at her about needing to find who she really was and it really scared her. " Come on Kota... chin up." She muttered to herself as she tried to cheer herself up, right now she couldn't stand Sol or anyone back at the aquarium, she didn't want to grow up. She just wanted to be a kid.

Elijah reeeeally didn't like to go out without someone coming with him. It felt too much like he was only a inch from returning to these very streets, alone and with no home - too much like it had been before he had been taken in by Miss Ara and Mister Morph. Beyond having developed mild agoraphobia from his day-today stay inside their apartment, the kitten was blind and, well, a bit of an anomaly; how many winged cats did a person see after all? He felt terribly self-conscious every second he was outside, and he had to keep telling himself: "J-Just a grocery run, groceries . . ."
That was why he had left after all. He wanted to prove he wasn't completely dependent on his surrogate family, even when he totally was.
Keeping to the shadows, Elijah shrunk against buildings and tried to sniff his way towards the market. Markets had fruit, right? He needed to find it quick, because the longer he stayed out, the more they might worry . . . He kinda was doing this without telling them. But if Momma and Poppa were in class the whole time, maybe they wouldn't have to know. He wanted so badly to surprise them with fresh food when they got back. The least he could do for rescuing him . . .

Dakota watched him for a few seconds, but there was something really weird about him. The more she looked at him the more she realized that he was different. The female stayed in the shadows at she watched him, then she realized it. He had wigs. She had to man up and actually speak to someone else. This wasn't going to be easy, but she had to ask him what was happening. She thought she was seeing things, and that was the last thing this little kitten needed. "Excuse me." The little female said softly as she stepped into the light. She had no idea the other was blind. She didn't know a think about the toyger. "May I ask you a question."
She nibbled her lip and watched the male carefully. She didn't know how this was going to go because well, she didn't know if this guy was going to jump her. She'd just stay quiet and stand here, She couldn't hurt anything if she just stood and watched him. " I know its probably not something I should ask, but. Are those wings? I understand if its far to personal. you don't have to answer me." She told the male turning her eyes to the ground.

Thankfully for Dakota, Elijah bad been practicing using his other senses to maneuver about his surroundings. Certainly he wasn't above tripping over still objects, but for the most part he was beginning to grow more aware of even the slightest sound or shift in scent. For instance, he thought for some odd reason that he had smelled fish despite not being near a store or a "river" as his parents called it. When he realized there was a cat accompanying scent mingling with it, the young tom stiffened a little, hearing pawsteps coming towards him.
Here would come the questions.
To the girl's credit, her soft voice did lessen the anxiety he was feeling, but otherwise Elijah's ears pulled back and down. He didn't want to be asked questions, he just wanted to be left alone so he could get his things and go home . . . "Nn-nn," he grunted with a shake of his head, not surprised those were the first things to come up in conversation. "No . . . C-Could you tell me where the f-fruit shop is?" Was that where fruit was sold, in a shop? Or in the market? Or did he have to go find a tree . . . ?
