Kai shifted excitedly in her care seat as they drew closer to the community hall. God only knows how she had talked Ira into it, tears had been involved and many a kicked puppy dog expression. Only after she had seen the poster one day while walking she had not been able to get the colourful thing out of her head.
A true adventure and one to let her imagination run wild she also took a huge amount of pleasure in anything creative,art and music included. Al through they still had to be colourful or catchy to keep her attention as she was still only a child and not what one would call sophisticated beyond her tender years.
As winter was rolling in and extending its grip it was already getting dark but inside the community hall disco lights had started to blaze and some cheesy pop song from a forgotten era was blasting from the loud speakers. Ira couldn't suppress a shudder. The things he did for that girl.
Even before the car had rolled to a complete stop Kai was bounding out of the BMW towards the large swing doors to vanish inside. Ira reluctantly followed his charge, his usual limp even more pronounced as he walked much slower than usual.

Lucifel had listened to her sister, Tori, go on and on about dancing. So, curiosity getting the better of her she decided to give it a try. She'd saw something in the local paper about some 'fancy' dance. Any dance to her though was fancy. Not wanting to go 'stag' as she heard from her sister, Tori, that it was improper she drug along Amelia.
Amelia didn't want to go... dancing meant a lot of people. She hated being around large groups of people. She wanted to instantly turn into a unicorn and feel safe and secure but her sister insisted she try to stay at least human for an hour.
Lucifel smiled towards Murphy when he opened the door of the limo. It was very nice of Tori to offer her driver for the evening.. she really didn't feel like walking in the dark or calling a cab because she just knew that more than likely she'd be going home with a unicorn. And, unicorns seemed to attract a lot of attention.
Amelia was none to pleased about having to get out of the limo. In truth she wanted to stay in there for the evening.
"Oh come on already or we'll miss out," Lucifel said as she grabbed her sisters hand and ran for the door. In her usual hyper self, she was of course the bull in the china shop.

Ira found a semi privet corner as soon as the entered the disco and settled into a seat,determined to wait out the evening and try and retain at least some of his dignity.
Unsurprisingly Kai belted straight across to the snack table to get in a sugar rush before dancing could begin, she picked out a few biscuits, a chocolate bar and a sausage roll to make her father happy. Setting all the goodies on a paper plate she darted through the milling 'crowd' although the handful of people that had attended were mostly at the edges eyeing the dance floor with indecision. This early on in the night only the bravest souls ventures out on the flashing floor tiles to strut their stuff.
Stuffing half the sugar pumped item into her mouth before she even reached her guardian she was already buzzing as she came to a jittery stop at his side. "Dad, dance with me!" she demanded with a grin. Ira sighed. "Kai, I'm not the dancing type and there are plenty of other children here for you to dance with."
The small white haired girl pouted. "But I want to dance with you." Ira studied his adopted face and just managed t hold back a groan at the pleading expression she was deploying to weaken his resolve. "Maybe later. Maybe." he told her. It wasn't any sort of promise but kai seemed to take it as a victory and smiled. "Okay!" she declared before dumping a empty paper plate in his lap and turning to look back and the crowd. Suddenly she stiffened. Somehow she had always been able to sense others...like her. And even before Lucifel and Amelia passed through the the doors she knew they were coming. Excited she moved towards the area she felt them and soon spotted the two that stood out like swore thumbs. "Hello!" she called beaming. "You to are like me. I mean from that shop, I mean, your like me." the girl rambled before stopping to breath. "My names kai."
